VS.

Description: To debut the opening of the new Beach Selena, which sits on the western coast of the GTB plot of land, Midus has decided to host the second round of the tournament in this lovely place. The sun is shining brightly as the warm breeze blows gentle waves along the clear crystal waters. Boats, surfers, and ski boats trail the waters as a large crowd of spectators gather around a single large wooden platform situated out in the middle of the water. This platform will serve as the fighting ground for both fighters as they are transported out here, either via boat or by their own creative method. The platform itself is made of wood, but contains a solid slab of stone underneath it that is four feet tall meant to keep the platform from being destroyed. Though you may think you can destroy rock with your attacks, this stone is extra tough, meaning knocking chunks out of it will be your only capability, so don't expect to punch any holes through it. Field Measurements: The platform is a square shape, with the distance measured from one side to the other merely 15 yards, which equates to 45 feet. You won't be able to run around this thing as freely as the last arena. The platform is raised a foot above water, so if you fall off, you can still simply climb back on. The platform is rooted underneath with a four pillars of the same stone at each corner, so it will always remain stationary. The pillars are ten feet long each (and quite wide), touching the sandy floor underneath. Ten Count Boundary: Falling into the water begins the ten count. If the other fighter goes into the water, too, or makes contact with the fighter in count-out in any way, the count resets. This does not apply if both fighters are in the water. Only when a fighter has both feet on the platform does the count stop for them. The flying rule remains in effect. Other Penalties: Do not attack spectators or attempt to destroy the platform's rooting underwater. Doing so will result in a DQ. Fight Ends: On July 9th, at 9 PM Central.

The unimpeded summer sun was merciless as it beat down upon the platform and spectators around it. Temperatures reached into the unbearable for most of them, but luckily for Krausse the equally unbearable stench of the sweat of hundreds of gap mouthed apes was neutralized by most of them being either in the ocean or coated in water from it. Krausse couldn't smell himself, either; unfortunately, wearing heavy dress clothing that was all dark colors generally did not work out well in heat such as this, but his body temperature somehow maintained itself at a level that kept him from being drenched in sweat in the inactive state that he was.
Krausse set cross legged on the center of the platform, seemingly in a deep, meditative state. In a way, he was thinking deeply, but with a cybernetic brain it was hard to do such a thing since he could do Calculus in his head in the span of a heartbeat, so he just ran through the same analysis of his opponent hundreds of times until Vrael arrived. After the brackets had been announced, Krausse had studied the footage of his opponent's fight that was aired on TV and then to be found on the Internet like everything humanity has ever written down. Vrael was a vicious b*****d with that trident and cutlass, but Krausse was equally vicious with all of his own weapons.
"They paired me up with ******** Aquaman," Krausse muttered under his breath, annoyed. At least this would be some measure of a test of his skill.

A long boat cruised towards the stationary platform with a new group of tourists hanging over the railing to admire the crystal clear waters. Schools of fish followed the boats progress from underwater, the hue of their collective forms creating a pleasant range of colors for the tourists to awe. Dolphins leapt happily around the vessel while squids thrust themselves toward the stone foundations of the platform. The sea was teeming with life and even the rarest of sea creatures managed to show themselves to the crowd.
The most spectacular sight was the massive serpent that reared its head from the sea and swept a single teal eye over the spectators. Water streamed down its long green scaled face and along rows of sharpened teeth as it yawned, shaking off the effects of its deep sleep. Blinking lazily it focused its attention on the approaching vessel and dived under water once more, showing off a thick muscled form that extended for nearly a mile before disappearing with a flick of a tail.
As the boat approached the platform tourists rushed to the railing to get a glimpse of Krausse. Pictures were taken, shirts were lifted, and words were yelled across the platform before an apparent disturbance surged against the crowd. A row of free space was made and a ring of armored men and women strode towards the rails. After glancing at the opponent with cold and wary eyes they parted enough for Vrael to vault over the rail and land safely on the platform, a simple task for the most ordinary of humans. The boat cruised away from the platform but not before a trident was tossed towards Vrael, who turned to catch it in his hand. He stabbed the 'business end' of the weapon into the wooden platform and placed his left hand on the cutlass sheathed at his hip.
The entrepreneur was dressed rather casually for the battle; black slacks, white dress shirt rolled up to his elbows, a purple vest, and dress shoes. Vrael was built like a professional swimmer, slim and well muscled. A polite smile played on his lips while violet eyes playfully observed his opponent. A good twenty feet separated the two, a distance Vrael didn't really plan on shortening just yet.
"Krausse is it? I saw your match in Round One, congratulations on your win,"

