Introduction
They had watched the village now for decades; the old faces made of stone. They watched one of their kin slip valiently into the realm of death, and watched a woman take his place. The first woman Hokage in the history of Konoha. Each face watched the village; watched it change, watched it grow. Observed how the passing of time had altered the faces of those they had once cared about, and how it had brought new faces to the village they had once protected and called home: Konoha.

Ran looked up at the faces looking down on her, noting that a new face had been added. It seemed that she had missed much on her last mission. With a sigh she pulled the reings of her mount, and the larg mare snorted once, stamped her feet and moved forward.
Ran had been off on another mission, a long one that had taken half a year to compleat. Because of her mounts speed, Ran was constently sent to the farthest reaches for her missions.
"Well girl, looks like we have a lot of catching up to do." Ran patted her firemare's neck, then straightened up again, at her side the Glave slaped once against her leg then stilled again.

She looked up at the sound of hoof-falls on the stone streets of Konoha village, shielding her eyes with her hand as she did. Her tinted eye mask dimmed the bright light of the day, but it was still too bright for her liking. She watched the tall rider astride her rare horse taking in the new face carved into the cliff face. Juu noticed that Ran's hair seemed a little shorter than it had at the beginning of their last mission. "She cut her hair again," Juu thought "I really with she would let someone else do it for her, it always looks so tattered at the ends. oh well" she sighed, then raised her that was exposed by the short sleeve and waved at Ran.

Ran noticed the other ANUB waving in greating, and she signaled Wildfire to stop, the firemare did so, remaning still though her eyes were aleart.
"Its been to long," Ran said, as she removed her own panther designed mask. "You'll have to tell me what I've missed in my time away."

Juu, having been home for a while, greeted Ran in her civilian garb - knee length, baggy shorts, and a loose blood red shirt with sleeves of varying length. Seeing Ran still in her ANBU uniform made her think of her own Dog styled mask at home. "You've been gone for so long because of the horse of yours." Juu said, keeping a noticeable distance away from the vigilant mare. Juu and Wildfire had never really gotten along overly well. Juu had a great affinity for animals, but this one seemed only to take pleasure from Juu's company when it could n** at her, or lift a foot in threat. Juu stuck out her tongue at the mare then turned her attention back to Ran. "Come on, we best get you to the new Hokage. I'm sure you'll flip out when you find out who it is." Juu said with a slight smirk.

Wildfire snorted once, then pawed at the ground. Ran patted at the firemare's neck again, at times it could be a real battle of wills between them. Though Wildfire was a loyal mount, she was stuborn as was most of her breed, if fact it was rare for any one to even gain one as a mount.
"Acutly it was the mission that took longer then expected, I would have been back in a week if it had just been a simple one."
It was a joke between the two, Wildfire was faster then most ninja, and could travel well over a thousand leuges in a day.
"Your right, I need to report preaty soon."

Juu glared at the horse. Then looked critically at Ran. "you really outta either let someone cut your hair for you, or let it grow out. i don't want to come off as shallow, but honestly, it looked like you got into a fight with your glave or something". she said eyeing the ominous weapon. she'd really hate to be on the receiving end of that thing. She was glad her and Ran were friends, so she didn't have to worry about it. Then she thought carefully about what Ran had said moments ago. "about your mission," she started "i don't know the details of it. what happened to delay you this much. you're usually only a week or so behind everyone else." Juu asked with a carefully hidden note of concern in her voice.

"Waiting for some one else to cut my hair takes time." Ran shurged just a bit. "Its just hair after all, acutly I just used a dager, its a bit hard to cute hare with a wepon that has five blades." She had acutly atempted that befor, it had proven to be quite dificult, Ran chose not to speek of her mission, it seemed that her past was atemping to catch up, unless there were others that had the ablites of the slayers from her world.

Juu noticed how quickly Ran responded about her hair, and now she pretended to ignore the question about the mission. She decided to drop that particular subject. "lets get you to Hokage-sama then." Juu said quickly, to cover the awkward silence that was hanging in the air like a rank odor.

