Zutnic gazed over the mountain side to the plain below. The sun was just rising behind the range of mountains causing their shadows to be cast over the western land. It was a treat Zutnic enjoyed every morning. He rose before the sun to watch the stars and the stillness of the lands.
Recently he and his older brother had discovered something disturbing. Signs of foul play in the forests. (*Note: This RP is set before the flock moved and before the RP between Aviania & Zutnic) There were strange 'creatures' that held stallions as prisoners. A matriarch society... Vicious and cruel by the looks of their practices.
Duse had reffed to these beings as 'evil' and Zutnic believed it. He looked up to his brother and found him incapable of a falsehood.
His feathers bristled at the thought of such an evil creature. By far the worst they had encountered... They will be brought to justice. This he vowed.

As morning broke over the mountain ridge and chased the lingering veil of night away once more a small beam of sunlight poured in through one of the cracks of the crumbling den's walls. The gryphon's eyes scrunched as the light cast a golden tail across his face. With a loud groan, he lifted his beak off his crossed hooves and took a deep breath. His chest swelled as he parted his beak and drew in a long, gaping yawn.
Grunting, he rose up off the ground and shook himself out. A few stray feathers fluttered to the air around him. Stretching his wings out, he clopped his way to the mouth of the cave and lifted his head.
Curious enough, his younger brother was already laying awake, looking out towards the rising sun. "Trouble sleeping then?"

Zutnic side glanced at his brother when he was addressed.
"A bit... Just thinking of how to deal with those... beings." He sighed. "We need to figure out their nest before anything can happen. Going in there blind isn't wise."
Zutnic frowned. "With the amount of slaves they have we can assume they are not at all mindless."

Deus hackled at the mention of the abominations. The hideous creatures... cursed from the sky and the ground alike. Their sinful tendencies only deepened their grotesque nature. He took a deep breath and stepped beside his brother, eyes narrowing.
"Slavery....to rob one of their lives, to break their will, and to abuse and neglect. Such actions cannot be tolerated. Not in our domain." He nodded out towards the mountains. "I feel we are growing close...we must watch the herds of the earth. Surely they will swoop down upon the week and draw up their victims..."

Zutnic nodded slowly to his brothers words. Who knows how many more they had captured just in the night.
"No, and I fear that we might not be able to do this by ourselves. Not easily anyways..." He glanced at his brother. "Perhaps we might be able to find others who are willing to help us with this task? I will see if I can't find more on their nest later today."
Zut looked back over to the scenery unsure of what his brother would think of that.

"Nay...", Deus shook his head sharply and turned himself about, wings opening slightly. "Just in the night, they may have captured more...or recruited more to their cause. We are losing ground."
He clicked his beak in irritation, eyes narrowing as he lifted his head upwards. The sky was only partly cloudy, it would likely break up towards mid-day. Perfect flying conditions.
"We need to recruit more. As they are focused on their numbers, so must we. The longer we spend looking at their growth, the less time we are devoting to our own."

"True my Brother, however we cannot go in there and save the enslaved if we do not know what battle field we will be on. We can't spend time figuring it out while in combat. No doubt their slaves will be guarded and it shall come to a fight... regrettable, but we know it is coming."
Zutnic sighed. He was never fond of the idea of fighting mares, nor was he fond of evil deeds.
"Perhaps we can split the tasks? I can spy on them while you look for more who will fight for the cause... I already know their general area more than you. It shouldn't take long."

"It seems we both have... very difficult tasks ahead of us." Deus tipped his head to one side in thought, his eyes growing distant. On one hand, it would cover more ground. Recruiting took time, as did scouting. To recruit he would first have to locate potential allies. Of course they would have to be able-bodied, able-minded, and able-spirited. It wouldn't be enough, however. Their battleground was the sky and the highlands. A set of strong wings was a must. Not only that, but anyone found weak in spirit or reserve would likely succumb to the harpey's tricks...
Scouting was equally difficult. Zutnik would be in enemy territory, alone. He would have to watch his step, sleep lightly and as infrequently as possible. Hunting would be out of the question.
However, the more time they spent debating a course of action meant there was more time for the harpies to move. They outnumbered them greatly, and their territory was growing quickly. Every minute was a minute to the enemy's advantage, and perhaps one more drop of spilled innocent blood.
"Very well." He said, drawing in a deep breath. "You scout...but eat before you do and see that you are well rested. I will fly the skies for any that will join our cause. With any luck, those abominations will see due judgment rain down from the sky."

Zutnic nodded slowly. He was already aware of all the dangers that he would be facing and the risks that came with it. "I intend to. You take care as well... not everyone you encounter will be 'friendly' either. "
He knew that his brother didn't need to be told to be careful. Deus had everything together for the most part. It was just one way of relaying that he cared for his brother's safety.

"I am hardly concerned for my own welfare." He opened his wings and took a few slow steps towards the edge of the rock's face. "Keep a level head and remember our purpose. If you lose sight of that, you loose your footing and even a weak foe can overcome."
With that, he launched himself outwards. Beating his powerful wings and kicking at the air, Deus was airborn. Now to locate some allies... it was perhaps best to start in the lowlands and work himself up towards the mountains.

Zutnic gave his brother a slow nod than watched him take to the skies.
With a deep breath he too approached the cliff's edge. He leapt from the edge and took to the skies himself with a beat of his wings. He would land just outside of the forest to keep from being noticed...
