 A semi-loud snort had awoken Syon from a pleasant dream of chasing cats and chewing on bones. He looked over in the direct of his owner Leigh with a look of exasperation. ' Lei-lei, what am I going to do with you.' He yawned loudly and gave his body a great shake inorder to wake up fully.
With lowered lids Syon took in his surroundings and what he saw, made him huff in laughter. Leigh was sprawled out half in the blankets and half out with her left leg dangling over the edge. Syon edged closer to use his snout, he pushed her leg upperward and onto the bed.
That done he made his way to his eating area to feast. After a few minutes of finishing his breakfast routine, he made his way to the door where there was a doggie door located. Once outside Syon lifted his snout in the air to breath in all the familiar and different smells. " Morning ladies!" Syon winked at the neighbour female canine's making court on the lawn. "Beautiful day outside!" He stuck around long enough to hear their words of agreement before he took off towards the park.

 Krystal and Snookie had both gotten up early. After they had gone through their usual morning routine, they headed to where Krystal not only worked, but actually owned the business: Rainbow Meadow Flower Shop. The flower shop was just a little bit away from the park, which made it not only nice for Krystal's business, but also for Snookie. Most of the time people stopped at the shop on their way home from the park in order to get flowers to brighten up their homes. Sometimes people even stopped there on their way home from work. Snookie sat by Krystal's feet while she unlocked the door. After the door was unlocked, Snookie followed her owner around until the outdoor displays were put out and then she took up lounging in the sun while her owner was busy dealing with stuff inside the shop.

Every once in a while Syon ventured the outdoors without his owner present; he did afterall have his tags on incase. Most, if not all, theneighbours and shop owners in the small town were aware of who he belonged too. It wasn't uncommon for Leigh to be walking around town when she didn't have to go to school or work.
Taking his normal pathway, he cut through the park to his favourite spot where he could observe everyone and everything. Once settled under the large shady willow tree, he closed his eyes in contentment. It was sunny out and soon with the sun, would come the heat in the afternoon.

Once Krystal was done with setting some stuff up in the shop, She walked outside and picked up her puppy and carried Snookie inside. Snookie looked at Krystal in confusion. Usually Krystal left her outside and didn't care that Snookie was outside.
Krystal sat Snookie on the counter next to the cash register. "I finally got the collar I ordered for you in. Now you can go to the park if you want." She said as she placed a blue collar with a silver tag around Snookie's neck. Krystal then sat her puppy on the floor. "Now if you go to the park be careful. I don't want anything happening to you." She said then went back to work.
Snookie meanwhile, decided to go to the park by herself for a change. She doubted that they would be very busy that day.

Syon was brought out of his snoozing by a tinkle sound like chimes in the distances. Opening his eyes fully he peered around to see what was the cause of his wake up and found the noise, a dog tag, on a rainbow colored canine like himself coming down the walk way. Curiously quiet, he watched the pup come closer to him and when it did he realized it was a she.
He continued to watch as he had never seen a dog or canine like himself before, usually they were a brown, black, tan, white or a mixture of all mentioned. Once she was close enough, he came out of his hiding spot. "Hullo!" He said a bit too loudly in his enthusiasm.

Snookie had been lost in thought until a sudden and unexpected greeting snapped her out of her thinking. She looked around only to see a cream colored with brownish ears standing a few feet away from her with a happy or excited expression on his face.
Snookie wagged her tails and walked closer to the other puppy. "Hello." She said happily. She like most of her kind, rarely came across other puppies of the same kind. "I'm Snookie. What's your name ?"

He smiled as the female came closer, watching her tails moved. "Snookie," He pronounced slowly and taking it in. " What a lovely name you have there! My names Syon." He beamed at her as he sat down. " What brings you to this neck of the woods?" Syon let his tails swing slowly back and forth as calmness came over him. " I haven't seen many canines like us around here, its been awhile and usually they don't stay very long. Its up to their masters or owners of course though. "

"Thank you." Snookie said with a slight smile. "I like your name too. It's rather unique name." After that she looked around slightly, before she spoke again. "My owner is working and it's a slow day at the flower shop, so I came here for something to do. What about you ?" She said. She thought that Syon was really nice.

