For thousands of years, Coruscant has served as the capital of the Republic. For most of that time, the planet-wide city has enjoyed peace and safety, protected by the Republic Fleet and the Jedi Order. That changed with the War.
Now, much of Coruscant is ruined. The Jedi Temple was destroyed, along with countless Jedi inside. Much of the planet's infrastructure was heavily damaged, including parts of the Senate Complex. Any and all military facilities were burned to the ground.
Though still held by the Republic, the planet is weak and sore.
There are several places of interest. The Temple Ruins beckon any Jedi who wants to sift through the debris. The Senate Rotunda is undergoing maintenance, and half empty due to a loss of half it's members. The Works, Coruscant's industrial heart, is mostly destroyed. The Undercity however, is largely untouched, aside from a few destroyed buildings. A new military base has also been constructed to help maintain order and security.
Needless to say, there's a lot to do.
