What a surprisingly busy time they had run into now! Alcmene was still dealing with preparations for a potential alliance, wondering when the neighbor heir would arrive and suddenly some old pride members had found their way home, at long last! Ally knew she shouldn't worry so much but seeing old members returned home made her nervous, it was a long story how her father had taken and then abandoned the throne and she worried about how they might react to this news. However.. they were mostly just happy to be home, and only one member was truly old enough to remember her father.

It had been just yesterday the group had arrived and the queen was off to check on how they were settling in now that they were home. She wasn't exactly sure who she might find but she would speak to the first one she came across.

Nkosazana could not believe they had finally made it. Her paws still ached slightly from the last of the trek, but oh how it made her feel to be 'home'. With her heart dancing in her chest, she'd shyly mingled with long lost pride members the night before.

But now. The Queen Alcmene was in the area. Her eyes go wide at the beautiful lioness. And this is the The Queen! Her mind screams at her, the highest of the high. No was would she pass this up. With a purpose Nkosazana strides towards the other. Approaching from her left, she politely clears her throat to catch the Queen's attention if she hadn't need her coming. "Good day Queen Alcmene."

Ally was surprised when she very suddenly spotted someone headed her way-- one of the new arrivals! She was.. ah.. middle class? Young. She wasn't one who had fought in the war, she was one who had lost someone in the war, as many of them did.

"Good day," she responded with a smile, "How are you feeling today, Nkosazana? Still excited?"

It was lucky that Alcmene was so good with names, it really came in handy sometimes. She couldn't quite recall Nkosazana's brother's name off the top of her head but she knew there was a brother and if he appeared she could probably remember it too.

Nkosazana stops close to the queen and purrs. She wanted to be close without crowding her, and delighted that the queen recognized her right off. Hopefully the others would see she was talking comfortably with the queen and be jealous. Well at least maybe envious. Nko admires the delicate markings on the queen. She hadn't been close enough before to see them.

"The same to you Queen Alcmene." The rusty lioness gives the queen a graceful bow. Rising up she smiles. "Oh very much so. I'm exceedingly happy and relieved to finally be home. It is good to be with the pride once more." Nko gives the other female a knowing glance. "I've missed the..... advantages of a large pride.

Ally immediately liked this lioness, she looked very happy- and was hardly shy. She nodded when Nkosazana bowed, smiling back at her.

"I'm glad you're so happy, we are very happy to have you home," she said brightly. Though Alcmene had been born shortly after the migration had been complete, she knew the story of the pride well and was always happy to see those who belonged her return. She chuckled at the glance she was given.

"Oh?" she said, grinning.

"The sun is high and bright, if you wouldn't mind a stroll I know of a quiet shady spot just suited for a sit and a chat." Nko smiles winningly at the dark lioness. Surely she would want to get out of the heat, and Nko had no right to keep her out in the sun just to talk. However she would not take the first step. Leaving the choice to the queen.

"It pleases me, to know, that we have not been forsaken. We were separated for so long that....." Nko turns her head away for a moment. "That I feared we would not be allowed back if the pride had grown considerably. Indeed not be remembered and accepted."

A slow smile crosses her lips as she looks at the queen. "There is a limit of diversity within a small group Majesty. Familiar personalities can quickly become tiresome with variety." She chuckles. "I must admit I have greatly missed the company of companions. My brother and his mate can become..... too mushy? for comfort at times." She chuckles at the light joke and hoped it would not offend the Queen.

Nkosazana clears her throat, slightly nervous. "Forgive me for asking. But when will the ceremony to confirm our ranks be held? I have heard nothing and am eager to serve you." She sketches a quick bow of respect to the other lioness.

"Alright," Ally smiled when Nko offered to lead her to a more comfortable place to sit and chat. She took a little step back, waiting for an indication of where the lioness would like to lead her. She smiled after her as she turned, voicing her worries that they might not have been accepted. It had helped the group to have Irja, and older member that was sure to be recognized, and Kibetinyota, who had been selected as an apprentice.. they could be recognized and trusted, so their group was not questioned. The middle and lower-middle class youth would have been harder to recall. But Alcmene did not wish to say it out loud.

"Ah, well!" she said, decidedly addressing Nkosazana's question before her comment as they tied in together quite well.

"There will be a ceremony to welcome you all officially into your classes the next full moon, Irja will have already had one since she is older but Upenzi, our ceremonial priestess, will make sure to draw the Great Lion's attention and remind him of you all," she said, though the Great Lion never stopped watching those who accepted his ways, it would be a big deal in welcoming them back, "I will be heading out to speak to your brother and his mate shortly, they will need a wedding ceremony as well. We intend to hold the two ceremonies together, it will bring the whole pride together."

She smiled brightly.

"You'll have the opportunity to meet everybody then," she said, "You'll meet the other lions in your class, and you'll have an opportunity to talk to Njiru and Baba'nyota, our heads of the hunt and guard respectively. Once you've decided who to join, you'll be able to find those you'll work with. Have you thought about what you want to do?"

