The hour was quite late -- after sunset but before the rising of dawn. Not even the god of sleep could rouse from his comfortable nap. Nonetheless, young Lennyka was wide awake and roaming the endless corridors of TRHQ with her face pressed heavily into a book. She walked with a slip here or there, having borrowed her brothers overly large pajamas since her night gown was in the wash. The hem was what only separated her and the dank floor beneath. It was much to cold to step upon.

Sighing, the meganekko chuckled softly. "Stories like these are always quite predictable." she muttered aloud, no ears near to heed her outspoken thought. "The man will die, or the man will succeed. He will become a disappointment or a hero. The village will befall his failure or be saved. All the same thing! Sigh, why can't exciting happen in these amateur tales?"

Slapping the book shut with a hefty thump, Lennyka made her way into the cafeteria in hopes of searching for something to snack upon. There was little that suited her taste that hour -- but a cup of tea would do. Amidst her steps of sugar, salt and tea bag, she forgot the final ingredient: milk. Noticing a small bottle, Len turned her head to check the time as she poured it. Not too long after did she remove her cup and take a drink did she find what she really used in her mug.

Holding her throat, the teal haired girl raced to the fridge to find what she really should of used in her cup. Clearing her burning throat was done in no time. Yet, she wandered over to the bottle she had picked up before and glared at it. Hot sauce, who the heck leaves that lying around? Goodness, someone sure is going to get written a stern letter in regards to this incident, hmmph!

Oh, where had that pesky bottle of hot sauce gone off to? If it had been any other man, the answer would have probably been a lot easier. Yet, for 1337, the answer was never so simple, since he honestly brought some sort of hot sauce with him everywhere he went. Fortunately, this specific bottle of hot sauce was not nearly as important as his vial of Satan's Blood. It also meant it was not nearly as potent when it came to how "spicy" it was.

He rounded the corner of the entrance to the cafeteria, that big old trademark grin on his face. Though none could see his eyes, he began to scan this room for his possession. Some other agents warily waved a hand to him in greeting, and as this visored Rocket passed, he gave them a good solid pat on the shoulder.

However, in the middle of patting some blonde's shoulder, a flash of panicked teal managed to catch his attention. Usually being the one to trick people into trying his hot sauce, it wasn't very difficult for him to recognize the "I JUST ATE SOMETHING I SHOULDN'T HAVE" dance. If this had been a guy, he would have started laughing his a** off right there. Yet, it was a girl. She had made an appearance at the sleepover, if he recalled correctly.

He approached just as she picked up his bottle of hot sauce. Oh, she looked upset. He only dared to place a gloved finger over her shoulder, keeping a small bit of distance between them.

Knowing the database inside and out, he was easily able to pick out her name from his mind. "Oh, Lennyka... yer such a lifesaver! Ya found my hot sauce!" Yes, make her sound like the hero for now, until she calms down.

In what sounded like an apologetic tone, he offered "I leave this stuff all over tha' place! Sorry 'bout that!" Her eyes would easily be met with that broad grin of his.

Len coughed and spat more, her face red with dislike. She dare not, for the love of her, do something like that EVER again! She was going to READ what she puts in her drink next time, that's for sure! When the soft pressure of someone's member resided upon her shoulder, she blinked and turned her head. Who was this man, why did he know her name and for the love of her, WHY was he wearing a big visor?

Of course, she never asked those questions directly but she did wonder them. "Erm . . ." she sputtered out, clueless. "You're welcome? Oh-" She took a moment to stop doing the mamba and set herself straight to standing. "You're welcome!"

She removed her glasses for a moment to wipe them and replied. "Y-You know you shouldn't leave your stuff lying around. However, apology accepted."

Of course, once again, she wondered about that grin of his. He reminded her of the Cheshire Meowth, but he could be trusted. However, this face in front of her . . . can it be trusted?

That grin of his never did waver, but as she mildly scolded him (oh no, what was he ever going to do?), he did point something out. "Yeah, I probably shouldn't leave my things lying about, but I'm just about as human as the next guy. To err is to be human... or something like it."

Despite wearing a visor that had no notable visibility, he reached out and snatched up his bottle of hot sauce as delicately as possible. Either he was amazing, or he was still somehow able to see, despite his tech over his eyes. "Since my hot sauce probably ruined your beverage, perhaps you should let me have that cup, and you should make yourself a new cup to drink?"

There was a slight pause as he leaned over a bit to match her height a bit better (he was a full 12 inches taller than her). "So, what book are you reading there, Lennyka?"

"To err is to human . . . " she began, holding the cup out to him. "to forgive, divine. Not 'something'." she corrected him.

