Dromund Kaas. Many people erroneously believe this to be the homeworld of the Sith. In actuality, the Sith migrated here from Korriban, and founded Dromund Kaas as the capital of their Empire. The planet was originally a much more fertile, if swampy, planet then Korriban. However, extended exposure to the dark side corrupted the planet.
A millenia ago, the planet was rediscovered by a roving band of Sith, fleeing from the Republic at the end of the Great Hyperspace War. They resettled Dromund Kaas, refounding the Sith Empire, and from here built a massive Empire that spanned the unknown regions and outer rim.
Now, Dromund Kaas is that capital, a dark, perverted place where the Sith rule uncontested. The Emperor, a Sith surviving from the Greta Hyperspace War more than a millenia ago, recently gave up power, and while he's still the most powerful member of his order, day-to-day rule is in the hands of the Dark Council.
Aside from politics, Dromund Kaas also serves as the military capital for the Sith, and is host to a large portion of the Imperial Army and Navy. In short, if you're a Sith and want something to do, you'll be here.
