They treated me unkindly, they were only in it for the money. So when I was about 13, I ran away. I was never looked for after that. And Ive been traveling around and working odd jobs to just make my way. . Yeah, that about it.

Some stuff about me? Oh well thats alright I guess. Heres a sum up of my life; I was born into a rich, high in society family. Sure, I got what I wanted but I ever really had any true friends. They all just liked me because I had the newest and best toys to play with. That all changed when I decided to run away. I couldn't take it anymore. Always having to live up to such high expectations, it was just too much for me to take. So I packed up my bags and headed to a new town. I hope to find a job that way I can buy an apartment or something. For right now I just hope to make some new friends and make it through. . Yeah, that about it.

Samantha hurried past the thousands of people trying to get somewhere. Perhaps work, a job or someplace important. Sam however was trying to catch the train into the city. She too hoped to find a job there. Once the train reached the city Sam sighed a sigh of relief. She looked down at her feet and decided she was going to be quiet and unnoticed today. Samantha smiled to herself and began to walk the streets of the city, looking for places with HELP WANTED signs in the window. She finally came across a little coffee shop that had one. She smiled brightly and walked inside. It was so quiet compared to the busy, noisy streets. She found her way back to the counter. "Excuse me, but I noticed that you had a HELP WANTED sign in the window." she said softly. The woman at the counter nodded and pointed to a door. Above it read, 'Manager'. "Thank you." Samantha said quietly and walked back to the door. After talking to the manager about her situation, he handed her a resume forum. She smiled and filled it out. The man told her she could start today if she wanted and Sam couldn't have been happier. He handed her an apron and told her to just watch what they lady out front did. Samantha put on the apron and walked back to the counter. She put on a smile and sat down on a stool in the corner. She would just be god and observe for now.

And the last thing was only a bag of chips from a gas station. A heavy sigh breaking from her lips Cana looked around. There were mainly office buildings in the part of town. Since it was only afew minuets from the train station. As she walked the smell of coffee filled her noes. To her right Cana saw a cafe. Walking over to it she looked through the glass door, then walked inside. Heading to the counter she smiled warmly at the casheer. Looking at the menue behind her she skimmed it and pulled the money she had back out of her pocket. She only had $5.19. About two dollars away from getting anything at this Cafe. "Umm..." She mummbled and put the money back in her pocket. "Im afraid I dont have enough, sorry about that." Cana said turning her back to the woman and pushing open the glass door. Samantha smiled and noticed a young girl standing t the window. She looked famished, as if she hadn't eaten in days. She watched as the girl came in and looked at the menu. When she heard what the young girl stated, she felt sorry. As the girl turned to leave, Sam sighed. "Hey, wait." she called out. A few people turned and stared but eventually went back to reading their papers and books. "Would you like to sit down and talk? You look like you could use some company... plus I was just about to make something to eat." Sam said softly. Her own eyes were full of innocence. As she waited for the girl's answer, Sam got up and grabbed two plates. On one was a muffin and the other a warm bagel. She sat them down at a booth in a corner, not really sure where else to sit. She went back and grabbed two coffees. "Here ya go." she said warmly. She took her seat and patted one next to her for the girl.

Looking at the cup that was just pressed into her hand Cana hurried to sit down. Putting the cup on the table she smiled sadly at the girl across from her. "Im sorry Miss, but I wont be able to pay you back for all this." Cana said embaressed. She didnt want to tell this starnger why she couldnt, she didnt wanna tell anyone she met. But the subject always came up. Locking her eyes with the girls she shook her head, and smiled warmly. "Im sorry, Im Cana. Its nice to meet you." She said tilting her head slightly. Sam smiled warmly at the young girl. She was watching her every move. She didn't know what, but Sam definitely felt something for the girl. She listened patiently as the girl talked, and nodded occasionally. "It's fine, really. Like I said, it's on me." she said softly. Samantha locked eyes with the girl and as she said her name, became mesmerized "Such a beautiful name for such a beautiful girl..." she said. A slight blush crept across her face. "I'm Samantha, but you can just call me Sam if you want to." she said with a smile.

Looking back at her from under her eyelashes Cana smiled. "It fits very well, Sam." She said, warm grin on her lips. Picking up the cup of coffee Cana took a sip of it. The fimirilar bitterness covered her taste buds. "Really, thank you for this. I needed it." Cana's voice was almost apologetic. She felt bad for just taking advantage of someone like this. But it was an offer. Looking into the girls brown eyes Cana tilted her head. "How old are you Sam?" Cana asked. The girl looked to bee 16 or 17, but Cana was never good with that. Seeing all the different kinds of people in her travles always make her unsure. "Im seventeen myself, but I just turned about a month ago." She explained, taking another sip of her coffee. "I'm sixteen, about to turn seventeen in a few weeks." she said proudly. Samantha leaned forward a little and rested her arms on the table. (Like in her picture.)
