User ImageThe day was slowly coming to its close. The sun was progressing towards the horizon, but night was still several hours off yet. The skies hadn’t even started to take on the light blues of dusk, nor were the few fluffy white clouds pink. But the sun was at such an angle that any way you seemed to look it got in your eyes, especially in the green meadows of the clearing where there were few trees to provide shelter. This did not bode well for Xanti and he was getting increasingly irritated as he stalked through the clearing.

No deer or large mammals were in the near vicinity and that only left a couple choices of prey; birds, rodents or hares. Xan was scourging the land for hares, not that he was really hungry, but he wanted to fill his belly before night came on...but the sun was being a nuisance. It was too blinding, making it hard to distinguish anything ahead of him, and there was definitely nothing worth seeing behind him. Annoyed, Xan let out a growl and flopped down to sulk. It seemed that he’d have to wait until something came close before pouncing.
