An alternate telling of the Death Note story, L has not passed away and Yagami Light is working with him as his second in command on the Kira investigation. Amane Misa has lost her memories of the Death Note, as her notebook has been given to somebody else. Near, Mello, and Matt also work alongside L and Light, using their own investigative skills to discover more about Kira...and eachother. Background Bio: Like the famous L, not much is known about Matt except that he was in Wammy's House, but it was in Wammy's that he began his addiction for gaming. He wasn't particularly fond with the school and didn't really to become L's successor as Mello and Near had.
When Mello left for LA to pursuit Kira on his own, Matt followed, not wanting to stay in Wammy's House any longer than he had to, and figuring he could help his old time friend. With Mello's connections with the Mafia, Matt's able to keep a cheap apartment where Mello sometimes rooms with him. His next door neighbor, however, is nosy.

Background Bio: Like most people do, Kathern moved from her mother's house when she was eighteen, moving from job to job. Finally finding a stable workplace with a crush on a fellow co-worker, she moves into a cheap, but moderate, apartment. She keeps up on the latest news about Kira, agreeing with his justice but not violent ways.
But not long later, a very secretive man moves next door, and Kathern can't help but be nosy and perhaps a bit wary: he and a blonde other that visits most times carry guns. Maybe she might stick her nose too deep into something...
