Chryssy sighed. She'd been spending everyday for as long as she could remember willing herself and her bestest friend Dwyn to grow. All their other friends had grown up and gone away, and even Calandra had left, and they had been all alone this whole time.
She felt herself waking, but kept her eyes closed. She pushed at her powers again, wishing with all her might. "Volve us," she whispered. Chryssy opened her eyes, then, staring at Dwyn, squealed loudly enough to wake the... well... to wake something very deeply asleep.

Dwyn yelped and stumbled away from her a bit. "What? What?"

"It worked! I did it! I 'volved us! I mean... we... we evolved! We... we grew! Dwyn! Look! We're adults now!" She kissed him impulsively, so thrilled she wanted to dance.
