Name: Tayne Age: Doesn't know.. She looks about 19 Race: Human...maybe... Eyes: Ice blue Hair: Purplish-blue Height: 5'7" Weight: N/A History: Tayne's past is unknown to her. As far back as she can remember she had been without a home and a family. She is extreamly bright and has earned her GED through a free community college. Her professors were quite astonded on how quickly she was able to learn the basics, seeing as she had no other schooling before then. She often spends time at the public library reading, and it is one of her favorite pastimes. Tayne is now living in the the home of Kirk and Renee Sanderson, whom now gladly provide for her. She also is seeking work at a local book shop part time. Slowly she is learning to not be so fearful of people, and when she let's her guard down she finds that she enjoys the company of others. Tayne now knows she has great prowess in using fire magic, though doesn't like to admit it. She doesn't want to hurt anyone, and is trying to teach herself how to control it. Personality: Smart, withdrawn, kind Name: Mikomi Race: Lanurn Spirit Post Color: #8B668B or plum 4Personality: Timid. She would rather spend time alone or with Tayne, either tending to her small garden, taking walks or reading. It's not that she hates people, she's just frightened that people won't like her for who she is, and doesn't want to risk getting hurt or hurting others. She truly dislikes to see people sad, especially if she caused it. She is still very helpful around the house, and would never even think about not considering Tayne her mother. She finds peace in philosophy and has a soft spot for fantasy novels, as long as they aren't to 'mushy' and partain more about one's battles against themselves or evil doers then a love story, though she enjoys a little fluff every now and then Likes: Tayne, tea, flowers, reading

<<--items banner here-->> Tayne: A book of fire magic given to Tayne by her father. A vial of fire essance bought at a shop by Mikomi as a gift to Tayne Mikomi: After making friends with Arian, Mikomi wished to have a floating plant as well, and was allowed to go out and purchase this. The ribbon-like item that swirls around it seems to seperate when touched, then form back together.

First RP- Kaze, Tayne and Sana (unfinished) kaze1981 Kaze muched absently on a cookie as she wandered into the shop, her grey eyes distracted behind her small oval glasses.
Tucked under her left arm was a small harp, the silverish-white, silver inscribed wood looking old if carefully cared for.
The blue-haired woman wondered if there would be anyone around - last time she had seen Enikil and Aikori.. but...
It's not like I pass by this way very often... Her lips quirked ruefully at the thought. Mizu_Taji This place felt so odd to Tayne. It was almost like a picture out of a fairy tale.
Almost.
But of course, any place where one wakes up after being revived from hypothermic shock would feel strange to anyone.
Blue eyes gazing about, she saw someone she hadn't seen before. Her ears receded to a point. An elf perhaps?
No, she was much to short to be an elf...
Brushing her dark violet hair out of her eyes she watched as the woman munched on a cookie, keeping to the shadows. She didn't mix well with people. They never seemed to take notice of her anyway.
A grey-hued paper lanturn swung on her arm, keeping it's light dim. Tayne was glad. She didn't want any attention drawn to her
Not yet anyway Getsurei [ http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v161/Getsurei/thousand07.jpg ] A young girl stumbled into the shop. She looked around slowly and a large smile came to her face. Everything was so beautiful, it didn't seem real. The girl didn't get out much, except to get groceries or the odd supplies. She then noticed a girl with blue hair. She hadn't seen anyone like her. She was aleast a foot or so shorter then the the pretty lady. She alowly walked up to her. "Hello." kaze1981 Kaze blinked, her grey eyes startled as she turned to look in the direction of the voice.
A friendly smile crossed her lips though "Hello." The girl was an unfamiliar face - one Kaze didn't recognise.. Although considering how infrequently the half-sprite was around that was hardly surprising. The girl was also about a foot shorter than her, something Kaze privately thought was unfair - height.. Or more importantly her lack of height being a sore issue with the blue-haired woman and something she wished she hadn't inherited from Iarina.
The cookie Kaze was eating dangled in her hand and she looked at it before munching on it again. "Would you like a cookie?" She asked the girl.
