User ImageA blanket of scorching heat covered the Kawani lands, brought on the blazing sun and the lack of a cool breeze. Life seemed to have evaporated beneath the sun's rays as few souls dared to trek out into the heat near the lake Adalinda called home.

Heat, she hated it.

How uncomfortable she would be when she made her rounds. That hot sun beating down on her scaly hide, it would cook her in no time. But the job needed to be done. She would not sit and idle in her lake and let lessers frolic in her territory just because of some discomfort.

Fueled by the urge to protect what she deemed hers, the serpentine mare broke the surface of her cool lake. With awkward steps, she stepped out onto the land and instantly felt out of place. And vulnerable. A feeling she detested even more than the heat.

User Image((Sorry for the late reply))

Vaporeon was feeling sick. He was on the land for too long. The sun was horrible and he wanted to go back in water as soon as possible.

He was charged to go out of his territory to help some friends. Well not exactly friends but his two-legged owner other soquili. Because this girl saved his life when he was a small foal he is indebted to her. Well not that he hated her, just he liked his independance much.

He get lost on the land, not use to it. But finally able to approach the lake, he would be able to go home from here, the water had no secret for him.

Cool glistening droplets fell from the scaly hide of serpentine mare to be absorbed by the Earth. Even though she had just stepped from her lake, she already felt dry. And that detestable heat was not helping her at all.

She took a wobbly step, and then another, forcing her legs to adjust to being on land. Those first steps were always the hardest, but were easily conquered. With her long, and heavy, purple tail dragging on the ground behind her, Adalinda began to move away from the refuge of her lake.

Glowing orbs trailed behind the mare, weaving through the air at a leisurely pace. They were not needed during the day, when the sun would light the mistresses way.

An unfamiliar scent was carried on the weak breeze, causing the mare's nostrils to flare as she took it. Conjuring up the anger that was always present inside her lithe body. Another was close by, and she didn't like.

Water, the stallion could felt it already, exciting his nostrils. His long fish like tail flying in the air, near his head, trying to make some thin wind. It was no real use. Too hot for him. He couldn't stand it anymore.
"Bloody hell, why, why I need to support this heat." he started to be in really really bad mood.
The smell of the sea was stronger, but not only this, something else, something moving, something like him.....

"I can never have peace...." he grumped. Knowing that if someone else like him arround, will only means problem.

When the other came within Adalnda's sights, rather than outright engage him, she stood back and watched. Studying that potential threat, or prey, with her glowing eyes. Normally she was an attack first study later kind of girl, but the heat was wearing on her. Draining her strength.

The male was indeed of her kind, the scaly hide marking him as such. But still, he was different. It was... intriguing.

Vaporeon finaly spot from where the smell was coming. It was a mare. With vibrant colors and a long tail which remind me of snake. She looked tense.
"My chance" he whispered. The weather made him feel so sick, he really didn't want to pick a fight today. He guessed it would be better to be nice. Well nice is not really the word, let say sociable.

"Hello" he just said, starting a staring contest will be no good

"Greetings," replied the mare in a low hiss. Sensing that the stallion didn't seem to be in a state to pose any real threat, she moved in to get a better look at him. The head fins, and webbing along his back, like hers, and yet different. Then there was his odd tail and that strange thing around his neck. "What are you?"

Vaporeon sighed in relief. Looked like he will not have to fight today. In general he didn't mind, but it was to hot to battle.
"What I am ?" the question kind of puzzled him. "I am a kelpi, like you I guess....." he paused after taking a better look at her long snaky tail. "Maybe more on the pokemon side"

Pokemon? The mare's lips twisted into a scowl as she tried to fit a meaning to the foreign term. She'd never heard of such a species, or anything like it.

"Elaborate," hissed out the mare, demanding, not asking. Intrigue filling her as she looked over the stallion in a new light. If there was a new species out there, and if it were powerful, then she wanted to know all that she could about them.

((sorry for the wait, with school starting again I have not a lot of time))

The stallion sighed a little. Elaborate, she wanted him to elaborate. How could he explained it ? And he started to feel sick. He couldn't stand the heat anymore. Let's finish it quickly was what he had in mind.
"how can I put it..... we are specific group of soquili. We get along well with two-legged and our purpose is to train and then have fight against other humans and their soquili, just to see who was the stronger. It is fun. Our group is peacefull.
we fight but don't like to hurt each others and we will always appologies if we win for the injuries caused"
Then he paused. "I don't know if I answered your question but I have a request, can you let me go in the water a moment, I am sick of this weather."

(That's alright, I'm replying just as slow)

A refusal rested on the edge of the serpentine mare's tongue. How presumptuous, to ask to be allowed into her waters. The only thing that held her tongue, from lashing out at this stallion, was intrigue.

The thought of humans capturing and training Soq to fight each other, on peaceful terms, was just absurd. Peaceful and fighting were words that did not belong together, after all, what was the point of a fight if you were not out to injure your foe? Still, if this stallion had survived battle, then he must possess strength.

"You will follow me." The mare jerked her head in the direction of her lake home and then turned to lead the way. Her glowing orbs dancing about as they followed their master, watching her back.

Vaporeon was kind of upset by the mare attitude, because even if she looked strong he had his pride and this mare was just giving him orders. A little nerve pop up on his forehead but he just bited his tongue. She was what restrained him for going in the lake, and because of the hot weather he really didn't want to fight.
He tought that in one way she was lucky he was not in mood and on the other she looks strong and strange too, it could be interresting to follow her.

"Okay" was the only answer he gave, afraid that his voice will betray his irritation.

As if to taunt the stallion, the glowing orbs would dance over to him, stopping just inches from his face, and then zipping back to their master. They would brighten and dim, as if laughing at the stallion.

Adalinda paid no mind to the orbs, neither encouraging them, or discouraging them. Instead she just kept walking, her gaze straight forward. Confident that if the stallion attempted to attack her while her back was turned, the orbs would warn her.

She walked in silence, not wanting to let on that the heat was starting to get to her. Her serpentine hide was beginning to itch, a sign that it was drying out. So it came as a wash of relief, when she broke through the trees to come upon her glimmering lake home.