Krausse lifted his eyes to look at his opponent as he made a rather average entrance made spectacular by Krausse just having sat there and waited. There was nothing behind Krausse's violet eyes that-
Wait a second.
Matching violet eyes, matching purple dress vest (albeit Krausse's was darker and had black pinstripes), matching slacks and dress shoes, matching body build... Was this guy mocking Krausse? Krausse was in no mood for this s**t; the heat already made him irritable enough to wish he could take the nearest spectators and break them just to hear the soothing lullaby of their pained screams. Krausse himself was made from the genes of the finest specimens of his humanoid race in a test tube a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. The irony of his "clone" before him was unbearable enough that Krausse grit his teeth a bit and narrowed his eyes. While he couldn't snap any spectators in two, it was okay to snap Aquaman in two... as long as Krausse didn't kill him. Ah, but the difficulty was raised!
"Do you wanna see a dead body?" Krausse said in a low, menacing voice only reinforced by the angry glow of his violet eyes. The narrowed glare was that of a killer waiting for his next victim, the kind of focused, yet empty stare that pronounced the afterlife as the next destination to whomever it was directed at, fee waived and ticket cut, ripped, and drenched in blood. He took a menacing step forward with his right foot and popped his katana blade an inch out of the sheath with his left hand to let his right hand hover over the blade handle. Krausse's hands were opposite he way he had fought Leonard, something that may confuse his opponent whom had probably not expected Krausse to be ambidexterous.
"Come a little closer and I'll show you."

Judging by his identical clothes and meditative stance Vrael assumed Krausse was a well-mannered and calm opponent. Mabye Krausse was a real 'gentleman' like Vrael? Mabye he could step forward to shake his hand without fear of losing a limb? Vrael took a few steps forward at this thought and then stopped dead at his opponents words. Quote: "Do you wanna see a dead body?" ....... -____- Great! A homicidal opponent. 'Just my luck!', thought Vrael, his eyes drooped lazily and he heaved a heavy sigh. His last opponent wasn't really interested in fighting and now he was fighting a well-dressed creeper intent on spilling his blood onto the wooden platform. "Nooot really, no," he answered gloomily, dragging a foot along the floor. Krausse's next words were no less creepy and sent a deep shiver down Vrael's spine. 'Why can't I fight a civilized opponent!' he exclaimed inwardly "Erm im fine right here, actually," Maybe his opponent wouldn't attack and they could just have a very stern stare down. The entrepreneur scoffed at the thought and dropped his left hand onto the hilt of the cutlass, shifting the sheath downward and exposing a few inches of the naked blade to the air. His disappointed violet eyes carefully examined Krauss, searching for any warning of an imminent attack.