To some the statement might seem a little odd, but to those who knew the half-sprite it was typically Kaze question. Mizu_Taji Tayne watched as the short raven haired girl walked in, even shorter than the grey-eyed woman that continued to munch idely on her cookie. She blinked and then took notice of the taller one's harp for the first time.
Or at least she thought it was a harp. She'd actually had never seen one in real lifebefore, so she could have been wrong. Still, she found it a pont of interest. She looked down at her lanturn.
Yup. The light was still dim.
Tayne smiled in amazment at the little paper light, and quickly pondered how it stayed lit.
She then brushed off the thought and turned her gaze back to the two. Getsurei "Oh my goodness! Are you serious?" No one had ever given her anything. Her family didn't have alot of money, usually just enough to keep them alive. Her family was also very traditional. The girls eyes wandered until they reached the harp. "Oh, its so shiny and pretty!" You could obviously tell she was amused by anything, it also didn't help that she was so young. "By the way, my name is Sana. Nice to meet you." The little girl bowed. kaze1981 Kaze blinked again, the girl's response not quite what she was expecting before she nodded. "Sure, I tend to make a lot of cookies since I really like them" she smiled ruefully. "There's just something about fresh, just out of the oven cookies."
The smile faded slightly as the girl's eyes caught sight of the harp. "Thank you Sana, it was a..." She hesitated. "A gift." She shifted it slightly. "Something from someone who knew my mother."
The smile returned "And my name is Kaze, pretty much just Kaze."

[Self Roleplay] It's odd how one thing can change so many others...
Tayne yawned slightly as her feet plodded along through the snow. It was cold, yes, but not as cold as a few nights ago. Sticking out her tounge, she shook her head to free herself from the memory.
Now wasn't the time for thinking. Now was the time to get home before she slipped into hyothermic shock again.
Home... What an odd word. Especially since it wasn't really a home at all. It was a shed.
It was well built and large, and no cold air leaked inside. It had a cot and a wooden box for a table, and a battery-powered space heater type gizmo that kept it warm inside...
But it wasn't really a "home". Just a place that the people who owned it let her stay in.
At least it was better than the carboard box she was sleeping in just a few weeks before, and they gave her good meals, better then some of the handouts at the soup kitchen.
And much better then dining in trash bins. Yugh...
She dug her hand into her pocket, which made the dull silver paper lanturn that clung to her arm by a mere string sway even more in the slight wind. Its light was dim, as if it didn't like the cold.
"You get used to it..." she told it, then realized that she was talking to a paper light. Shaking her head, she wondered if she was becoming hypothermic again.
Producing a silver key from the pocket that just had been invaded, she walked past a homely little house. It was small and quaint, and she could see two people chatting with each other through the large bay window. One was a portly woman with a wild brown hued hairstyle, the other, a not so chubby man with thinning raven locks.
Kirk and Renee Sanderson. Two very nice people. After all, they were willing to take her in when no one else wanted to think that she even existed...

[Self Roleplay (continued from first)] Walking through the home-owners yard, Tayne made her way to the back yard. There stood a large shed. Or at least it was large by shed standards. She rolled the silver key in her hand as she approached it. There was a latch on the door, which had a padlock dangling from it to keep the door closed.
She shoved the key into the lock and gave a quick twist, which made the tumblers spin and let loose the metal curve it selfishly held, allowing her to remove the lock and open the door. When she entered she shut the door and hooked the lock on the inner latch, just to be safe.
Or that's what Kirk said to do anyway.
The place looked different then when she had left it a few days before. There were new things in there: unripped clothing, a portable mini stove, a teapot and cups, and even thicker bedding for her cot.
The Sandersons must have been busy while she was away.
She smiled as she looked around. She really wasn't used to people being this nice to her. It was indeed an odd feeling.
She placed the silver paper light on the wooden box that was next to the bed, which had been there before.
The woman at the shop had asked her to give the light a name... What was it again?
Like it made a difference anyway. It's not like lamps had feelings, let alone genders to be able to give them names.
Sure, she lived on the streets for a while, but she wasn't THAT stupid.
"Mikomi" Her voice shook as she said it. How she remembered it was beyond her, but still, it had a nice ring to it.
Maybe there was something more to this light than a little papar orb.
Just...maybe...

