This year, grading was more streamlined in order to make for faster results. However, even with the convenience of time, there were still a lot of people who wanted to know how they did in their fight from the judges' point of view and further wanted to know why they received the scores that they did. In addition, the detail of point breakdowns were not given, mainly due to time constraints, but that will be fixed ahead of time for the next round. However, we can still offer the break down upon request. This thread was spawned for the participants to come and ask about what was done right or wrong in their match. However, due to the expected amount of replies, keep your replies to a minimum to allow others to have their questions or concerns heard. This also means this thread will not allow ANY SPAM. Any post given here that doesn't relate to their match or is merely commentary on others' will be deleted. The OOC thread is for those types of discussions.

I'm comfortable with 2/3 of my results.
I'd like a breakdown of why I scored 16 in the opinion of one of the Judges.

I actually agree with/expected my fight (Omi vs Robyn)'s results. But, a little clarification on exactly why I lost by the margin I did, or rather the main reason why, would be appreciated so I can put it into better perspective.

*Brings doughnuts.*
I've already gotten the commentary I asked for from two of my judges:
Tenkai and Rhos.
I was just wondering if I could get feedback from the third one.
Mind you, I'm not troubled by my score, so my request should be pretty low priority.

My call was very close, Hael; .4 point spread. Basically, she won more points for dominance because she was capable of leaving the arena under her own power, even assuming the other attack hit unmolested.
It also felt to me like she was using her character's advantages just a little bit more than you did with yours - not just LOLMAGIC, but speed, agility, etc.
Honestly, if I had enough power to abuse I'd say "******** this, Omi's fighting one of the people who didn't get a fight simply because I want to read his posts more", but I'm not important enough to do it.

I'm content with the results. I'm aware that absolutely NOTHING happened in my fight.
How was it scored?

Old Man KB I'm comfortable with 2/3 of my results. I'd like a breakdown of why I scored 16 in the opinion of one of the Judges. I did the 16, and I'll show you why. KB vs. Iden Spelling/ Grammar 5 - 5 Conciseness/ Writing Ability 5 - 5 Roleplaying 2 - 4 I enjoyed Iden's roleplaying better. Not only was he concentrating on the fight, but when I read his posts, he gave some insight on his character's reaction to fighting such a monster like KB. He played the role of the "underdog" pretty well, while your posts played out basically "RAWR, RAWR, I'm scratching and biting you, I'm gonna tear you up!" Though it's roleplay, Iden's roleplay was simply better. Not to mention, I don't think you roleplayed KB's weakness to the sun that well. Even if it was for a few seconds, a vampire exposed to a sun, with your listed weakness, is not going to be standing there still able to think logically. And with his eyes boiling, how the hell did he know where the shadow was.Creativity/ Strategy 2 - 4 It's already bad how good KB's abilities are, so at first, you were in the lead here. But when Iden started pressuring your character and using logical actions, that is when his fighting started to look better, while yours was looking more like the "I'm going to throw everything I got at you." Your abilities weren't the problem, because we already let it in, but it's when you started spamming them was when I frowned. And the tactic to throw your character out into the sun won me over because it was the most logical thing to do. Control of the Fight 2 - 3 Once KB got burned, I saw the control tilt in Iden's favor and should have balanced then on. KB was in control, but I didn't mark up a lot because it's easy to be in control when you have safe moves to begin with. 16 - 21

The Haelstrom Fist I actually agree with/expected my fight (Omi vs Robyn)'s results. But, a little clarification on exactly why I lost by the margin I did, or rather the main reason why, would be appreciated so I can put it into better perspective. Omi vs. Robyn Spelling/ Grammar 5 - 5 Conciseness/ Writing Ability 5 - 5 Roleplaying 4 - 5 Creativity/ Strategy 3 - 4 Control of the Fight 4 - 3 21 - 22 You guys were basically on par with one another on basically every area. The only difference is with the way she roleplays and how she used her character's abilities to her advantage. Omi, you're a good read, but sometimes, not all the time, you can go over the top with your roleplaying. Robyn's roleplaying was more pure, to say. It flowed a bit better and she had a fine grasp on giving a three dimensional look at her character. That's mainly where she got a point higher.

Old Man KB I'm comfortable with 2/3 of my results. I'd like a breakdown of why I scored 16 in the opinion of one of the Judges. As an aside to this, I'd like to know why KB lost even though two judges said he won, and one said he lost. It seems sort of.. well, very, very not-logical-at-all that one judge would somehow trump two judges. Seeing as how I've been jabbering about it for like the past hour or so in the OOC thread (much to the annoyance to everyone therein, I'm sure), I'd just like to know what the deal is here, as to why the points are somehow trumping 2/3 > 1/3. Unrelated, but I'd also like to know the criteria/scoring system you guys are using.. just out of curiosity. How many points are possible, how many points per each category?
