The mighty summer sun's rays shone down upon the noisy and bustling town of Durem to either energize and brighten the day of those who enjoyed it's presence or making every minute in it's light feel like another hour for those who are uncomfortable with too much heat. On a day like today Lillian and Tyson found themselves held up in the library, both doing research on the unnamed pieces of history from their horde of treasures residing in their house. Rather than be a bother to them, Iorek decided to do his own research for the day at the large cathedral that stood on the outskirts of the city.

During their trip to Europe Iorek had become fairly acquainted with the various statues and gargoyles found in the foreign region. It only seemed logical to see what history he could dig up about the ones found locally. Of course there were no cathedrals located in Gambino, a island full of glitz and glamor that was a designated party spot. So when Lillian brought up the idea of finally figuring out what some of the pieces were Reks asked if he could visit the old church located close to the large and resourceful library. There was bound to be history located there and perhaps more gargoyles to talk to. Today though Iorek would just have to scout out the area and see if there were gargoyles even to be found, then if he saw a few of them, he'd return at night when they came to life...if he could sneak out of house without his guardians noticing.

Yet rather than go into the cathedral to explore upon arrival Iorek found himself drifting through the garden that was built around the building. Bored, the raevan stretched his arm out and dragged his claws against the iron bars of the fence that separated the peaceful area from the unpredictable streets of Durem.

A service was going on now and Reks certainly didn't want to disturb anyone inside the cathedral. So he decided to wait it out in the friendliest and most inviting area. Vibrant flowers were growing everywhere along the cobbled walkways that led visitors around the church. The gargoyle even found several scenic spots with benches where one could come and either enjoy the scenery or reflect...least that's what he thought they were for.

Iorek turned his eyes away from the paradise to look out onto the sidewalk where people from all walks of life were going on with their lives. His fingers curled around the warm bars as he began weaving fantastical lives for those who passed him. In a few minutes Reks was so engrossed with his daydreaming many who did not know better would assume he was a statue, the missing region somehow going unnoticed.

Ripley had spent most of the morning lounging around the house, two books in his hands as he idly browsed over each selection. A single sweep of his eyes down each page was enough for him to get the information he needed, and even though he was holding two books at once it was mostly just for show - he could only read one at a time at the moment. Of course anyone watching him couldn't be too sure of that, not that they'd be foolhardy enough to ask anyway, and the Egyptian Frei was left to his own devices enough that even if it was only one book at a time he was certainly racing through them.

His attention was grabbed away from his books the moment he say Rong Wei move towards her room pulling her shirt off, the woman having spent her part of the morning in front of the television, like usual. The fact she was moving after answering a phone call meant something was up (and he was curious), so the Frei floated behind the woman by was stopped by a closed (and locked) door. It only took a few moments for it to reopen, Rong Wei stepping out dressed as though she were leaving the house, and Ripley's wings lifted themselves slightly as if in question. He knew he'd be going with her - she wasn't going to leave him in the house alone with the chance that her parents might find him.

Ripley's unasked questions were answered when Rong Wei gruffly told him to move, they were walking somewhere, and he followed along with a temporary puzzled expression. It was just like the Chinese woman to not tell him anything, seeing as she hardly considered him worth talking to as of late, so it wasn't hard to imagine his surprise when their traveling lead them to the steps of a massive cathedral. The only reason Ripley even knew what it was stemmed from the fact he'd watched a show on churches just recently, one of the rare periods in time that he settled down to view the television.

"I didn't think you were religious."

"My family are devout Buddhists."

"That's not what I asked or said. I said I didn't think you were."

"And I responded with 'my family'. Jesus, are we going to play twenty questions here or something? I'm only here to meet a friend, not go inside the damn building. These people can keep their God or whatever, I'll stick to accepting reality."

" . . .So you're not religious."

"Dammit Ripley!"

Rong Wei swung an arm at her charge as he floated off and away from her, chuckling to himself over his apparent joke. Getting Rong Wei flusted before whomever she was meeting could arrive was a bit of a victory for him, though he knew it was in his best interests to let her cool for now. He could do a bit of exploring, it wouldn't hurt him that much, so his movements lead him away from the front and towards an area he spotted green.

Living in a small house amongst buildings, Rong Wei's family didn't have much of a yard - so plants and the like were always something interesting to check out. The Egyptian Frei moved himself in and amongst the area without too much trouble, completely ignoring anything around him - even the gargoyle that was very clearly not a gargoyle.

Iorek had just settled into studying the faces of a few stone cherubs when he saw something dark move against the hues of green. Since he had only seen it out of the corner of his eye the gargoyle excused it as a bird gliding along the breeze. But as he turned to drift over to another statue that sat nestled in ivy a few feet away Iorek was surprised to find the garden had acquired another visitor.

Over the course of a few minutes a few guests had joined him in looking over and appreciating the architecture of the church. But none of the humans so far looked like this one. Could he be some kind of pharaoh? An egyptian prince judging by his exotic jewelry.

Although the one Iorek had been staring at was one of his own kin, foliage played the part of hiding the ribbon or any other clues to his species. The other being didn't possess horns, and at the angle he was at - sort of facing Iorek- his wings looked apart of his costume's decor.

If Lillian was in the area she'd scold her raevan for looking like such a dope with his mouth ajar and wide eyes. But she wasn't in the area and therefore Reks continued to stare in awe at the beauty the man possessed. He must have been a male because even though he had a rather feminine face, it was the only gender allowed to go shirtless in public.