Sighing a little, the teal haired girl glanced up. "Tall . . . " she muttered before quickly snatching up her book and showing him the cover. He was possibly the first male she has ever met who had shown interest in what she was reading. Sorano wasn't, well not so much. Unless it was manga.

She pointed to the cover and mustered up a smile. "Evading Morpheus." she said innocently. "It's about a man who feigns sleep to think of a plan to save his village and family from these evil . . . um, what is that word? Oh! Mages. That's all I am up to so far but it is a really . . . good read."

She hesitated, "Do you like books?" she asked, once again in that mediocre and innocent tone. It was quite childish but what to expect of a person who lives and breathes reading?

That sounds LAAAAAME!!!

The man's head seemed to move into a slow nod, exaggerating his motions to get the point across he was looking the book over. Though he had already come up with a label for this book (LAAAAAME), he looked as if he was seriously giving it an honest chance. The chain that was attached to his nose was swinging slightly. Only after giving the book a looking over did he take the proffered cup.

"I'm not so good with sayings, to be honest." Apparently that thoughtful look had been fleeting, for once again, his lips formed that wide grin. With the new cup in hand, he paused a moment to stand up to his usual height and take a sip. The contents really weren't all that bad, but he was perhaps overly biased. Unlike the girl, he didn't even have the slightest of problems drinking down the concoction. It was almost as if he had no reaction at all to the spice. Easily draining out all the contents, he set the cup back down on a nearby table.

"I do enjoy books... though I tend to lean towards more sciency stuff." For a moment, he lifted a finger and tapped at his visor, making a small clink clink clink noise with each small tap. "I'm sure you could have figured that out though. You seem like a smart kid, Lennyka."

He gave her a subtle looking over again, this time not making his head movements as noticeable. She was a bit young for his tastes, but a woman was a woman was a woman. He could have some fun with this one!

"Ya know... I could let ya look at my small collection if you'd like? My dorm isn't too far from here. You could get your new drink to go..." He turned his head towards the exit, as if gesturing they should get going. "Ya game?"

Lennyka's face cringed. How in the world could he just drink it like so?! Was he out of his mind? Yet, her face turned to that of awe when he set the empty cup down upon the table. He drank it like water . . . ! Len face continued to play off her marvel before she shook her face and nodded her head.

"I, I like science-y stuff too." she smiled, dragging on the 'y'. She flushed a little, being called 'smart'. She didn't think herself smart. Hell, not many people did for her naivety so the comment seemed to mean something to her. Len once again analyzed that Cheshire grin. To her, it was something to be trusted.

"S-Sounds like a plan!" she stuttered, grabbed whatever fruit concoction she would wrestle out of the fridge and stood post haste. Books be books and if they were books she had read before, well, that was all she needed.

"Excellent!" Though his tone was absolutely friendly as he physically said the word, his mental voice actually stretched the word out in a more sinister fashion.

As soon as the girl seemed ready, he placed his hand upon her shoulder and draped his arm along the curve of her back before he began to lead the way. His head leaned down so that his mildly stretched ears were closer to the level of her lips. "Now, Lennyka. You will have to tell me who your favorite science-themed authors are." He squeezed her shoulder playfully. "Wanna make sure I'm not wastin' your time by showing you books you wouldn't be interested in."

As the two exited the cafeteria, a few of the more knowledgeable Rockets shook their head. That teal-haired girl was probably going to get a lot more than she bargained for. Even as they wandered down the hallways, the pair continued to get looks from other Agents and Grunts who passed by. 1337 easily noticed, despite the fact his eyes weren't visible and able to make such obvious. Yet hopefully, sweet Lennyka wouldn't notice at all.

The gesture seemed so unknown to her. Yet, so common she shrugged off any suspicion she might have held.

"Oh, there are so many . . . !" she chimed like a Hoothoot during the hour. "Well, there is David Bellamy . . . he was a mathematician. I wasn't so good at math and some of the things he wrote took me a while to comprehend, but he explains everything so well! Bob Berman wrote an excellent piece on astronomy . . . have you ever listened to his radio broadcast called Skywindow? It's wonderful!"

Lennyka continued to talk on and on and on about the books she read and the authors who took the time to write them. She remained oblivious to the stares and the words. All the eyes casted her way were nothing, just blank stares in her mind.

"Jacob Browonski is another mathematician who wrote a book on algorithms. Professor Felina Ivy from the Orange Islands also wrote something pertaining to something called the 'GS Ball'. I might have been something you would have liked to read!"

If 1337 did not stop her, she probably would have kept on going. She talked a mile a minute, that is for sure.