RP- Tayne and Dusk(unfinished) Mizu_Taji Curious light blue eyes peered down the alley towards the boy. Or at least she thought it was a boy. He had an odd complection, a pale purple with a hint of gray. Or black maybe. She was too far away to tell.
She could see that he was upset though. That was clear enough to her from the distance. A dull silver paper orb clung to her arm, its light becoming slighly brighter, though not bright enough to touch the stranger.
It was almost like it was trying to reach out to him, but it was too afraid...
Tayne shook her head. How could a lamp be afraid. How could it comfort?
But still, the boy seemed rather lonely. Walking down the alley slowly, she looked at him with concern, but offered him no words. Rown Dusk turned his head up at the sound of foot steps, his face stone and his eyes lifeless. Someone he had never seen before was approaching him, but by the way she moved and the lantern that glowed on her arm...he knew she was no threat.
"...."
He stayed where he was; not speaking, not moving. If this person who was coming towards him was to engage...they would have to start. Dusk's curiosity had run out. Mizu_Taji It looked like he wasn't going to say anything...
Great. She was horrid at starting convorsations. She rubbed the back of her neck, a nervous habit that always seemed to come out when she was about to speak to someone for the first time. She could have just walked away, just left him be. He obviously didn't care that she was coming.
But he just seemed so... lost. That was the best way she could put it. She couldn't just walk away. She had a pretty good understanding how it felt like to be a shadow, to be someone people would just walk by and not take notice. She had to say something.
"Hello..."
At least it was a start.

[Self Roleplay] Silence... What an odd sound...
Or was it the lack of sound that made it so odd, so welcomed by some and loathed by others?
She scowled at nothing and jutted her tounge out. Now wasn't the time to get philosophical.
Sitting cross-legged on her cot, she allowed her eyes to gaze around lazily. She should be sleeping, but sleep had not come yet. Her hues fell upon her little light as it sat dimly on her makeshit endtable, its silver aura bathing its little corner with a soft, fading light. She had to admit, it did do a good job at making things look beautiful in its soft light.
"Alright lampy..." she sighed slightly. "I need something to help me fall asleep. Maybe... talking to an inanimate object like yourself would help..."
The lanturn did nothing. It didn't flicker, and it couldn't dim, if it did it would go out. It just sat there, its light unwavering as though it was listening intently.
But lamps can't listen, can they?
"Ok..." she began, not being good at starting convorsations, even if the thing she was about to converse with couldn't talk back. "Have you ever felt... unwanted before? I'm sure you haven't, being a little paper orb with an unknown lightsorce... Well..." and with that the girl let out her whole story of being alone, being laughed at, being kicked and hit, being hungry, and the horrible feelings of being unwanted, uncared for. She had never told a living being the whole story, and when she finished, even though it brought back painful memories, it was nice to get it off her chest. With a large yawn she reached over and patted the lamp lightly on its brim.
"Thanks for listening..." she said somewhat sheepishly, then laid herself down and fell asleep.

[RP-Private: Tayne Arian and Kaze] Mizu_Taji Ice blue eyes watched intently as the children passed, laughing and playing whatever game they were. They seemed so happy, so carefree, so unaware of how cruel the world could be.
And she envied them with every fiber of her being.
The deep violet locked girl remained idle on the park bench where she had planted herself, in need of an open thinking space. A paper orb of a silver-grey hue sat on her lap, its light dim, as it has been ever since she had recieved it. Oddly enough, she had become quite fond of the little lanturn.
It did not judge, nor mock, nor hurt in anyway.
And for the first time, she didn't find herself crazy for 'befriending' this, in her perception, unliving object. So far it was the only friend she had.
Friend. Another odd word she wasn't used to using.
She continued to watch until the children were out of sight, and an odd thought crossed her mind
What was fun like? kaze1981 "Come on Mummy!" The voice sounded young, its owner a jade-haired boy with a silver horn his emerald eyes bright with interest and curiousity. "Do you think if I go on a swing it will feel like flying?""I don't know" This voice belonged to a blue-haired woman following behind at a slower pace, a jade lantern held carefully in her right hand and a bag of cookies tucked into her midnight blue sash. On either side of her head fluttered a feathered headwing and her ears were pointed in such a way as to be similar to those of an elf. "Isn't this where you met two other spirits... The day you knocked ink on Kori's sketchbook"The unicorn boy nodded "Yep, though I didn't mean too" he looked earnestly at the blue haired woman. "It was an accident." Mizu_Taji "Hm?" she mused ever so slightly as the two came into view. She had seen the blue-haired... woman before in the shop where she had been given her lanturn. She now had a lanturn of her own, a different style, but a nice looking lanturn all the same.
