Isn't there a rule somewhere that you must atleast try to be literate? I swear if I see any more text talk and I don't even know what to call it, other then baby babble, I'm going to freak. Have people really gotten that lazy that they can not type the actual Americanized English word? Someone wrote "funni" earlier. Really? Did you just happen to mistake the "i" for a "y"? Grr.

A rule in the TOS, you mean?
Because if you're talking religious rules, education is a HUGE deal in Judaism, which explains where a lot of the stereotypes come from.

Either. It just baffles me how uneducated people are. Of if they actually are educated, it dumbfounds me that they wish to act stupid. Like the girls who purposely act stupid to get the guy. We have a lot of those around here.
And I was doing a college workshop online today and there was a woman who was not using complete sentences, proper grammar or proper spelling. Granted it was just a workshop and, most likely, does not count towards our final grade, but I will be very interested to see this woman's essays.

And I love when they use numbers instead of the actual letters. Really? Do you think you're original or something? Becuase I gurantee I can find at least a thousand other people in your area that does that...

This pickled vegetable...There's one person in another guild I belong to who types like that. He's been asked several times by several people to stop and at least attempt to type literately. We know he's capable of it, but he just refuses. It makes me want to reach through my computer and throttle him.
Really, how hard is it to spell out "before"? Nobody accepts "b4". If a person wants to converse seriously on any matter they should at the very least make an attempts at being understood and that means typing literately!
(Thanks for letting me vent a bit.) ... could kick your a** !!

I frequently disregard paying attention to avis or usernames and look at the content of the post itself. It is the basis of how I view any user.
I'm not entirely a**l where I find a nuisance over misplaced commas or an an and an a where the other should be. However if, and I call it n00b speek too or chat-speak from the introduction of instant message days, it is too overwhemingly vexing I tend to find myself succumbing to the virtual throttle desires.

I'm an English major and aspiring writer. My inner spell check goes insane whenever i see ppl talk liek dis 4realz!!!!
I understand if people misspell things or make grammar errors, as long as I can see they're making a genuine effort. Those who use numbers and excessive abbreviations and/or punctuation marks irritate me. I don't take anyone seriously who talks like that. It's not worth my time to decipher chat-speak.

Oh, I'm so glad I am not the only one XD
But it is the internet in general that bugs me. I really think there should be a built in spell check on every site that does not allow you to post in the "text talk" I don't even text like that. I spell out everything and put proper punctuation. Then I get back all this crappy text that I can barely read! I love when people do not use periods. I have to read the multiple jumbled sentences about three times before I can decide where the sentence ends and a new one begins.

Man browse the bottles in people's aquariums. I can't think of many examples at the moment but some of the grammar is just so horrible that there's no forgiving it.
For instance there was one girl that asked "Witch do you like better?" to which I had question how much education this person had received.

I know. I post questions and get back some thing "Hai! Pik me!" Um. No. I will pick the person who actually answered my question. And I can not stand people who say "like" every two words. I do it art work to make fun of them. "Like OMG! She just like totallahy did that. Like for serious! Like like like...." And "Um." Um drives me nuts. "Can I get a um... Ummm.... A um... Number um.... one?" No! Now go take a long drive off a short pier.

Poor grammar, spelling and sentence structure is a shortcut. It lets intelligent people know who not to bother with. Our words will go over their heads and quite probably enrage them.

True. I find that when I correct people they only lash out. Like I make them feel inferior. Well... keep talking like that and you will make everyone superior to yourself.

It doesn't bother me in the least, and I take anyone who "TyPes lieK ThIs" just as seriously as I take somebody, "typing like this." Why? Because I see no reason to assume that the unconventional way of typing necessarily makes somebody stupid. To consider so would be stereotyping and generalizing. In fact I think typing unconventionally is creative and unique, because there's no rules to capitalization placement and spelling (I'm completely fine with misspelling as long as it generally resembles the word it was supposed to be so clear communication can follow.), which is funny to me in a good way.
The only thing I care about is sincere communication of meaning between two individuals, as long as the meaning is coherent I'm fine. If I find no impediment to conveying meaning by unconventional typing/writing, then I have no ill will towards it. I usually find that people who hate these ways of typing are self righteous and self aggrandizing fools, who assume that formal writing is some sign of intelligence. To me these people tend not to be very smart themselves. Because just as there's no necessary reason to believe somebody is stupid for the way they type, there's no reason to relate somebody's intelligence to the way they type.
Also the stylistic grammar you learn in school is just that. Stylistic, it's prescriptive grammar. It's just a grammar that is taught in school to keep a coherent standard of grammar in society. That in no way proves that this grammar is true, e.g Capitalizing a letter at the beginning of a sentence is correct. Why?
What is correct english is completely arbitrary.