Stand there? That's all Vrael is going to do? Krausse scoffed and turned to the crowd.
"It seems what we have here," Krausse turned back to Vrael, the violet in his eyes more like the color of blood than flowers and the white of his teeth reflecting the benign light of the passageway to the afterlife, "is a big ******** p***y."
The crowd booed at Vrael while simultaneously cheering for Krausse. In their eyes, Krausse was the champion whom had so won their hearts during his fight with Leonard where he had seemed the shadow cast by some ancient, indomitable God of Battle that swallowed Leonard's broken form like a cornered rat. If Vrael had was human enough to have bits of his backbone painted shades of yellow, yet enough remained a brave red that he dared to look Krausse in his dead, violent eyes, the man might have a flash of himself in that same position with the dark, deadly menace above him with an insatiable ghoul's grin.
"Is he afraid folks? Does he shake in his boots from the fear of me?" Krausse drew the full length of his katana. The blade shone in the sun with its trademark blueish hue, a mark of the steel having been folded so many thousands of times that no human swordsmith could have crafted such a fine weapon - yet, the weapon bore no scent, sight, or feel of having been "tainted" by magical properties. The blade made a swoosh as it cut through the air, the edge seeming so fine that it could cut through the nuclear bonds of air molecules - or maybe that was just the intimidation factor that Krausse gave off? -, then the bloodthirsty warrior raised it to point directly at Vrael's face. Krausse slinked back to a relaxed, arrogant stance that mocked the nature of the duel. The crowd cheered, every word from their silver-tongued champion sending the mouth-breathers into a frenzy. My, oh my, how they loved their Krausse Kreugar, their Joe Plumber Hero.
"I believe he may piss himself when I prove his fears right."
With those words, Krausse lowered his katana so the tip was chest level. He began to move left foot in front of right, right in front of left - and he was off at a dead sprint, albeit a slow start due to his long legs, but Krausse quickly accelerated to cross the short distance between him and Vrael in the span of a few seconds.

Vrael blinked slowly at his opponent and then the crowd before shrugging his shoulders nonchalantly. The crowd was fickle and even if Vrael lost this battle he could win them over after the tournament. He watched Krauss as he aimed the katana at his face and waved it through the air.
He drew the cutlass from it's sheath slowly, flipping it so he may hold it properly in his left hand. Krauss was sprinting towards him now but Vrael still wasn't worried, instead he took a step forward and held the cutlass at waist level with the tip pointed downwards. His right foot pressed lightly against the shaft of his trident, but still plated firmly onto the ground.

Still no move? Krausse was hoping for more initiative out of his opponent, but he couldn't ask for too much stupidity from someone that was clever enough to carry around a taser trident. His opponent was a vicious b*****d, but Krausse was maybe cut of a more murderous type than Vrael, as he had been willing to take a javelin in an armpit just to keep strangling the life out of Leonard, his first opponent. Maybe that murderous intent would even the obvious disadvantage in weaponry between Krausse and Vrael - either that, or the inherent clumsiness of the trident and cutlass, especially when wielded at the same time, would even the playing field.
Psychological warfare was mere speculation in a one-on-one duel, though, and Krausse preferred more than speculation when large weapons could poke holes in him. So just before Krausse entered the range of Vrael's trident, he dropped his left hand down to grab his sheath and drew his sword back slightly to indicate that he was going to slash, but it was a horribly dirty feint. Instead of attacking, Krausse made a short jump to Vrael's right. The move would force Vrael to have to switch the hands that held his trident and cutlass in order to attack Krausse with the lengthy weapon, or Vrael would have to turn his entire body in order to attack Krausse period.
However, by the time Vrael could move his body or make any sort of movement, Krausse used his speed to dart just a foot away from Vrael. Krausse grasped his katana's hilt with both hands and drove it forward in a stab that would sink between Vrael's rips and puncture his right kidney deeply enough to cause rather horrible internal bleeding, but not horrible enough to kill him - quickly, anyway. People watch too many movies where someone bleeds out instantly, but the truth is, even a femoral artery cut takes nearly a full minute to bleed out... and watching a man die, no matter how many times its been experienced, always feels like years that pass by with every ragged, gasping breath and choked, tear-stained prayer to God. As much as he wished he could, Krausse had sworn an oath not to send souls along the Ferryman's path in this tournament, however. Aquaman's True Prayer would not be heard by Krausse's ear - no, not today. His screams as his blood and energy drained would be the theme of Krausse's victory, though; of that, the murderous b*****d assured himself.

His right foor surged forward, flipping the trident into the air just as Krauss stabbed at him with the katana. An invisible barrier seemed to hold the katana at bay effortlessly as Vrael quickly caught the trident nimbly in his right hand while spinning on his heel to thrust towards Krauss, the three prongs of the trident aimed to penetrate deeply into his opponents stomach. Vrael movements were swift, expertly timed to strike at Krauss before he could pull back from his attack.
The ambient temperature dropped as Vrael struck, creating a thin layer of frost over the floor and along the water's surface. A wave crashed against the platform as Vrael launched his trident forward and the falling drops of salty water drenched both combatants in water.

