"Just a city boy~ Born and raised in South Detroit~ He took the midnight train going anywhere~"
Deirdre watched the stage with wide eyes. She'd never seen a musical before, let alone a live one, and it was a magical experience. Aunt Lisa was one of the background singers, but it was the main couple she watched.
The way they moved, the way they poured their hearts out~ She was practically buzzing in her seat atop Adrian's lap.
Her father, however, was leaned back as far as he could in the tiny seat to keep the people behind him from poking his shoulder again. His legs were smooshed up against the seat in front of him, and he felt an ache in his twisted spine. Culture? Yes, great idea. Public theater? Hell on earth.

Kaito leaned forward with interest. How come their family didn't take them to these musicals more often? Though he did have to admit that while he enjoyed the music and the intensity of the main singers he was missing fight scenes. The toddler grinned as he imagined several things happening on stage before shaking his head to focus back on the actual production.
Lyoko smiled warmly as she watched her children watching the musical. She really enjoyed these family outings. Though she did have to admit this was definitely different from the kabuki plays that she had watched growing up in Japan.
Plus- Lyoko grinned as she looked at her poor squished husband. "Next time dear maybe we should buy seats in a more private area. Or at least on the front row." She whispered in between scenes.

Deirdre leaned over to place her hand on Kaito's leg, pointing to the lead couple as they did a dance number. "Wanna do that." She looked at him, nodding her head. After all, if they could do it, why not she?
The performance was coming to an end, and she was so wrapped up in it that she didn't notice her father's continuous shifting.
"Or in the back." He murmured irritably, rolling his shoulders. He couldn't help, but chuckle at himself. "At least their having fun." Honestly, he didn't know if the children would even like the musical, but it looked like a hit.

"Wanna do that?" Kaito blinked as he looked back and forth between his twin and the dancing. With a sigh he nodded his consent, "Buh afta it ends." It was getting pretty dramatic at this point and sheepishly he had to admit it was entertaining.
Leaning forward on his mother's lap the boy found himself engrossed in the musical again.
Lyoko raised her hand to cover her laugh, "Oh my. We could buy out a row and sit you sideways, dear. Maybe you'd fit that way." For once she was glad that she barely made it to 5'6 in height. "Yes." She smiled at her husband after taking a peek at their children, "We really should do this more often."

Adrian frowned and laughed sardonically. "Haha, funny, dear." He mentally cursed his grandfather's dormant DNA and his inability to have gotten the other end from his creole father. "We should. Next time, we get here early and pick better seats."
"Keep ooonnnnnnnnn~ Don't stop!"
And just like that, it was over. People were standing up and clapping/whooping, Adrian among them, simply because it gave him an excuse to stand. He held Deirdre in his arms as she clapped furiously, screaming out with the other crowd members.
When she saw Lisa come to the front, she screamed, "Yay, Auntie! Auntie Lisa!"
The woman had the graces to blush and wave back before disappearing back stage.
"Would you like to see her?" Adrian smiled, looking down into her eyes.
"Uh, huh! Can we please?"

Lyoko smiled at Adrian, "Alright. We'll do that. Though I've heard of even some outdoor theaters that do evening productions. They sound interesting as well."
Lyoko clapped politely while Kaito thumped his tail against the seats to add to the sound of his own clapping. "Yay! Go auntie!" He laughed after she disappeared while smiling happily up at Adrian, "Could we really do that?" He gasped looking at the stage. To go there to...to behind everything!
"Mmm. We can do that." Lyoko smiled as Kaito grabbed her hand and started pulling them out of their row. Already people were leaving and Lyoko stood to the side waiting for her husband and daughter, "Lead the way, monsieur."

An outdoor production? How quant and peasant like. One day soon they'd have to go see one.
Adrian ruffled his son's hair and kissed the boy's forehead. "Of course you can, my young Prince. It all depends on how well you can sing." Wouldn't that be something, though? Which one, if not both, of his children could sing.
He laughed and gave her a half-bow before taking her hand, Deirdre's in the other as she tugged. "This way, it's this way!" Sure enough, she was right. Straight through a set of doors were the main bulk of the theater company in various stages of wind down mode.
Which is why Adrian covered Deirdre's eyes. "Haha, look, surprise!" Awkwardly, he scooped her up and carried her back to Lisa's room.
Lisa, on the other hand, had spotted Lyoko from a co-worker's dressing room and waved. "Hey, in here!"

"Sing?" Kaito looked scared at the thought. Even if he could ever do such a thing - he couldn't, no he wouldn't do it publicly. Let those people do it for others, not him. Nodding the toddler followed his family down to where the theater company was.
"Oh my." Lyoko flushed lightly before copying Adrian's actions with Kaito who squirmed in her grasp. "It's fine, Kaito." She whispered before spotting Lisa. "Konbanwa!" She called out before remembering to switch back to English. "Oh, Lisa. Should we wait in your room?" She asked as she watched her husband disappear into Lisa's dressing room.
"Can I see now?" Kaito mumbled from beneath his mother's hand. Lyoko shushed him quietly under her breath before letting the toddler peek at a safe area and hiding his eyes again.

Lisa laughed, leaning up against the door frame at their actions. "I would have warned you if I knew you were coming. Wait a second and I'll come with you." She turned around, decked out in her stage clothing to grab a couple things off the counter and kiss the cheek of a fellow worker before leaving.
She blew a raspberry on Kaito's head. "Not yet, squirt. You don't want to go blind, do you?" She motioned with her head back to her room and opened the door.
Adrian still hand his hand over a now irritable Deirdre's eyes. He visibly sighed and let her loose.
Lisa huffed. "What? Afraid I'd come in naked?"
"Wouldn't be the first time."
"It's not like I don't have anything that she doesn't."
"Now."

Lyoko actually laughed, "It's okay. I guess our random whims do tend to come with consequences like this." Holding onto Kaito she followed Lisa into her dressing room.
"Blind?" Kaito gasped before burrowing closer to his mother's cool body, "No!" He added hastily before closing his eyes tighter. He liked being able to see and nothing would rob that of him. Definitely.
Once they were in the room Lyoko let Kaito go and the boy ran to his twin and latched onto her. "It was dangrous. We coulda gone blind, Deirdre."
Lyoko grinned at her husband and her now sister-in-law. Covering her mouth she just shook her head with amusement before looking over at the children. Kaito was currently scanning the odd tiny room as he held onto Deirdre.

Random, indeed! Had Lisa not heard her niece and nephew in the crowd she wouldn't have known her family was even here. It was a pleasant surprise, though.
Deidre clung to Kaito, wrapping her arms around his head in a protective hold. "Blind? I don't wanna be blind, Kaito!" What a close call! Being blind was like one of the worst things possible and she didn't want to have her sight taken from her.
Adrian passed a droll stare at Lisa, who shrugged and started taking off her make-up. "Children. I'm sure that if you asked nicely, your Aunt will take you up on stage and let you practice, if you wanted to."

"Me either!" Kaito gave a small whimper before snuggling against his twin, "But it's otay, I'll protect you. Kay Deirdre?" His head wiggled out from his sister's hold though at the mention of going on stage.
"Oh my." Lyoko just smiled at their children before lacing her arms around Adrian's waist. "It did save their eyesight, dear." She whispered lightly before grinning at Kaito and Deirdre. "Oh! I'm sure she wouldn't mind at all, right Lisa?"
"Can we really?" Kaito stared up at his aunt before blinking sheepishly, "Is it safe out there though?" His tail twitched as he remembered the whole blind fear.
Lyoko laughed before looking over at Lisa, "Surely that threat is passed by now right?" She asked trying her best to look serious despite things.
