Today she'd promised Roman she would show him how to rollerblade. Of course the toddler was too young to really know anything about it, but that wasn't her problem.
Elisabetta sat back in a pair of daisy dukes and a yellow tube top, her little brother on her lap as she strapped on his kiddy skates. The whole rink was buzzing with energy, which gave her a really good feeling.
Unfortunately, the same couldn't be said about Roman. He said stiffly on her lap, arms crossed over his chest and a growl in his throat. He didn't dare move, lest one of her tentacles reach out to hold him still. They creeped him out. She creeped him out. When was she going to stop touching him?
"There! All done." She picked him up and sat him on the ground with a snicker. They hadn't been able to buy new knee pads, so he was stuck with Bailey's left over Pretty Princess ones.
Roman frowned. "Stop." He tried to walk away from her, but one leg when out infront of the other and he dropped to the ground.
"Careful, kiddo. You gotta take it easy." She stood up on her roller blades and scooped him up before skating to the edge of the rink. Yep, today was going to either be a great day or a total disaster.
She just wasn't sure which one.

"Kal, you know I don't skate," Vincent and his younger brother were arguing for the sixth time on their way to the rollerskating rink. "You know I don't skate. I can't. I'll fall over and look stupid. What if there's someone we know there?"
"You won't look stupid if you're trying," Kaleb said with a slight smile. "Anyway, if it bothers you that much, you can turn the car around. We don't have to go." He knew his brother was too stubborn to refuse to go. "Besides, I have a feeling."
Vinny hesitated, pulling into the rollerskating rink's parking lot. "What kind of feeling?" he asked as they went inside.
"Isn't that your girlfriend?" the younger boy asked, pointing vaguely in Lissy's direction.

Lissy hadn't noticed her boyfriends arrival at all. In fact, she was too busy keeping Roman from attacking the random strangers who reached down to help him up when he fell. He kept falling forward, which was weird, and all at once she was happy he had hand pads.
She circled him, grasping his shoulders with a yank. Roman grasped her fore arms, slowly rising with a deep breath before he started flailing and did a split. He instantly cried out and rolled over onto his side.
"Roman!" With the help of her tentacles, she scooped up the toddler and started to go off the rink with him, when she came up short upon seeing her boyfriend. "Vinny? ....And friend?"

Kaleb had been just about to drag Vincent onto the rink before he noticed that the girlfriend he had previously pointed out to his brother was talking to them.
"Brother, actually," Vinny said with a smile. "Who's your friend?" he asked, looking at Roman. "Are you alright?" he asked, concerned. The poor toddler. What was Lissy thinking, bringing a toddler to a skating rink? "This is Kaleb," he added, before he could ask why she had been so silly as to bring him--he decided that would be rude.
"Do you guys want something to eat?" Kaleb asked, ever willing to buy something for another. "There's nachos. We could share them."

"....No way! Kaleb?" Lissy's mouth hung open as she openly stared at the preteen, slowly working her way from his head to his feet. "Wow, you're really big now. And super cute. The last time I saw you you were his age." She gestured to Roman.
The irritable toddler crossed his arms and glared at the boys, cocking his fangs up in a snarl. So long as they kept their distance, he could stay calm. He gave a little nod to Vincent before hissing in a grumbly manner, "Bro'der."
"Yep, thats right." Lissy piped in. "This is Roman, my new little bro. He's a twin, but their opposites and sometimes it pays off to give them some alone time." She remembered the last time it happened and wasn't willing to repeat the day. The teenager bounced her little brother off her hip, her longer tentacle wrapping around him to hold him in place. "Really? Thanks, Kaleb. Thats a great idea."
Even Roman had to agree. Anything that didn't involve skating was wonderful to him.

Kaleb smiled as Lissy recognized him. "It's been a while," he said, studying her in turn. "You've grown too." And she was prettier than he remembered, he decided. Curse his hormones! He went to order the nachos, blushing and rubbing at his forehead. Stupid itch.
"Nice to meet you, Roman," Vinny said with a smile. He wasn't very friendly, was he? Oh well, the older spawn figured it was his dna. "Do you want to sit down?" he asked, gesturing to a table near the snack vendors. "I haven't seen you since the fireworks." He paused, and glanced at the rink. "Maybe after, you guys can skate," he said. "I'm really bad at it, so I won't."

She hadn't missed Kaleb's actions from behind. Last time she'd seen him, she hadn't seen the slits, but maybe they'd grown in over time. Elisabetta passed it off. Nothing to do now, but smile and laugh.
Roman glowered at Vincent as Lissy walked them over to the table and sat him down. Immediately he scrambled to the back of his seat, legs curled up incase he needed to spring.
"You can't be that bad." She laughed, at both her brother and her boyfriend. "I'll teach you. And Roman too. It's easy, once you get the hang of it."

