Inzi scretched out, sunbathing... though it was not likely to last long. He hated staying in one place for any long period of time, it simply drove her mental to think that she wasn't allowed to move around. Still, it was nice to feel the sun. Always a pleasure, really.
But she was waiting for Kopa, again. Inzi had gotten there extremely early... again. She sucked at waiting, and honestly didn't like the idea so much. Just more standing around expecting an ecent to happen that wasn't happening fast enough...
Bleh.
"Come on Kopa..." She mumbled, rolling down, and then attempting to roll up, a hill. It was harder to roll up. Like, really hard to roll up... but it was kind of fun to try.

Kopa walked back and forth behind a dune that was close by. He had gotten there earlier as well, but, got nervous at the last minute. "How to start, Inzi I- no, that won't be right, ...." he walked in circles, kicking up sand, tail swishing, eyes looking down. He was trying to have the words flow from his mouth easily, but this was not going to be anything easy.
"Inzi, I...want to tell you something...but don't laugh, like you do when I trip and-NO!," he stopped and pound his paws into the sand. No! He couldn't trail off either. This was important, very, very important, crucial even!
Was he even pursuing this in the right fashion?
"Hey Inzi, nice day? By the way I- urrg," he bit his tongue, stopped and winced his eyes shut. no,no,no, why couldnt he do this?

Inzi was trying to roll up the hill again when she thought she heard Kopa's voice. That was strange... he wasn't usually late, per say, but he wasn't usually early either. All very strange... and what was he talking about anyway?
Ohh, she should find out! Time to be sneaky!
She turned over and slowly crept up the hill, trying to stay as quiet as possible... though it was nearly impossible not to giggle as she made her way upwards. She liked being able to sneak though... even if it was a little tricky.
What was he talking about? He said her name a lot, which was a little strange since he couldn't see her. That was very odd. Why wouldn't he just talk to her...? So strange... but he was so cute for it! She just wanted to give him a hug!

"Inzi," he started again, walking in circles, eyes closed, trying to take deep, calm breathes, "you are one of the first lions that I've ever felt...comfortable around, no, that's no right. You make me feel, at home...but, more than that," he stopped, pushing his paws into the sand, thinking, and walked on again.
"And, you make me smile, but more than that Inzi, you...make me feel warm, like the sun, but not too hot like when its humid and it hurts my paws and I jump and you giggle, no,no,no," he grit his teeth again. "I can't ramble like that.." he sighed, stretching a bit, trying to start over.
"Inzi, I want, I want to tell you something I've never told anyone...never felt, I-I-" he stuttered, almost shaking a bit, why was this so hard? What if she didn't feel the same way?

For once... it was actually extremely easy to stay quiet. Inzi was a little shocked by how easy it was in fact... but it shouldn't have been. She wanted to jump on him, hug him, snuggle her big fuzzy friend and yet... he sounded so serious. Almost sad.
And he was talking about her? But why? It took her a moment to follow his train of thought... but something about him was... it was different. He was talking so seriously about her and about... how he felt about her?
Her father talked like this sometimes, and her aunt, when they talked about their mates. Even her grandmother had spoken this way, as though everythinf felt right when they spoke to each other...
...she had to listen. She couldn't move, couldn't speak... for the first time ever.

"I'm going to sound so stupid," his ears fell back slightly as he walked, creasing the sand, his circle becoming more oval with each stride. "If only I could be more poetic, less stiff, something, I should've asked someone for advice...lets see..."
He caught his thoughts, again, deep breath, calm mind, try again.
"Inzi," he name was so smooth, even, and was like a fresh rain when he thought of her, remember that, he told himself. "You are like the rain, and I'm like the sun...like a new dawn, I rose and came here not knowing what lay upon the dunes, but you gave me strength, soothed my inner surging thoughts, and calmed my spirit..." was that too lame?
"You make me feel like I don't have to prove myself, or worry about what the future might bring, because I know...I hope, that we will face it together, as one, because Inzi I-"
He caught himself, deep breath.
"-I, have never felt, like this, ever, for anyone, and it is more than simply liking you as a friend, Inzi I-" breathe!
"I love you."

Inzi's eyes opened wide and she sat up abruptly, totally blowing her cover in the process, "You love me!?" Now that was... well, that was kind of awesome! Her parents were in love! Their parents were in love! Even her aunt... mother... Well, she was in love too! So this was... love was the best thing ever! This was awesome!
"Kopa! Kopa!" She ran forward, skidding about in a wave of sand as she tore up dirt to get beside him as fast as possible, "You're awesome!" She said, feeling that she probably had to make that as clear as possible.
Well, he was totally awesome! Like, really awesome! This was so great! What had he been so worried about anyway? So silly. Part of why she liked him!
...Wait, did she love him too? That was how this worked right? She did like hanging around with him more than anyone outside her family...

He almost died.
Right then.
He swore it to the sun.
His heart almost stopped when he heard Inzi's voice, not only for surprise of her being so close, probably hearing some-all of what he said, but because she did that to him sometime. But, by the sun god, he almost just died.
He turned around to face her, a smile on his face and he nodded, but he was unsure if she would say the same thing. Did she feel the same way? Did she know? Was he moving too fast? Was he asking too many questions? Why was he beating himself up like this?
"I-I do, Inzi, I do, and I just...want to make you happy, and...be with you," if he could change colors, he would be bright red.

"You want to be with me?" Kopa grinned widely, "Oh Kopa you make me so happy sometimes I could burst! Just burst!" She said happily, wrapping her paws around him and hugging him, nuzzling into his shoulder. "I adore you!"
"You're very sweet, and funny and..." She was very nearly distracted by the way the sun hit the oasis on the other side of the desert, but she had to remember that this was kind of important. She should really pay attention.
"I'm not sure about the whole love thing, I've never been in it before." She mentioned, sitting down and tilting her head, "But I do know I like you more than I like anyone else! So that means pretty much the same thing right? I think that's what love is." She nodded her head, liking that.
