Pasha climbed down the rocky hill into the valley. At a certain time of year this place would be carpeted with a lush covering of plants and flowers. Right now though there was only a few hints of plants that hadn't been up torn up by hungry herbivores and those few that remained looked like they'd wilted long ago.
She'd come hoping to find a goat or two but her luck that day had been terrible and it wasn't changing fast.

There had been a goat there earlier, but by now Pasha was s**t out of luck. Someone had already come across it, and it was long dead now. A rather average looking (at least upon first glance) snow leopard was leaning over it, tearing into it and devouring the flesh. Far too busy doing this, she didn't notice the newcomer approach.

Luck is what you make of it, Pasha reminded herself as she rounded the rocky outcrop and caught sight of the stranger helping herself to a rather large helping of goat. She licked her lips. One goat is a lot of meat for one cat. And if the other's hunger had been sated enough she may be too lazy to bother defending the carcass.
As quietly as she could manage she backed off and set about finding another less conspicuous route that would get her close to the other without being noticed.

The grey snow leopard snarled a little bit, not because she had spotted Pasha, but because she was just that into her meal. Ripping off a large chunk, she chewed on it contentedly, her snarl switching to something closer to a purr. It was good. It was damn good.

Pasha repositioned herself behind the other. There weren't many places to hide in the tundra so the fact that the other girl was so into her meal was a huge aid in keeping Pasha out of view.
When she felt the time was right she charge forward, hoping to scare the other off in one fel swoop.

The other leopard was almost upon her before Poso realized she was there. Her red eyes widened, just for a second, then quickly narrowed in anger. With a loud snarl, she quickly rolled out of the way, but was fast to get back on her feet and charge back. The goat was -her- meal, and she didn't plan on sharing it.

She hesitated for a moment, trying to figure out what to do next. The plan had been to scare off her rival, not engage in a full out blow to blow fight. Run? Or bet on the chance it could be a bluff?
Not wanting to risk injury just yet she circled the other, snarling fiercely.

Poso stood over her kill, staring down the other female. She was not the sharing type, and as far as she was concerned, the other leopard had attacked her anyway. She was a threat, and would be dealt with as such.

Pasha hesitated again. The other female wasn't getting scared off. She was standing her ground and unlike Pasha she probably wasn't bluffing.
She glanced longingly at that kill then quickly back to Pasa. Perhaps it would be wiser to come back later and try to scavenge the corpse.
She lowered her head and backed off planning to turn and run when she was far enough away.

She watched the other snow leopard carefully, jaws still arranged into a snarl. Her red eyes flashed one last warning, and then she settled back down and tore off another hunk of meat, almost as if she was teasing the other female. Perhaps she was.

Pasha circled back around to the rocky outcrop. It wasn't much of a hiding place but it was all she had. From there she licked her chops as she watched the other female tear yet another huge chunk out of the goat.
Her stomach rumbled and she backed off a little further ears flat against her head.

With the other no longer around, Poso grinned and continued to tear into her food. She figured the other female could very well be lying in wait for her leftovers, so she was tempted to scarf it all down. Except, there was no way she would be able to eat it all. She could tear it all to shreds though... She pondered that while she continued to fill her own belly.

After a while of waiting, watching, and mulling the whole situation over in her mind Pasha decided to quietly sulk away and try to hunt a bit more before returning for the carcass later.
It was unlikely that she'd catch anything as bit as a goat so a bit of extra free meat would go a long way. The only thing she worried about was if the other female would guard the corpse.

When she had eaten her fill, Poso flopped down, her mouth stretching into a large yawn. Goats always made her sleepy. Purring contentedly, she left the leftovers alone, and rolled over on her side, her tail swishing across the ground, creating a soothing swishswish noise. She could use a good nap.

After a lot of sniffing about and a bit of digging Pasha had managed to dig out and eat only a couple of small mice. She made her way back to the sight of Poso's kill hoping the other female had eaten what she could and gone off on her merry way.
When she saw that the other was still at the sight she nearly simply gave up and left. But when she noticed that the other was barely moving she stayed to watch.