"He likes you," Vincent observed, having not missed Kaleb's actions. His younger brother had been rubbing at his forehead all week--and Vinny had experience with that kind of thing, so he wasn't exactly eager for his slits to open. "I am that bad," he muttered. "I can't even stand still on skates. I always fall." At the promise of being taught, he smiled. Maybe he could learn to skate--maybe he could impress his girlfriend that way. As long as he didn't fall and get laughed at.
He sat down, and gave Roman a smile. "Do you like skating?" he asked.
Kaleb soon returned with a basket of nachos. "I didn't know what everyone wanted on them, so I got a bit of everything," he said sheepishly. "Mostly cheese, though. And beans, I think. They're good." The preteen was actively looking anywhere but at Lissy.

Lissy tucked one leg underneath herself as she sat down, watching Kaleb liked Vincent. Wasn't that a good thing, that he liked her? At least he didn't hate her. She tucked a strand of loose hair behind her ear with a snort. "No one is that bad. Your not giving yourself enough credit." Like always.
Roman looked up at Vincent and hurriedly shook his head. He hated skating. Girls were the agile ones, not boys. He was tired of hitting the floor.
But, he did perk up when he smelt something. Something good. Roman's sensitive nose sniffed, then again, and finally he turned around, standing up in his seat to watch Kaleb with a hungry expression.
Lissy grabbed a nacho and snipped it in a half before eating it, unaware of Roman dipping his claws into the bean dip. "Mmm, their really good, Kaleb." Why wasn't he...did she have something on her face? Self consciously, she took a swipe with the back of her hand.

"No really, I'm not being humble or anything," Vincent protested. "I really am that bad." Why was it that everytime he admitted to being bad at something--okay, maybe he knew why. "I really do fall. I'm just not--build for this kind of stuff." His tail twitched nervously. Girls were graceful, they had the right kind of body. It wasn't fair, not at all fair.
He nodded in agreement towards Roman. "I think I'd like it better if I were good at it," he said.
"You're welcome," Kaleb said, looking slightly sheepish. He tried to hide the blush forming on his cheeks with his hair. "Glad you like them."

Elisabetta gave him the 'uh-huh-ya-right' look before munching on another nacho. She looked out at the rink and tried to picture him on it. And for some reason, her inner Vinny fell flat on his face. Maybe he is right. "Then you would really such at my job. OH! I didn't tell you did I." She leaned forward excitedly. "I got a new job- well, an old new job- as a skating waitress before I got hired as a intern for this modeling company. Isn't that awesome?!"
Roman licked his finger tips, suckling on the claws at he watched the others. Then, out of a sidelong glance, he saw Lissy smile at Kaleb before blabbering on about her new job. And he didn't miss the way Kaleb looked. Ever so bluntly, he leaned over, "You kay? Your red."

"Probably would," Vinny agreed, before blinking. He listened as she told him about her new job. "That's awesome! Congrats!" he said with a smile. "I'm still working on getting one," he added. "Still babysitting." He paused, and a frown slowly made its way across his face. "Wait. A modeling company?" he asked, studying his girlfriend.
"Aren't models the people who get pictures taken all the time and never get to spend time with their boyfriends?" he crossed his arms. "I get pictures, right? You'll give me some?"
Kaleb willed himself to stop blushing and gave Roman a smile. "I'm fine," he said.

She twirled a stick of nacho before popping it into her mouth. Guiltily, she lowered her eyes on the table and fidgeted. Honestly, she hadn't know how Vinny was going to react to the news, so, here she was. "I'm just an intern now, but I want to be a model, ya. I think it would be fun."
She stiffened up in her chair. "They get to spend plenty of time with their boyfriends. Same as anyone else who works." Lissy pointed out. "And you can have as many as you want when I start taking them, so long as you buy a magazine." Done, and done.
Roman stood up in his chair and reached out to point at Kaleb's cheek. "Nuh uh." The toddler crossed his arms over his tiny chest, giving the preteen a droll stare. "Weird. Boys who do dat date goils." Or so he'd been told.

Vincent gave his girlfriend the 'As long as you're happy' look, combined with a shrug. He really didn't like the idea of having to share his Lissy--but then, he really wanted her to be happy, too. "Really?" he asked, brightening. "I'll buy every magazine you ever sell."
Kaleb blushed, "Your sister's pretty," he confessed, trying to sound as uninterested as possible. He wasn't about to say she made him feel awkward and twitchy and--nevermind. He rubbed at his forehead. "I'm fine though, really."

Elisabetta leaned back in her chair, and bounced her leg on her knee, tapping the skates against them. "That's ridiculous, Vinny. ....but sweet." She smiled and hopped up, making little circles next to the table.
The toddler, however, wasn't so easily swayed in the other direction. He just frowned and snuggled back down in his chair. "Don't believe."
Lissy spun and stopped, then smiled. A big disco ball was dropping from the ceiling, the music was playing and the equipment was being set up. "Oh my gosh! C'mon guys, let's go play!"