(( It started!It started!It started!It started!It started!It started!It started!It started!It started!It started!It started!It started!It started!It started!It started!It started!It started!It started! ( I am a ahppy dundun)))
Eight years, eight long, painful years of learning to live again. Like an infant he had been retaught, nursed back to health, educated, and now Daisuke approached his former home. Memories, hanging fetid in the shifting storm of his mind, brought back days of training, honing his skills until he was a killing device, a machine of war, and little else.
But life in its infinitismle knowledge had taught him that death was rarely the answer, just another problem. The sound nin... they had been creative... as was evidenced by his covered eye, kept in shadow by the brim of his hat, which rustled softly as he moved, straw fibres straining against each other in their conical frame. He was passing handsome, or some supposed, but the sight of his monk's robes, and the prayer beads in his hand, clacking together in a staccato rhythm of life, turned away the eyes of any young maiden who would otherwise seek his favor.
Shuffling along, Daisuke looked up, barely adjusting his hat as he passed landmarks that were both familiar, and sadly alien to him, and he turned this way and that, staff tapping out a counter-measure to his beads with each step. With a muffled sigh, the staff came to rest against his shoulder, the metal capped end standing a full foot above his six foot frame as a hand came up to remove his hat, the leaf brand placed there by himself after he left the monastary those six years ago, glinting a dull green in the light, ink still shining strong, kept fresh by the little chakra he managed to accumulate.
Raven black locks fell unfettered about his shoulders, and Daisuke replaced his hat, adjusting it as he continued past trees he had once used to conceal himself in, approaching the village itself, as out of place in his holy garb, as if he had worn his battle gear into the monastary prayer garden. HE was home, and yet... a stranger in a strange land.

Juu slowed to a stop while walking with Ran and her old nag. She looked off into the distance, as if puzzled by something - like how to respond to a vastly superior post, for example. Her Covered eyes fell upon the faces that had assured her for years, and she shrugged off the feeling of insignifigance. Juu looked up at at Ran astride her horse and smiled her goofy smile to reassure her that no, she had no lost her senses. "I had the weirdest feeling just now" Juu explained. "Like someone just came to the village that commanded such power over the english language, that I felt dwarfed by comparisson. No matter though, the feeling is gone now". She smiled again, then carried on walking.

((Big lull, filling space, will return to normal posting order lter))
Unkowing that his presence had been felt, Daisuke shuffled along, beads clattering gently agasint one another. He cast his gaze about, loooking to anyone, anything, for comfort. He found none, all faces were strange to hium, where was his sensei? where were his frineds? This was all worng... Even the cool stone faces that kept constant vigil over the village were strange to him, no longer the smiling benefactors he once saw them as, ~Where am I?~ ran through his mind, and he swallowed, wanting to run to someone, take them by the shoulders, beg of them information, but he could not, he would not had he the ability to do so. Instead, he shuffled on, his staff rapping against the ground with each step, still casting about for aid as he progressed towards Juu and Ran. People stopped, looking at him, wondering what a man of peace would be doing in a village of ninja, and even more, why did he bear the brand of konoha on his hand? Questions that went unanswered as they returned to their lives. HE was a man of budha after all, and would be on his way after seeking alms, but he was a quiet one, and more than one person murmured to another that he might be of some alarm, and a wary eye be kept. Yet he walked unmolested, leaning on his staff as the weight of the world bore down upon his shoulders, Daisuke, the fallen ninja.

Fade adjusts the straps of her pack, and fliped her stray brown hair out of her dark eyes. It had been a long time indeed since she had looked out across Konohagakure village. With a sly grin, she began walking toward the village. It was time to see if Konoha had any work for her. She had just come from the mist, and she was much looking forward to the warm weather.Maybe she could even relax and live here for a while. Well, whatever. It's time to check in with the Hokage. Fade thought, as she slipped silently into the village.

|| This thing's been dead too long people. Come on come on, i'm a newbie here. I shouldn't be waving the flag of GET YOUR BUM IN GEAR. ||
Everyone else was coming BACK from missions. There were days when Dani wished that as soon as she was leaving she could be coming back. this would have been one of those days.. but instead, she was in an even worse situation. She knew ahead of time about a mission she had to do tomorrow. Gemma NEVER told his students about missions until they were a minute away from needing to be done. Heck, most people didn't even know he was an instructor. Truth was he really wasn't, his last and first group had been Dani's team. Turns out he preferred paperwork and the chuunin exam when he had the choice, so after each of the Genin on Dani's team had become Chuunin he basically shifted gears to 'mission assigner' and left the teaching to experience.
And so enters Dani, a box of pocky in her hand and one peice held between her lips as she stared dimly at the scrap sheet of paper held in her other hand. "Whatta load of crap. Where the hell is Rain from here anyways?" She did have something of a tendancy to speak aloud when she didn't care who heard her.

Fade heard the girl speak, and quickly came into view from the dark sidestreet she was walking down. Reporting to Hokage-same could wait... "Hey kid. Aren't you one of Genma's?" Fade asks, a speculative expression adorning her features.