It really didn't take very long to get to his room. As the girl continued to rattle on and on about various different authors, he pulled out his card key from his pocket and slid it into the door's lock. With a slight blinking of a green light, it was a signal that the door was opened, and he swung the door open, tugging the girl along with him and shutting the door behind him.

"I apologize for it being dark, Lennyka," he offered, walking her in further to his den. "It's a common techie problem." A lot of techies preferred working on darker rooms, and he actually was very stereotypical with that sort of thing. The glow of a monitor was all the light he needed, though that even seemed to be lacking at the moment.

"Let's get you over to the bed so you can sit down...then I'll find you those books..." On the ground, there were stacks of boxes, that, if kicked, felt like they had machine parts in them. It wasn't particularly organized or clean, and it actually was a little difficult to navigate if one wasn't familiar with the setting. It was an excuse to pull her up close next to him. He reassured her with a simple "Stay close, and I'll make sure ya don't trip." With that arm of his that was draped across her back, he repositioned it rather suddenly, tucking his hand down under her arm and easily brushing against this girl's slight curves.

"Yer eyes will adjust soon enough..." If it was possible, that grin on his face had managed to somehow grow wider.

"U-Um . . . okay."

They were a little too close and Len was beginning to feel uncomfortable. It was quite dark too; how in the world could she possibly read with it being so dark?

"Have you a flashlight?" she questioned, keeping her eyes down upon the floor to watch her step. Who knows what she might step on . . . who knows. "I don't mind using a flashlight for reading . . . "

That was quite true. Her tendency of being up late at night led to her reading by the fire of her sleeping Charizard's flame or a flashlight in her mouth. Both were effective methods but the flashlight portion normally led to her drooling . . . which is quite unwanted. She took another step and was reluctant this time to make out the floor. She also noted the feel of something against her side. What in the world had she gotten herself into?

Yet, she never questioned. Just kept on walking to the stated destination. Suddenly, she noticed a clang plus a rolling noise upon the floor.

"Oh . . . oh, my juice!" she said, glancing about on the floor for the Pecha stamped canister. "Goodness, where is it?"

Len had paused from her travels to bend down and pat around for it. She'd find it eventually.

The visored Agent paused the moment she stopped moving forward. Awww, her jigglies were no longer within his reach when she bent down like that. It was a decent enough view of her butt though.

"Well, hopefully it doesn't leave a stain or anything..."

He could care less if it left a stain.

"...It would be such a pity to have to clean it up after you left and all..."

As he casually enjoyed the view that he could barely see the edges of, he did manage a simple question. "So, Lennyka... do you go by any nicknames? Lenny, or Len maybe? Or something more creative like 'Eeka'...?" His fingers twitched at his sides, absolutely tempted to reach out and touch the rump within reach. All in due time, 1337. All in due time.

Len luckily caught the can within grip before it rolled along deeper into the dark recesses of the room. "Not really, though big brother calls me Len. Lenny was only when I was a kid, hehe."

She squeezed the can within grip to prevent it from falling again. Taking another step, the can bounced out of her grip with her hands shaking.

"Oh goodness, no one has called me that in ages." she laughed, bending down to take up the can, hands still shaking in the excitement of being called something from so long ago. It felt nostalgic and the feeling ruptured her insides with happiness.

"Have you any nicknames . . . ? Oh, I don't even know your name . . . "

Since she had stepped forward, the visored man stepped forward as well, placing his hands upon her hips and gripping slightly. "If you take three steps forward, my bed is right there, Lenny..." He squeezed his hands slightly before letting her go to find his bed.

Since he seemed well adjusted to the level of light, he had no problem weaving past the stacks of boxes. Eventually, he made it to a small desk, where he then opened up a standard issue laptop and powered it up. The moment there was even the slightest bit of power on, the screen was able to light up the room better.

"I go by one three three seven." He flashed a grin at the girl on the other side of the room. "Nothing more, nothing less."

Unless being called various vulgarities counted as nicknames.

"Make yourself comfortable, Lenny... and I'll get you those books." Oh yes, where were those books? Obviously hiding somewhere in this room.

She nodded and trekked through the hollow darkness slowly. When her knee bumped the edge of the mattress, she took a seat and stared around. When he spoke next of his supposed name, Len thought he was telling her a telephone number.

"How interesting . . . " he muttered to herself, analyzing the course linens she sat upon. She gestured her hand up to her face to shield away the blinding light of the labtop, yipping up next after her eyes adjusted.

"Do take your time!" she called, smiling.

She tugged her braid lightly due to her content, a common habit of hers. Books, wonderful books! Even a friend to read them with! How exciting!