The boy though, she hadn't seen before. She would have remembered, seeing as she didn't know many people with a horn in the center of their forehead and a tail. Whatever, or whoever he was, he seemed like a happy, carefree child.
She then found herself pondering the boy's question. She hadn't been on a swing before, though she had seen many others use them for their pleasure.
And just what did flying feel like? She decided to keep watch on them.
Just to see if her questions would become answered. kaze1981 Kaze smiled ruefully "I know it was an accident Arian and so does Kori".Arian stared up at Kaze, though to be honest there wasn't that much height difference between the pair. "So why was he so mean about it? He was mean about it when I accidentally flooded the bathroom or when I spilt water on the floor that day... He's always mean."Kaze sighed "I don't know, that's just the way he is - he's always like that. He's like that with everyone, including me." She hoped that that would be an end to it."But..." Arian opened his mouth.Or maybe not. "Don't you want to get the swings?" Kaze asked. "I thought you wanted to see if it'd be like flying" she teased.
That seemed to distract Arian and he took of in the direction of the swings with a 'hurry up' over his shoulder.
Looking around thoughtfully Kaze followed. Mizu_Taji Sitting around was becoming boring. Plucking up her lanturn, she stood up and brushed off her backside. Benches always seemed to carry dirt or dust of some kind, and this bench was no exeption. After that was finished, she began to wander aimlessly over towards the swings. Curiosity was one of her strong points, yet one of her flaws as well.
Another was being shy out the wazoo, which is why she kept her mouth shut and her steps soft. She didn't like to talk.
That is, unless it didn't talk back.
She found herself looking down thoughtfully at her lanturn. The woman had a lanturn too. Maybe she could start a convorsation about that.
Yeah, and maybe all of heck would freeze over... kaze1981 Arian reached the swings first and sat impatiently on the first available one. "Come on Mummy! I need you to help push!" His emerald green eyes were excited - he was going to finally find out if it was like flying.Kaze smiled "In a minute Arian, give me a minute" she said as she caught up to him. The swings seemed abandonned, people choosing to play round the sand pit, roundabout and slides. Not that it didn't suit the blue haired half sprite that way. It'd be kind of peaceful that way.
Walking behind Arian she thought she saw a woman heading over in the direction of the swings, but then again maybe she wasn't - her stride wasn't purposeful more aimless, kind of heading in a genral direction but not necessarily that direction."Make sure to push really high Mummy" Arian said excitedly pointing to a nearby tree. "Maybe if you push me high enough I can touch those branches up there!" The unicorn boy added. Mizu_Taji With a sigh Tayne sat down a few swings away. The chains felt cold to the touch, but oddly enough it felt comfortable. She lifted her legs, just to see what would happen. The swing lurched slightly, but not enough to call it a swing.
"How do you make this thing work?" she asked louder then she intended kaze1981 Kaze smiled secretively at Arian, knowing full well from personal experience that no matter how hard she pushed the unicorn boy was never going to reach the branches he had pointed out. The great thing about swinging though was that you thought you could. To Kaze there was something almost magical about swinging, with the song of wind in your ears and the illusion if for just a little bit of flying..."Aren't you going to push me?"Arian was staring at her curiously, his head tilted slightly to one side and Kaze gave a start at being caught out in her thoughts like that. "Of course" she grinned pulling the swing back and giving it a shove, before giving it another push then another.~ o ~ o ~ o ~ She had just started to start to instruct Arian on how to move his legs so that he could keep swinging on his own when she heard the voice, her head turning automatically in its direction. With a friendly smile she told the girl "I'll come and help you in a minute if you want - I can give you a startup push. The secret is really in how you move your legs though."Arian turned his head to look at the girl and let go of the swing with one hand to give her a wave forgetting he was on a swing, remembering almost after nearly overbalancing. With a sheepish smile he managed not to fall off and instead gave the girl a bright smile, his emerald eyes peering in great interest at her lantern "Hi." Mizu_Taji Red took place of her once pale cheeks. Her hand was already over her mouth from when she spoke too loudly, and now she was so overcome with worry that she hadn't taken it down yet. Slowly, as she brought it down, she lowered her gaze.
