DMv2 no longer exists, which was supposed to help with inflation. I wonder how long it will take before we see a drop in the marketplace prices? Aquarium Dolphins re going for 720,000 gold, Bibbles is more expensive than ever at 7,100,000 gold, Merlin's Hat by Dernier*Cri is 15,000,000 gold.

I hope that there will be a change soon, before Gaia takes Booty Grabbing away entirely! sad

I would think as long as they keep cranking out expensive in the cash shop, there will be no drop. They blamed the Dolphins and DM, but they in fact can only blame themselves.

I still think that booty grab is being used as a scape goat. If they wanted to do something about inflation then they would stop producing RIG's.

Yes, of course it's their scapegoat. Gaia will not stop the production of RIGs though, because they generate sales of GC. Kids with summer jobs = more $10 and $25 GC sold.

And, since Dolphins were removed from the cash shop, the price of all other fish / mini's has skyrocketed.

I think any 'de-inflation' benefits will take time to manifest.

Dolphinmania was a popular BG site but as noted was not the only place to get booty grab gold.

Dolphins have been removed from store but there are still lots of dolphins out there. I have 80 or 90 dolphins besides the ones in my tanks.

Of course dolphin prices are high on MP because they are now a 'rare' fish not available in stores.

Pan's journal says Gaia plans to fix the freezer and ghost fish glitches. So far they have not done so. When they do that will start the clock ticking for a whole lot of fish to die off = less high end tanks to grab from = less gold into the community from BG.

She said she thought the way they are going to do it is make the fish just born on the day they make the fix. (i.e. like you just bought them) That means for dolphins the time until you see a difference = 4 months plus the time until they do the fix.

Other fish prices will steady out once Gaia introduces a new booty grab fish and/or the community figures out what existing fish is the new booty grab fish and/or Gaia nerfs BG into oblivion and the only purpose of buying a fish is as a 'pretty'.

My point is Gaia has acknowledged this is a problem they created over time. The fixes won't 'fix' it overnight. I don't know how much fish / booty grab changes will affect inflation but I know not enough time has passed to really say it has or hasn't worked.

You're probably right, David. I'm just being impatient! smile

Personally I'm all for a slow change in terms of the effects of booty grab. Gaia COULD make a larger impact now but it would probably involve knee-jerk reactions like an unfair adjustment to DOD of fish that have been in the freezer, nerfing fish and booty grab much more drastically and so on.
