 Bright green eyes scanned the grassland in front of her, black tail swishing behind her lazily. Aislin was lying boneless across a mostly smooth rock, watching the wildlife around her move seamlessly through its day.
Her black nose lifted up and sniffed the various scents drifting down the breeze against her face, sighing in contentment at the earthy smell.
Her claws clicked against the stone as she stretched out her blue-furred toes, and then she shook herself to let out the pleasant chills running in her muscles from running after her kill.
The female had just eaten and was now lounging under the warm sun, stomach full and a happy buzz coursing through her.

Seizken greeted each day differently than the next. Though to him these grasslands he now called home. They were his escape from his past. Recently these lands had begun to change him for the better, helping him realize he wasn't his past...
The sun was shining bright as it could, as he lay beneath a tree."Today is looking to be pretty nice," he said as he stretched his white paw out in front of him. Bright days like this made him not really want to move. It was as if the sun had awaken how tired he really was, in the heat of the day.
Inside he knew he must move eventually for he had run out of food. Though for now he just wanted to lay there and take in the sun. Who knew what lay around him and if their may be some unexpected company in his future.

Aislin was practically cooing inside at the feel of her beige and black fur absorbing the heat of the sun, and her eyes slid shut. The feel of this was wonderful, and even better, there was no one around to bother her. Well, at least that she could see, which is why she made a point of not looking. Easier to ignore something if you don't know it's there, right? Tilting her head down, she gave a few swipes of her tongue against her chest and upper legs, having decided that a little bit of grooming would make it even more enjoyable.
However, the lioness suddenly came to an abrupt halt. While she was full of food now, another problem had just arisen, judging by the slight dryness of her throat. Perhaps cleaning herself, and thus rubbing most of the moisture off of her tongue, was not the best of choices, because it left her mouth with a scratchy feeling.
A scowl on her face, Aislin opened her eyes and glared at the grass in front of her. Then, with a sigh, she rolled her eyes. "Great." Heaving herself up to her feet, she slipped off the rock and, glancing left and right briefly, began to slink away to the nearest waterhole she could find. The sooner she got over her thirst, the sooner she could go back to her after-meal lounge.

The more sun that his white and black fur absorbed, the more thirsty his mouth became. For what seemed like hours he tried to ignore the dry sensation in his mouth, but he knew that he could not ignore it forever. So he laid there for a few more minutes longer as his daydreams wandered to far off lands where he seemed to belong. A new place with other lions and friends who seemed to accept him. As the land in his dreams flourished so did the smile on his slightly napping face.
Then his dry throat forced him to wake, making his dream home vanish. He grumpily stood on to his feet and stretched his legs. "Why did I have to move ..." he said with a loud moan as he shook the daydream from his head. If only his throat hadn't gotten so dry he could have stayed there for awhile longer. So he decided he would find the nearest watering hole and then return to his spot below that wonderful tree. "I must hurry." he said as he was slightly also afraid another may find comfort below his tree. So he sped at high speed towards where ever the nearest water may be at.

The ground felt warm beneath her paws, which made it all the more difficult to motivate herself into getting something to drink. She let out a huff, frustrated that the earth seemed to be mocking her for this, and then lifted her head up to start sniffing out a nearby water source. Her eyes were closed to take in the scents, before she started moving once more. Her eyes opened slowly and she scanned the area as she walked on.
Finally, after a little while had passed, Aislin let a tiny smile (closer to a smirk, really) grow on her face as she spotted a dip in the ground that could only be a waterhole. Sure enough, when she sped up closer, she could see water in it. Tail giving a few pleased flicks behind her, she trotted up to the edge of the pool.
The lioness leaned forward, eying her reflection for a second, and then lowered her head to begin lapping at it.

As he ran he could feel the ground become slightly softer. Which he knew had ment water was very nearby, so he slowed to a slower pace and glanced around. Sure enough there was a watering hole only a few feet from him. He might actually make it back to his tree after all he thought.
As he step toward the watering hole he noticed someone else had beat him here. It appeared to be a lioness with dark like colorings much different from some of his furs lighter shades. Unsure if he should approach the female or not he thought for a moment. Within that moment he devised a plan, maybe he could just grab one drink and sneak out without bother the female. Yes that was perfect! That way each got what they wanted, she could drink and so could he without bothering one another.
So he slowly edged towards the water, though as he did a part of him realized that company might be good to have as well. As he came up close to the female he lowered his head to the waters edge and began to lap the water as fast as his tounge would go.

She had to admit, the cool feeling of water going down her throat made it worth the effort. Granted, she was sure she would be disgruntled when she had to make her way back, but for now, she was satisfied. She was beginning to enjoy her drink, ignoring her surroundings for the time being... until she faintly heard the sound of lapping close by.
Freezing for a moment, Aislin glanced through narrowed eyes at the lion who had shown up. 'Figures.' She seemed to be having bad luck right now, but thankfully, he seemed to want to be left alone as well, judging by how quickly he was drinking.
.. Actually, she was beginning to wonder how he managed to drink that quickly without it going down the wrong tube. 'If only I were that lucky.' Her ear twitched as she continued lapping a bit, eying the white male in the corner of her eye. Finally, she sighed, rolled her eyes and said, "You're going to choke if you keep swallowing that fast," before closing her eyes and going back to her drink.

