Now i'm just curious about this, but does anyone else play Warmachine or Hordes?
I'm only just starting out after first discovering it a couple of years back, but there are a couple of things i've liked about the storyline and the miniatures. Although as soon as the plastic kits come out, it's going to be weird fielding a whole army of metal miniatures.

I've got a starter set for Khador... really nice feel of power as you field heavy warjacks only. Add all the Imperial Russia imagery and Sorscha is one hot (but cold) Warcaster smile

I'm actually going to start learning with a local group soon and begin working toward a small force.

lol fair enough I've started Cygnar myself. I've ordered the box set, and planning to order the new plastic set when it's released along with a unit of Stormblades.
Unfortunately being in England, there aren't as many stores that stock Warmachine and Hordes so its difficult.

I'm running Cygnar, Probably gonna get a Journeyman warcaster and maybe a "Hunter" lightwarjack. Right now I have the starter kit + a Heavy Jack kit (Which will let me make an ironclad, defender, or cyclone).

I tried playing it but I found it a bit too character combo driven and a bit too "in your face" with how they promoted it back then. I do however enjoy the background from the range along with the odd mini here and there.
Plus when they announced they were doing plastics I couldn't help but laugh at the general reaction of the Warmachine community.

How did they react? Personally having plastic models would be a better thing modelling wise

starting protectorate, as soon as I get my 'nid army fixed... looks like a nice game, though the number of players to my area is appalling. 5 in total, if I include myself. 1 of everything but cygnar, with 2 protectorate (which includes me) but hey! I might be the one guy there who'll have his entire army painted...

Dante Silas How did they react? Personally having plastic models would be a better thing modelling wise When they started out they'd say that they would rather die than produce plastic kits. Late last year they announced to produce plastic 'Jacks and the community got its knickers in a quite a twist over it. It was quickly forgiven when the kits were shown off in all their high detail glory. And yes, plastic is better for the 'Jacks, especially those with the thin ankle and shoulder joints that support massive frames and stupidly large arms.

plastic, in my opinion, is just better for larger things. really, the larger the thing:the more plastic it needs. it makes sense to me.

I remember the strictly-posed High Elves of the WFB 4th ed starter - compare this to the newest 40k starter set - or Space Hulk termies. Plastic has really been revolutionized since then And its real joy to convert. I pray for the day plastic Sisters arrive for 40k.

BJS. - I know what you mean. When i made my dragon I loved how easy it was. I'm waiting to see a plastic Hydra myself.
I must admit, i recieved my copy of the Warmachine rulebook and Cygnar Army Book, and i've found a couple of things I'd like to see in the future.

Having read several product reviews regarding the PP plastics, I'd wait and see what happens. You pay premium price for shitty Chinese casting quality that is prone to miscasting and easily warps when exposed to heat. Not to mention that the plastic they use requires super glue to assemble the model.

Hopefully no one minds me posting a thread that's been dead for almost a full year... I got into Cyngar myself, haven't bought the Starter box, though, found too many Light Jacks more entertaining, like the Grenadier, Sentinel or the Firefly. I agree on the "normal" sized Jacks looking way out of proportion. Then again, I bet taking left over sprues and gluing them on you'd be able to bulk up the tiny legs and arms!
