"So then I said to him, I said 'how come you're not a hero?' and he said 'Because I don't know what a hero is!' Can you honestly believe that?"
The lizard blinked at her, clearly not sure whether his safety was in jeopardy. So far all the little yellow cub had done was talk to him, not even bothering to play the usual stalk-and-pounce game. Instead, she's sauntered right up to him, plopped herself down, and proceeded to talk to him as though he were her best friend in the world. She had clearly shown no interest in hunting him, which was the only reason the lizard hadn't left his nice, sunny rock. After all, it wasn't possible to talk someone to death, was it?
(Iyunge may be in the process of proving him wrong.)
"So apparently," the cub continued, dragging her claws idly through the dirt. "Some people don't know what a hero is. I mean, I guess I didn't know until Udadal told me all about it, but I thought more guys would know about it. It seems like a very guy thing to do, you know? What do you think?"

Considering her constant chattering, Poa could not have walked by without noticing her unless he was deaf. This one certainly knew how to talk!!
Normally, he would have just walked by without a word, but since he'd taken up the serious work of guard duty he figured he should at least go and check to see who it was and make sure all was well. The voice didn't sound angry or sad, but even still...better to be safe than sorry.
So, pressing himself close to the dirt, he crawled forwards in the direction of her voice, pausing every now and then to carefully lift his head in order to peer over the tall grasses. Eventually, after a tiring crawl, he spotted her, talking away to no one but herself. The tattoos and trinkets marked her as an Ela'wadiyian, but she was seemingly mad. The best thing to do in this situation would be to leave, and quickly, before he got dragged into any of her mad nattering.
He had work to do, after all!
He scooted backwards, trying to put the distance back between them, and - in doing so - failed to see some dead leaves that had fallen from one of the nearby trees. They crunched bitterly beneath his paws and stunned him into complete stillness, his heart thudding noisily in his chest.
He really needed to tame his paws. They really did let him down at the most inconvenient of times!

"Anyways, I was thinking that I should introduce him to all my friends so they know that I'm best friends with a—"
Crunch! Crunch! Crunch!
Iyunge stopped mid sentence, her ears perking instantly. Someone was watching her? How come her lizard friend hadn't told her? How rude! The young lioness sat up slowly, so focused on the new sounds that she failed to notice her "lizard friend" slinking away onto the other side of the rock. It was, no doubt, pleased to escape her constant tirade, even at the expense of putting the lioness in danger. But what danger could befall her in such a place? With any luck it was her mother coming to get her for being out too long.
"Hullooooooooo? Is anybody there? You can come out, I don't bite!" She tried to stand up on her hind legs rather comically, peering about into the grass for a sign of the newest arrival. Was it another lizard? A lion cub? A beast?
