OMG......I'm so excited. I learned how to make my own candles yesterday. I made a white candle. this is so cool cause when you make your own candles you don't have to buy them any more. I havn't lit it yet so i don't know if it will burn but that is just a matter of finding the right kind of wick and wax. yeah i'm so happy. does anybody else make any of there own stuff? just thought i'd ask. you know try to get some discussion going in here. biggrin

that's awsome. I've only made one candle last night but i'm like addicted now. i can't wait to make another one tonight. but that's only because i have wax left over from the one i made last night and i don't have a clue what to do with it.
that's awsome that you make your own runes. what do you make them out of? I've alway's wanted to make my own but i can't even figure out how to use them belive me i've tried i think I should just stick to the tarot, or my Druid animal oracle cards. those seem to be easiest. But i think I might start using the I Ching coins i bought last year a little more.

YEAH another candle maker. I just havent had time to do it lately. I've been staying up late at night doing homework. that and I kinda got wax all over the stove so i'm kinda holdin off right now(my dad was kinda mad). anyway what kind of candles do you make. I've made candles by molds, and i've made tapers before. I prefer tapers. molds take to long to get hard, and then you've got to keep filling in thos craters in the top. besides that I love making my own candles.
sorry i'm blabbing again. I think I need to get less cafine in my system. biggrin

XD all of my stuff is hand made, even the parchment I write on is made from using old peices and making it into new. I made a bossom, candles, insense, oils, everything you could think of practically besides containers and such...I havent mastered glass and doubt I will..^^;

Yeah....people are coming out of the woodworks. i'm so happy that so many of us are selfsufficient when it comes to our own stuff. I think I'll try to also make my own incense, maybe here in the future sometime. anybody got any tips for me.

Does anybody actually grow their own herbs? I do. I like to make my own essential oils as well. It makes me feel more at home when I am using them. The store-bought stuff is just too chemicalized.

You have to boil whatever leaves or seeds or petals of the plant you want to create an oil of. Once the leaves/seeds/petals have dissolved, boil down the fragrant water until it becomes think. Add a small amount of vegetable oil and continue boiling and adding oil until it becomes smooth.
That is the way that I make oil.

Ivy_tsuki I make my own runes. I like them better then the store bought ones. they are incredibly easy to make. my grandfather told me that this was the best way to get runes. As you are the one who is putting your own enery into it... I make my own candles 9havn't for ages tho) I also grow herbs, becuase they are hard to find in shops, but its easy to get the seeds.. xd

An easier way: Step 1) Boil water Step 2) crush dried herb/flower that you want to make into an oil Step 3) Add liberal amounts of powdered herb/flower to boiling water Step 4) Boil down util yuo can smell whatever you used strongly and can taste it thoroughly for non-poisonous substances.