With the katana suspended in air mere centimeters from Vrael's body, Vrael looked like a cancer patient clinging on to dear life by nothing more than the will of a divine power. Albeit, Vrael was a well-armed, strong looking cancer patient, although all of that meant nothing when he found himself helplessly outmaneuvered by Krausse like a chess player bowing down to the chess master. Despite Vrael turning his body to face Krausse, he would be completely unable to use his beloeved taser trident in such close quarters. With a blade that alone was a foot long, the weapon was far too long to use when Krausse was merely a foot away from Vrael. The cutlass was also too large and clumsy a blade to be used in such close quarters, where Krausse could bat it away with a half-assed parry.
With no obvious way to pierce the wonderful device of life saving deus ex machina and no way to dispel it since Krausse lacked any semblance of a magical skillset, the katana was withdrawn by the time that Vrael had turned his body and Krausse's left hand dropped from the hilt to his suit coat. Vrael had a magic barrier and magic weapons; in response, Krausse had response times and thinking speed they seemed like magic. To try and time an attack to Krausse's movements was a foolish thing to do, as Krausse was an object of constant dynamic, kinetic force whose legs only slowed down so that his arms could speed up to slice, dice, and snicker-snack!
When Vrael tried to manuever his trident in the close quarters to strike Krausse, the nimble warrior saw it and already formulated a plan of action. Vrael's spin on his heel would end terribly, as in order to do such a thing the man would have to put all of his weight on the foot and lift his other heel of the ground - a maneuver that, with Krausse so close, begged for an interrupt. With a bloodthirsty grin to match his killer's eyes, Krausse swept Vrael's foot out from under him with his above-human strength while Krausse simultaneously drew his dagger from his suit coat with the left hand he had so stealthily slipped in before. The sharp steel blade glinted in the bright sun as it was drawn in a motion fast enough to be a blur. The next time Vrael would see the weapon, it would be buried in his right wrist so deep that it would sever the tendons, thus making the hand that held the trident absolutely useless. At the same time that Krausse stabbed Vrael in the right wrist, he would slide his katana under his left arm to stab Vrael in the left wrist that held the fish man's cutlass. It was a move that would sever the same tendons, except in a different hand.

If anyone cared to notice, an odd watercraft: a self-powered wooden barge of about 70 feet in length and 30 feet in width, drifts outside of the circle of spectator boats. On the barge is a single generation 2 silver Dodge caravan, a single bare V8 engine with both of the radiator hoses in the water, with a shaft at the end of the crank that went underwater. The engine is mounted upon a swivel platform that A "dark elf" guy is controlling the direction of. Vrael would recognize this individual, if he could take a glance, as his first opponent. Thurgood didn't come to interrupt the match and then be barred from competing next year, but instead watch Vrael lose; badly he hopes. Just as the barge, originally modified to carry a Kenworth W900 and a single-wide mobile home, approaches a spot where a cluster of smaller boats have parked, Thurgood kills the V8, runs to the front (with much pain), hefts the makeshift anchor and drops it to the ocean bottom while the barge drifts for a few yards, putting the Caravan right in the middle of the line-of-sight to the platform as a viewing perch.

Vrael reacted instantly to Krauss leg sweep, generating a cylinder of indigo light that expanded from within his body before clashing against both of Krauss blades. At the point of contact the forcefield wavered for a few seconds before expanding again to push away his opponent. The shield covered all of the Vraels body as he lay on the wooden ground. He released his grip on the trident and swung his right hand through the air.
A series of seven waves, twelve feet high and twenty feet wide, rose from the depths of the water and crashed against the platform without warning. These waves mercilessly leapt at Krauss and would sweep him away in their watery arms, dragging him towards the opposite end of the arena. If he wasn't strong enough to resist the waves Vrael's opponent would find himself being pushed off the edge of the platform by the waves while Vrael himself remained in the same position.
With the protection offered by his forcefield Vrael could direct the blast of water to follow Krauss, although the strain of supplying his forcefield personal energy became apparent once his breathing became slightly labored and sweat began to collect on his forehead. Regardless Vrael smiled, despite the several close calls that nearly cost him his position within the tournament.

