This pickled vegetable...When preforming your craft, what methods do you employ to focus your Will? And please, don't say meditation. Give a real explanation. ... could kick your a** !!

I use visualization to help me focus, (whether visualizing the energy coming to me, or the picturing the desired outcome of a spell) and occasionally use repetition of the words that describe my intentions, whether aloud or in my head. I do this until I feel like enough energy is raised for what ever I need to use it for. I hope that's a decent enough explanation.

This pickled vegetable...I usually will assume shizen no kamae (earth stance). Its doesn't look much like a fighting stance, standing upright with my arms at my sides and feet slightly apart but it is the "default" posture for my style of martial arts and I find it is the one best suited to readying myself before any act of "magic".
I will assume the shizen stance with my eyes closed and follow the flow of qui in my body until I'm ready to consciously manipulate it. ... could kick your a** !!

What do you mean by 'the method of the moment'? I generally try to focus on the result though, yes. Most sources I've read on spells say to keep visualizing the desired outcome, so that's what I've been trying to do. And I have an admittedly short attention span, so I worry that if I let focus drift and my intentions seem unclear, the energy won't go where I want it to.

Renkon Root What I mean is that you focus more on what you want to happen in the future rather than what you're doing at the present. ... could kick your a** !! Generally, yes. Though it depends on the situation. When things are going really badly, I tend to look forward to the future, and occasionally use spells to help me find a way to get through things I'm having trouble with. So in that case, yes, I focus more on the future than the present. But I also do rituals to thank deities/spirits/the universe for the positive aspects of my life and things I'm grateful for. And occasionally I'll do introspective tarot readings to try to get a better understanding of current situations, or aspects of myself.

That's true, I guess I was straying off-topic a bit with that part. sweatdrop But yes, my own long-winded ramblingness aside, I focus primarily on the future.
Moving on though, I think your method is really interesting. In a way, it reminds me of how some people dance or sing to raise energy or focus. Getting physically involved with the metaphysical does sound like a good way to move energy, or have it move through you. So far you're the only person I've heard of who uses martial arts to manipulate energy like that, instead of using dancing or meditation to so. Do you meditate as well?

This pickled vegetable...Yes, but very rarely. Truth be told, I kinda hate meditation because it seems to be everyone's easy answer to everything.
There are other methods to achieving the same results that you can through meditation and you can learn a whole lot more through them than you can just sitting and clearing your mind. ... could kick your a** !!

Hmm, I know what you mean. It bothers me when people suggest using meditation, but don't give any real advice beyond that. What other methods do you use, if you don't mind me asking?

Renkon Root This pickled vegetable...To focus my Will specifically or just what methods do I employ in my craft in general? ... could kick your a** !! I meant as alternatives to meditation, but I'd like to hear anything else about how you practice your craft that you wouldn't mind explaining. Sorry if I'm bothering you with questions or anything, it's just that, like I said, I've never heard of anyone else doing this before, so I'm curious.

Sanguina Cruenta You don't focus on your desire in spellwork, Renkon? This pickled vegetable...I do, but only after I've got a good hold on my Will. Then I focus my will on what I want.
Method before Result. ... could kick your a** !!
