Haha, well after all this time I thought I'd get my journal a little more organized. Since I only have the first post to work with and edit, it will be simple, but effective. Welcome, by the way. I urge you to post (actually, I'm practically begging you. Yes, go ahead).

My name: Neuschwanstein Princess. I'm most commonly referred to as 'Princess' or 'Neush'. Anything goes.

Work currently in progess: The Adgengar Pandemic

Other Projects: TKC (a trilogy)

Welcome to the guild! Short story, huh? Well, by your description, I'd probably call your 'short story' more of a... novella. Depending, of course, on the length of each chapter and such... but whatever biggrin

I do have many ideas in my head... but most of them I've already started writing and stuff like that... but I do need to stop making more stories for myself, so if I get another idea, maybe I'll just hand it off to you xd

Anyways, welcome again, and I hope you get some good feedback and truly enjoy yourself here!

Yes, I wish you luck with your novella, I could never buckle down and write anything less than a novel xD
I'd love to read the excerpts smile

Okay, here are some ideas rolling around in my head like lost marbles:

A world ruled by clans. This can't be a war story cause it has to be short, and I refuse to do a forbidden love cause thats more boring than... math, after we've played the card game 'garbage' every day for the last two weeks.

A moderate-sized group of girls (20) spending the summer at a monastery with the nuns. All sorts of possibilities there. Again, the plot cannot be a romance... between any sort of characters.

So, send me any suggestions (the ones your not already using, yes?)

I have official started! Wish me luck, even if it's just briefly in your mind.
The title, by the way, is completely subject to change. I always start writing long before I come up with a good title.

Goal: 30,000 words by the end of July

I was just looking over the size of the piece I've been writing and it made me giggle- it's been so long since I've written so much!
It has been unbelievabley motivating to post my progress here.

Hows that for lack of motivation? Since I'm making it up as I go, I should probably throw in something exciting to get me going again.

So, I got semi-bored of the short story I was working on. No suprise.
But, I did join the July/August Writing Competition (or whatever it was called) and I just finished a thousand word short story for it! I feel so accomplished!
There's still alot of editing to be done, and I don't know if I'm just chopping the first four hundred words out, but it's a start.

When you get bored with a piece you just have to work through it. Most people never finish a project because they get bored and move on. Stay committed and your attention will come back.

Anyway, good luck on the competition. I too am thinking of entering, but I'm a very dark writer, and my ideas for the prompts might be a little more than PG-13, lol.

Thank you for saying that. I do need to stick with it, I guess I just needed a push.
And definitely enter the competition, the judges should probably be able to handle it. They'll probably just be grateful for another entry.

I'm sure everyone will do fine!

To stop myself getting bored with a story, I usually incorperate all new ideas into it. I might get hit by inspiration for another fiction but I work hard to make it fit in with the current novel. My goals also help of course haha!