"********!" Krausse screamed as his blades were again suspended in empty hair. "******** your weak a** invisible barriers! ******** that p***y s**t! Fight me like a man, you b***h!"
Hot breath and the words in it exited Krausse's body for if its temperature mixed with the even hotter blood running through his veins, then he would surely boil alive. The telltale "anger vein" in Krausse's forehead stood prominently and comically as it pumped hard against his flesh and skull to show just how mad he was. Every time he was about to win, some damn magic spell stopped him and he was righteously pissed about it. If Vrael wasn't deaf, he would be able to tell the crowd was equally pissed, as they began to boo loudly and call Vrael all sorts of names. Someone even mentioned something about fish dicks!
"What the ******** is this s**t, ******** Neverneverland with Captain d**k and his a** Pirates that cast c**k of the Infinite and-" Krausse was cut off by the obnoxious, but not blinding, indigo light. "My eyes! Blinded by your faggotry!"
Before the "few seconds that the forcefield wavered was over", Krausse thought "******** this" and withdrew his katana and dagger, the blades having met resistance that would be neither cut nor pierced through. Instead of backing away from from Vrael while the barrier wavered, Krausse sheathed his dagger, cocked back his leg and kicked Vrael's barrier as hard as possible. Behind this move was a theory, and Krausse's theory was that the barrier covered Vrael's entire body, so that the barrier was making contact with the ground and not Vrael's body, because to make contact with Vrael's body would deprive him of any oxygen. Furthermore, Krausse theorized that the barrier had a smooth surface to deflect projectiles and angled attacks, as shields generally had smooth or studded surfaces for a reason. Furthermore, Vrael was like a very, very heavy roll of quarters inside a big box and when the big box is shaken by a size fourteen dress shoe wrecking ball, the quarters bounce around with a good deal of energy.
So when Krausse kicked the barrier as hard as he could when it began to expand, not only would Vrael find himself sent flying out of bounds like a slingshot bullet (beginning flying count and the out of bounds count since Krausse and Vrael were so close to the edge), but his body would bump hard against the back of the barrier. If Vrael somehow managed to drop his trident and bring up the high pressure waves during this, then Krausse equally managed be swept away by the current. He was knocked breathless until he was swept off the side of the platform, where Krausse begin falling with the platform's new waterfall until he stabbed his katana into the side of the wooden platform and held onto it. The extremely durable blade and handle were not about to break without extreme pressures exerted upon them. <******** Aquaman a*****e," Krausse muttered under his nice, cold shower.

As Thurgood finally climbs atop his Caravan to watch Vrael get his a** kicked (hopefully), the waves that Vrael summons move all of the boats on the water, and Thurgood's barge didn't respond to it like all of the other watercraft did. Being long, the building waves didn't hit it evenly, and since the barge is drawing absolutely no draft, one end went up as the other want back down and the low end got hit with the next wave, and the pattern alternates until the entire deck is covered in water. Though the buoyancy comes from air-filled floats underneath, water weighs 8.25 pounds per gallon. The water is six inches high, almost up to the top of the deck's lip, which means there's more than 32 tons of water burdening the barge now, and is causing the barge to slowly sink. Boats larger than a ski boat were just fine, though some of the smaller canoes, fishing boats, and kayaks got swamped and-or capsized. "Oh s**t... I better have a bucket or something in the van..." As Thurgood's charred tundra boots hit the deck though, they don't even make a splash. There's no water on the deck of the barge, and not really any waves larger than a couple inches: his fever, from an infection likely picked up at his return to Rhoslyn's yellow sand beach, and now massive amount of pain are causing him to hallucinate. Thurgood stumbles to the liftgate of the Caravan as he digs through his pocket for keys.