He nodded and listened to her talk as he stood up and gestured with his paw in invitation to walk around the park. " Oh a flowershop eh? Sounds interesting, all kinds of different smells there. Moi? Well, my Leigh was still sleeping when I left. I go out on my own from time to time. Just to get out and such, Leigh knows I always come back. I mean why wouldn't I? She's a great person too, I was lucky to have chosen for her. Leigh doesn't own a shop though, she's going to a place called, in her words "Hellwhole" which I found out later was a made up name for place humans call 'University'." Syon snickered, his Leigh was certainly a strange character.

Snookie smiled slighty as she walked with Syon around the park. "When Krystal first took me to the flower shop after I was summoned here for her, I was nearly overwhelmed by all the scents, but I've gotten used to them and they don't overwhelm me any more, though I still enjoy smelling them." Snookie said. "My owner Krystal is always up early, and I don't think she's ever gone to 'University'. To the extent of my knowledge she's just been to the flower shop, with the exception of grocery stores and such. It doesn't sound like your Leigh likes going to University."
Snookie had met several people while spending her days around the flower shop, and like Syon, she would never pick anyone else over Krystal. Krystal was always around for her and they spent a lot of time together. It was almost uncommon to see Krystal without Snookie.

He listened and looked around at all the activity happening in the park. It seemed more humans were waking up and enjoy the weather. " Well, as long as your Krystal is enjoying what she is doing that is all that matters and it sounds like she is doing very well for herself. " He turned to smile at Snookie. " Hm, she doesn't hate it per sey. It's just that she's always doing homework and reading. I am proud of her for all the hard work she is doing. I know with the knowledge she is receiving she will make a better life for herself and there in turn it will make her happy. "
Syon could feel the heat coming in waves now that the morning was turning into noon. " I think we should find something to drink, it feels like its going to get hotter. " Syon's face turned sheepish. " Plus, I am really thirsty. I know the perfect place, down by the bend. There is a small pond to cool off too. Care to join? Or do you have to leave? I shouldn't be out to long as Leigh will worry if I was gone for hours upon hours though."

Snookie watched as humans walked and jogged past both her and Syon. "Krystal loves flowers and being around them all day, everyday, makes her happy. I'm yet to see a day that she isn't happy." Snookie said. She listened to what else Syon had to say before she spoke again.
"One day, your Leigh will realize that it's all worth it but until then she'll probably be a bit miserable with all the homework and such." Snookie said, before she looked up into a tree when she heard the katydids start chirping, telling everyone it was afternoon and going to be hot that day. "A drink of water would be nice." Snookie said as she looked back to Syon. "I don't have to go back to the flower shop until later, though if you've got to go, I'll probably leave then too, and go back to Krystal so she doesn't worry about me."

Syon chuckled. " Oh I know it will be better in the end, once she is finished it will be harder for a bit trying to find a job. Though she does work as a volunteer at a local animal hospital. She doesn't get paid much or so she tells me but she enjoys her time there." Syon chuckled some more. " She always thinks that its crazy that she talks to me, silly humans. We can understand, we just can't communicate verbally. Alright then, follow me. This way, its not very far from this point. " Syon smiled and began to walk further down the path way. " I don't have to leave quite yet but I should leave within two hours as I have yet to see Leigh for the day and she will worry. Ah here we are, didn't take very long at all. "
The sight that greeted them was a sparkling clear pond or mini-lake that was human free for now. Most of them were laying on grassy areas or the sand that was located opposite to them.

"Leigh seems like a really nice person." Snookie said after listening to what all Syon said. When they got to the edge of the pond, Snookie smiled slightly at him before getting a drink. "Thanks for bringing me here." She said then chuckled. "Krystal talks to me all the time, since she lives alone. I think it helps her think or something."
Snookie sat down, with her tails wagging. "I honestly think she's glad to have some else around the house. She's told me that before I came to her, she was really lonely." She said.

Syon nodded in agreement. " Yeah she's a good girl my Leigh. " Syon lowered his head as well for a cold refreshing drink and then brought his head up, beads of water dripping from his muzzle. " Yeah, it also I guess helps with the loneliness as well. Its understandable all species need companionship." A wicked thought came up in Syon's mind. With a twinkle in his eye, he slowly submerged his right paw into the water and then splashed Snookie. He chuckled not realizing that Snookie might not like the play, he was a very free spirit and often went with the moment and not considering the consequences.
