Curious....curious indeed. Atan's ears perked up as she approached the borders of her family's pride. But she did not leave. Looking out from a branch, she stared off into what seemed like nothing almost. Hmm...how interesting. She lay down on the branch, staring for a bit off into the distance. She would never leave her home, ever. She loved it here. But from time to time she liked to sit and watch. Sometimes she saw outsiders approach, but they almost always turned and left. This jungle was a dangerous place for those who did not know it well like her family did.
Her tail flickered a little as she watched, a lioness approached, and came very close to entering....then heard a sound, and jumped...then ran off. Hmm....outsiders were so cowardly weren't they? Hmm....still laying in her spot...she would go back soon, she needed to train some more. But just a little longer...

Chronos had wandered into an unfamiliar land. Oh well, he didn't care where he was just so long as he could get away from his family for a while. His mother was just a tad... overbearing. Trees were all around, but in his opinion, that was better than baking out in the sand and sun. As he approached, the scent of plants wafted towards him. It was rather nice, a cool, moist smell.
This place seemed interesting enough, so he pressed further, only to smell more lions. It was faint behind the aroma of the trees and flowers, but it was there. Was that? Female? Well if it was, he needed to make sure he made a pleasant first impression! Plopping his bright pink rump on the ground, he began to groom his mane, which had deflated slightly along the journey here. Well, it has to be light and fluffy like the cotton candy it resembles!
After bathing, he shook himself off and trotted further into the wooded area, humming a happy tune. He really was completely oblivious to how eerie the place was. Strange noises and unfamiliar foliage would be enough of a warning to any smart lion, and he wasn't dull, just too absorbed in trying to find some ladies and how sexy he was.

Atan saw a pink figure approaching. Was that a scruffy female? Oh wait no, its male. But so terribly pink. Curious, Atan sat up as she watched the pink lion approaching their territory. Cocking her head to the side, she watched his odd behavior as he suddenly sat down and began to groom himself. How odd, why would you stop in strange lands to groom? So many prides are hostile, she heard, it seemed incredibly stupid to just sit there like that. Was this male defective or something?
He began to hum, coming even closer to the jungle. Flattening her ears and letting out a low growl, Atan leaped from the tree landing in front of him as her lips began to curl up in a growl, her posture very threatening. “You who trespasses! Cease your movements this instant!” she commanded. Okay, so this was not her job. But she didn’t like how confident this male seemed to simply waltz into her pride like that! Did he think there would be no negative consequences!?

Ah, today was such a beautiful day! The path seemed clear enough, so he closed his eyes, a skip in his step as he hummed a tune. It was just the sort of morning to get away from the family and meet some people.
Suddenly, Chronos heard a dull thud, from someone landing in front of him. Blinking his eyes open, he was confronted by a rather stunning young lioness. Her pelt seemed to shimmer in the sun that peeked in around the leaves of the trees. But she appeared to be rather angry though. Had he done something to offend her? He hadn't even said anything yet. Wow. A new record. He stopped in his tracks, perfectly content to watch her for a few moments more.
He stood there blankly, only flicking his ear at a bug that had landed on it, soaking in her words. "Trespassing? Why, I was simply taking a leisurely stroll.", he said calmly, a polite grin on his face. "One so beautiful as yourself shouldn't become so angry. Perhaps you could lay your fur flat, for it really is quite a sight!", the words flowing from his mouth. Chronos couldn't fathom what one so gorgeous would have to be upset about. "I can assure you, I mean no harm."

Atan wasn’t upset over him trespassing, as much as she was upset over his cockiness. He was so convinced he could walk anywhere and chat with anyone and he could just get away with it! Well he was lucky her pride was mostly accepting of new comers, he would be in real trouble if it had been one of the more aggressive prides!
“You are trespassing on the territory of the Iknimaya pride!” she commanded, standing her ground against the pink intruder. Atan was busy trying to figure out if he was stupid, or had some trick up his sleeve. So far, she was leaning towards stupid. “Flattery will not work on me. State your name and business.” she said, raising her head. She stopped snarling but she was still glaring at him.

"As I said before, I was simply on a walk and stumbled across this lush land, and a rather ravishing lioness.", he said in an even tone. He didn't want a fight, especially with a lady, let alone one that would be such a shame to leave a scratch on that fabulous pelt.
"The Iknimaya, you say, that sounds rather interesting. Are they hostile?", he asked curiously. If they weren't aggressive, he would certainly like to meet them. Especially if there were more ladies just as stunning as this wonderful creature before him. "May I ask what I have done to offend you, my lady? Because whatever it was, it was entirely by accident.", he said, his ears drooping from upsetting a belle. "Ah, yes, my name. My name is Chronos, of the Mteo'Nyungu Pride. I was merely wandering on a perfect day, perhaps looking for some company. And may I ask what your name is?", he asked sweetly. This lioness was intriguing, her attitude so guarded and hostile. Most beauties he met were generally snooty and afraid to get their paws dirty. But maybe that was just from growing up with his rather pretentious mother.

“Ravishing lionesses?” oh geez, he was one of THOSE types. Hmph. “Well maybe you are better off ‘ravishing’ theses imaginary lionesses. I don’t think anyone here will care for your ‘advances’” said Atan with a flick of her tail. Surely her sister’s wouldn’t fall for such a pretentious male right? Who would!
Grinning at the question, Atan replied. “Oh yes. Very hostile. If a warrior sees you, you will surely be killed on sight. Best you run along before you feel their claws and fangs in your ‘pretty little hide’” said Atan as she flashed her fangs in a rather toothy grin. Would he fall into her trap? Would he believe her story? “Offend me? Hmm well you come here acting like you have every right to be on land that is not yours, and are foolish enough to talk to any lion you meet. I am offended by your cockiness and narcissism. You believe you are so wonderful any female will fall for you! Well I am not falling for it! I see what you truly are!” said Atan. Though she had to admit, he was cute. “My name is Atan’tsyal. I am a great hunter of this pride!” she said holding her head high. Or at least she will be when she is an adult. She will become an official hunter, and what a wonderful day it will be!

While Chronos noted that the fair femme before his eyes appeared quite belligerent, something told him that the whole truth was not being revealed to him. As he thought, his eyebrow quirked briefly before giving Atan a sharp nod and saying, "I'd like to meet them! Contrary to my appearance, I am in fact, strong. If need be, I could prove myself, and then perhaps I might join this pride. These lands truly are a stunning sight! And frankly, I have had about enough of sand and rocks."
Upon hearing just how many offenses he had made towards the celestial lioness, he made an effort to suppress his arrogance, at least for a while. He himself was not fond of the trait either, but growing up with the father he had, the quality had not rubbed off, but saturated into him. This one reminded him faintly of his mother, and her stern ways and venomous tongue. Maybe that was the very reason his raging pompous nature shriveled in her midst. He persisted in standing tall, though his eyes dropped to the forest floor momentarily. "I promise you, I didn't mean to offend you. Would you please take me to see your pride?" raising his eyes from the leaves that littered the ground and meeting hers, sincerity shining in his sweet rose eyes.
In all truth, he had been considering leaving his family. Of course he loved them very much, but his father's blood rushed through his veins, making him feel simply bored with living his later years in the lands in which he was raised. This place certainly did appear appealing...