"He... hello..." she studdered, replying to the boy's chipper greeting. kaze1981 Arian grinned at the girl taking his eyes briefly away from the lantern to grin at her "Do you have a name? I'm Arian and that's Mummy." His friendly response seemed to either ignore or not notice the girl's stuttering response.Kaze gave the girl a kindly look a tinge of anxiety in her voice at her nervous-seeming behaviour "Are you ok?" She asked gently. "I won't help if you don't want me to. A startup push always helps when swinging though." She sounded like she knew from experience. Mizu_Taji "Tayne... My name is Tayne" she replied, fidgeting with her hands. She never had really spoken to anyone before. She had a reason to act this way.
Or at least that's what she told herself.
"I'm fine..." she said. "There's no need to bother with a push... wouldn't get me that far anyway, seeing as this is all so... strange..." her voice trailed, her mind racing.
Talking definatly wasn't one of her strong suits kaze1981 "Tayne? I like that name, it's pretty. What does it mean?" Arian looked at Tayne curiously. "Mine means silver I think" he scrunched up his face in thought and then looked at Kaze for confirmation, "Doesn't it Mummy?""Pleased to meet you Tayne, my name is Kaze and I don't mind giving you a startup push" Kaze shrugged at Tayne. ""Is it your first time on a swing?"
Tilting her head slightly at Arian's question she gave the unicorn boy a bemused smile. "Yes it does mean silver." Mizu_Taji "Thank you..." she said at the boy's compliment. She then looked at Kaze again. Even sitting down in the low swing, she could tell that she was shorter then she, and looked to be about her age, between the late teens and early twenties.
But she also knew that looks could mislead.
"Yes, this is my first time on one of these things. Silly, I know, but when your all alone you have prioreties..." she stopped and realized that she was actually having a conversation with two living beings, and nothing bad was happening...
What the heck? kaze1981 Kaze nodded at Tayne, although she didn't ask any questions of Tayne about her comment. The blue-haired woman's nod seemed understanding, almost as if she understood what the other was saying.Arian looked puzzled at Tayne. All alone.. But didn't she get lonely being alone. He opened his mouth to ask her, but closed it again as Mummy gave him a look and shook her head slightly. That only made him more curious, but he figured it was one of those things Mummy had told him he shouldn't ask.
Looking around his eyes fell on Tayne's blue-grey lantern again "It's pretty" he told her.Kaze dug in her sash and retrieved a small bag of cookies "Would you like a cookie?" she asked Tayne, trying not to laugh at the look on Arian's face as he shifted his attention to her. "And yes you can have one too Arian" she said, answering the question before the unicorn boy could even ask it. "You might want to stop swinging first though." Mizu_Taji Tayne smiled slightly as she looked down at her lanturn. "Thank you..." She peered up at the swinging Arian once more. "Your mummy has a nice one too. It matches your unique coloring"
She then gazed at Kaze again. Even though they just met, she felt as though she could connect with her, but then again it was only a feeling...
"A cookie? Sure... I guess... I mean if you really don't mind..." kaze1981 Arian grinned at Tayne "Mummy doesn't mind - she gives cookies to everyone!" The unicorn boy frowned slightly in thought then added "Well not Uncle Kori's friend who's a boy since he's creepy and not Uncle Kori either because Mummy says he doesn't like cookies." Arian ignored the embarassed look on Kaze's face and continued "Personally I think it's cause he's a meanie though.""Arian!" Kaze's voice wasn't sharp, but it caused the unicorn boy to flush slightly and duck his head slightly, especially when he caught the disappointment in her eyes. "You know it's not nice to speak badly of others" she rebuked mildlyArian gave Kaze a slightly rebellious look, before mumbling a downcast appology. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that" he muttered quietly. Even though it's true! he added silently to himselfKaze sighed slightly and gave Tayne a rueful smile "Please forgive Arian, our housemate is not much of a people person and can be.. A bit abrupt sometimes." She extended the bag of cookies to Tayne "And of course I don't mind if you have a cookie - help yourself." Mizu_Taji Hesitantly she reached into the bag that Kaze had offered and pulled out one of the edible disks. She looked at it for a few moments, then took a small bite.