Nkosazana was pleased when the queen agreed to walk with her. Politely she nods to the left and begins walking at a sedated pace. Shortly they come to a low scrub tree that is more wide than tall. All of its small branches interweaving to produce a suitable canopy that casts a fair amount of shade. "It's quite cool here, particularly during midday." She lets Alcmene choose her seat first before settling down into the comfortable shade herself.

She gives a sigh of relief. "I'm glad to hear that. Without knowing if the Great Lion's eye was securely upon us, has left me... disjointed." Her grin is knowing as Alcmene speaks of her brother's wedding. "It will surely be a great time. I'm greatly looking forward to his wedding. I must say he dotes on her so." They were a good match, even if she thought he choose far too quickly.

Her tail gives a small twitch in the dust. She turns her pretty lavender eyes off to study the horizon as her mind worked furiously. What was everyone else going to be like? What were they going to think of her? Would they like her? Like to be around her? She certainly hoped so. Nko pulls herself back as the queen asks a question. "I look forward to meeting." She smiles. "Yes, with some thought. I believe I'd do well as a guard."

"Oh, it's lovely," she said, smiling and taking a seat in the shade. Alcmene was a very dark colored lioness, she was definitely more comfortable out of the direct sunlight. Though she didn't comment again on the wedding, she did smile when Nko described the pair. She was pleased to hear the group had become and stayed so close and friendly, it could be frustrating to deal with the same people all the time.

"A guard? I'm sure Baba'nyota will be happy to have you," she said brightly, glancing over Nko thoughtfully, sizing her up as a guard, "I'll make sure he knows you're interested."

Nko purrs at the other's compliment. "It is quiet and peaceful here. I've enjoyed just sitting and watching. It will be a pleasure to meet him, I'm sure, at the ceremony." Her ear gives a small switch as she considers. She knew now that he was a male and in charge of the guards, but not much else. Her thoughts briefly scatter, wondering what he's like, if he'll like her, and equally silly things. "Thank you Alcmene."

"I look forward to meeting him." She ducks her head almost shyly. Her paws wiggle into the dirt. Oh, I can't wait! I wonder what I'll have to guard first? Or maybe the head guard will have to test me before he can decide. NKo was eager to begin, but kept her calm in front of her Queen.

"The guards help to keep it that way," she said brightly, hoping that would encourage her to keep on the idea of being a guard-- and it was on topic, anyway. Not to mention if she enjoyed watching others, that was another big part of what the guards did. Keeping an eye on things. It was something Ally enjoyed as well, something that made her think if she hadn't been born first she might have liked to be a guard. She had family history in the business biasing that thought, though.

"In the meantime, you have plenty of time to learn about the lands and catch up with the other pride members," she said thoughtfully, "The middle class is one of the smaller ones right now, and there are even fewer guards. You'll have to ask around to find any of them to chat with before, I expect."

That was assuming Nko was looking to go out of her way to get a head start.

"Of course, they'll all be there at the ceremony."

She looks at the Queen almost blankly for a moment then brightens up. "Yes. They do a good job at it." She shifted to lay on her other side. "Has there been much fighting of late?" If she was to become a guard, this was something important to know. Of course, she'd probably find out at the ceremony too, but if Alcmene was willing to talk now....

"I will certainly need to learn the lands. The hunters should be quite familiar with our territory and could give me the lay." She nods to herself. If there aren't that many guards.... what does that mean? We haven't been seeing fighting or we have and most of them have been killed? I definitely need to speak to one or two of them before the ceremony. Nko gave the Queen a smile.

"No, not at all," Ally answered brightly and honestly, "We've had very peaceful times here, and we hope it will remain that way for a long, long time." She smiled. It was good to pass along this bit of information, thinking it would be a great comfort to the lions who had spent so long out in the rogue lands. With a whole pride you were safer and in peaceful lands you could be happier.

"Absolutely," she agreed, "Almost anyone you meet should have a very good idea of the lands, and they should all be quite happy to help out. I have to be going now or I would help look for someone to show you around better." She got up to her feet, when she had somewhere specific to be, she really ought to keep going until she got there.

Every thing has been. Well that's good to a point. Though how will I gather impressive victories if everyone is goody two-paws? It can't all be perfect. Nko gives a soft sigh. "That's good for the pride. Cubs can be raised without having to worry about them." With such a large pride to take them in, they were far safer now than when they'd been in a small group. They could afford to relax a little.

As Alcmene rises, Nko does like-wise. "Oh, I didn't mean to keep you for so long, Queen Alcmene. Thank you for such a lovely talk this afternoon." She gives a sweet smile. "No fear. I will find someone willing to talk with me. Good day You Majesty."

"No, I enjoyed chatting with you, I'm glad you're liking it here and I look forward to seeing you at the ceremony," she said, smiling back at Nko, "Have a good day."

And then she headed off in the direction she hoped would take her directly to the lions she needed to speak to next, but she wouldn't be too put off by a peaceful walk along the way.
