"You're such a cutie Nika!" Cal rubbed the little Charmander's head lovingly, being sure to avoid her tail. "Skye, you sure could take a lesson from her." She looked over her shoulder to the backseat where the Pikachu lay, not really caring about anything she was talking about. Cal turned to look out the window of the jeep. The forest was getting thicker and the fact that it was pitch black out didn't help the situation. The jeep's head lights could only do so much. Even though the moon and stars were out that night, the treetops obscured the view only giving slight glances of the sky above.
"Are we almost there Panther?" She turned in her seat, constricted by her seat belt. She tried not to disturb Nike too much or get that tail on anything that would burn or go up in flames. They had been driving a while, making a quick stop to get some of the essentials, food and all that jazz. They had made a mad dash through the store, grabbing the things they needed. Luckily, they made it out alright. Probably because no one expected them to steal food. She squirmed in her seat; Nika was nice but it was staring to get a little too hot with that sweater she had on. But they were slowing down and Cal was ready to jump out of that car to embrace the cool air.

"Yeah we are almost there." he shrugged, eyes on the road. He was pleased that they had managed to get the supplies, having multiple pockets helped. A small clearing was just ahead, ready for them to roll out the blanket.
Nika enjoyed her lap, sleeping, and easlily maluable. Her tail tucked it's self onto one of her arms, carefully placed away from anything flamable.
"She isn't bothering you is she? That one is odd, and will cuddle against anything that lets her." the car slowed somemore, coming to park under a tree.

"She's fine Panther."' The little Charmander wasn't a hassle, but she was making her a bit hot. When they slowed to a stop, Cal gently unbuckled her seat belt and opened the door as quietly as she could. Before she was able to set foot outside the jeep, Skye was rustling in her hair to get out. "Watch it Skye!" She grabbed him by his tail and set him on the ground.
Skye fussed when Cal picked him up by his tail and all the way down until she put him on the ground. "Pika!" He held his nose in the air and walk away to explore the area a bit.
Cal carried out gingerly, taking care not to wake her. "Hey Panther, could you get the stuff? I don't and to wake her." Nika was like a big baby. A cute one at that. Her little rocket bandanna complimented her so well. She walked over to the clearing where a log had seemed to be strategically placed to sit on. She sat down and petted Nika some more and giggle, "Do you baby her Panther?"

He got out and pulled out the supplies. Blanket, check, food, check... Charmander to start the fire, check. "I got it. And no, I do not baby her." much was the unspoken word. he pulled out the stuff and sat it next to her before clearing the area of sticks and large rocks. The sticks he threw into a pile.
Nika contently resettled into the lap with a happy, char. The pikachu when unnoticed from her happy little world.

Cal laughed a bit, "Well you should." She nodded in his direction, the jeep's lights illuminating them. "I'll wake her up so we can get a fire going." She patted Nika gently to stir her. "Wake up Nika, we're here."
Skye padded over to the clearing as Cal tried to rouse the Charmander. "Pi?" He hopped onto the log beside her. "Pika?" He cocked his head to the side, eying the fire pokemon curiously. He put a paw on Nika's head and patted her. "Pi pi pi pi!" [Wake up wake up!]