As soon as he heard the female raise her head and speak he forgot all about the water. As soon as he took one last swallow and looked over towards her he began to choke. As he choked he still tried to speak,"Looks ... like you ... jinxed me..." he finished still coughing up a storm. Guess it went down the wrong way, he thought silently to himself. As soon as he stopped coughing he chuckled a tad bit and wiped his mouth with his left paw. "Guess you could see the future. Though I thought you might want to be left alone, so I didn't want to stay to long incase I bothered you," he said as he waited to see what the female would say. Even though inside his hear females weren't really the company he was looking for, after his ex love left him with a broken-heart and broken trust.

Aislin scoffed at the words he said between coughing, but said nothing in her defense, because let's be real. It probably was partially her fault. She took a few more gulps before tilting her head up at him and shrugging. "I only wanted a quick drink before I go back to my nap."
She rolled her shoulders as she straightened back up, and raised an eyebrow at him. "Beside, it's a free country. No need to rush simply because you think you're stepping on someone's toes." With that, she raised a paw and began cleaning off the tips of her claws. May as well take care of this now. That way, she could just take a few more laps of water... then leave and not come back. Because, contrary to what she was saying, she actually really didn't want him there, but these were rogue lands, ergo there weren't any rules about sharing waterholes.

"Oh I see, well naps are definitely good during this time a day. I know I've been taking alot of them lately..." Seizken said as he carefully had a few more gulps of water. In his head he knew that the naps he was talking about were probably far from the naps she was talking of. His were because his heart felt to heavy to move or do anything, while hers probably were just for some alone time.
As he finished his drink he listened to her reply. Her reply was actally insiteful and right, and that in itelf completely surprised him. He wasn't used to females giving such good pointers before. Though before he opened his mouth to speak he watched her actions for a few moments. "I suppose your right, though to be honest you didn't want me or anyone else here did you?" he questioned her. In all honesty he just said the first thing that came to his mind, though why that came to his mind he wasn't sure. Maybe because when he first got here he was hoping for it to be clear of females due to his past. Though now he was kind of glad he found this female to talk to even if he wouldn't admit it...

Acid green eyes slid lazily back towards the lion as Aislin let out a grunt, mid-lick. "Yes well. I am a rogue, and have been my whole life." Her paw was set back down and she shrugged. "I'm not exactly... used to being near other lions, nor do I really feel like doing so at any point in time. It is the way I am and will likely continue to be for a while yet."
She paused here, shifting her sight up at passing cloud, before snorting and shaking her head. "Of course, that still doesn't change the fact that this water does not belong to me, nor do I lay claim to the rocks or the grass around it. So as much as I don't want to socialize or well... go near people, period, sometimes I just have to suck it up in order to get what I want."
The lioness' ears flicked back once, and she continued "You won't get anywhere if you just keep running away." At that, her tail curled around over her newly cleaned paws and she leaned forward to get her last few gulps of water.

As he listened to her part him did believe that she had always been away from other lions. Wasn't there at least one point in time in she had someone by her side? He wouldn't dare say that out loud of course. "I see well your not the only one. I will admit I'm not to keen on being around female lions right now," Seizken said as that female's face popped into his mind, "Not after her...though yet i am enjoying your company oddly..." he whispered not sure if she heard of not as he took a few more licks of water.
"True I guess the water, rocks, and grass are the one thing no one can truly say they own," Seizken said with a bellowed laugh. Laughing wasn't something he had done lately but it felt good.
"Your right I won't but sometimes it seems easier to just run. That way you risk not being hurt," he said knowing that probably wasn't exactly what she was talking about. Though that is what her words had meant to him.

Aislin relished the feel of the water running down her throat, especially as she would likely finish her nap and then move on somewhere else. Still, she listened with one ear as he answered back.
One eye opened to a slit when he mentioned not wanting to be around female lions, but she didn't catch what he had whispered after that. Although, judging by the look on his face, he was probably reminiscing over something or other. His past? She supposed it made sense, considering what he had just said. However, she said nothing in reply to this. She was never one to really get involved in another's problem, and this would definitely qualify.
Closing her eye again, she finished off her drink and, licking her mouth for any remaining droplets, lifted herself back up. She glanced over at him again as he finished talking, and gave a light scoff. "True enough. Can't even describe how many times I've done that." She muttered that last part quietly, and then tilted her head to the side to think. Then, ear twitching, she replied, "But hurt is a part of life. You won't grow if you don't experience and learn from it."
As she said the words, she paused to wonder how many times she had run away from her own problems... such as communicating with others. Typically, the ones she ended up speaking to were just obnoxious, but perhaps that was because they were the only ones brave enough to do so?
She gave a quick shake of her head and mentally shoved the thought to the back of her mind for the time being.