"Its good, thank you," she stated after she swallowed. She then took another bite, this one a bit larger then the first. She had already eaten the breakfast that her current hosts had been kind enough to provide.
But there was always room for a cookie.
"You come around here often?" she asked with a small smile, wondering slightly if they's be like the others, just talk once then never talk again.
She didn't really mind though. It happened so much that she was used to it.
Still, it was nice to be able to talk to someone, no matter how weird it felt at first. kaze1981 "I'm glad you liked it Tayne" Kaze said with a smile in response to the girl's compliment on her cookies. "I bake them myself.. And yes I do come here fairly often, although Arian comes here more."Arian nodded enthusiastically "We don't live too far from here - well the place really belongs to Uncle Kori but he lets us live with him." He added "And I like it here. I've met other people like me here, although they were smaller.
Having managed to stop swinging he held out his hand for a cookie.Laughing Kaze gave him one as she asked Tayne with a smile "And how about you Tayne - do you come here often?" Mizu_Taji "This is actually my first time... of what I can remember anyway" she said somewhat meekly, then finished off her cookie. She then gazed at Arian.
"Others like you? What do you mean by that?" She was confused by the boy's wording kaze1981 Arian blinked "Other spirits like me - but smaller than me" he told Tayne. "There was a green one called Aikori and a yellow one whose name I can't remember," he frowned. "I wanted to stay longer and talk to them, but I had to get back though I didn't want to."Kaze blinked herself and looked at Arian curiously "Aikori? As in Enikil's child?" She asked the unicorn boy curiously. She'd been planning to take Arian with her the next time she saw Enikil and introduce him to both Aikori and Enikil - she hadn't realised they'd already met.
She frowned to herself slightly Although it might not have been the same Aikori, Arian could have met someone else called Aikori....Arian shrugged "I don't think.." He frowned "Wait! I think he said something about an Enikil... And a Cloud" he added. "I can't remember though." He looked back at Tayne "I met a spirit who was my size once too, but it wasn't here it was at the lantern shop where Mummy bought my lantern." Mizu_Taji Tayne tilted her head at the unicorn's words.
A spirit?
"A lantern shop, eh? I think I saw your mom there the last time I visited. You weren't there though... or at least of what I can remember..." she withdrawed her voice as she herself drew in to think for a few moments. She then looked at Arian again.
"What do you mean, spirit?" she finally had courage to ask, hoping he didn't mind. kaze1981 Kaze blinked at Tayne "Did you?" Her voice sounded curious, the half sprite not remembering meeting the other girl before today. "I'm sorry" she sounded appologetic. "It's just I didn't recall meeting you before today."Arian looked at Tayne "Umm I mean spirits like me." He didn't really know how to explain it. "Like when I was stuck in there" he pointed at the lantern that Kaze had placed carefully down and slightly out of the way so she could push him on the swing. "It was boring in there though - there's nothing to see.. Not like out here." Mizu_Taji "I really wasn't trying to be found..." she said. "This is my first time speaking to someone that I haven't really met before... so then I just observed... You spoke to a small girl in a kimono... I think..." she said, wondering if maybe she had the wrong person.
"Well, it seems like it would be rather boring in a lantern, but then again, when you're a lantern people smile at your beauty and give you a home as soon as they see you. You wouldn't have to worry about hunger or thirst, or anything like that..." She stopped and thought about what she was saying.
"Wait one moment... you came from what?" kaze1981 Kaze nodded "I think I remember. I offered her a cookie." Actually Kaze pretty much offered everyone cookies - it seemd to be just something the blue haired woman did - a part of her nature mayhaps. She smiled ruefully "I was worried I'd met you before and had been rude to you somehow."Arian tried to roll his eyes at Kaze's last sentence - Mummy was never rude.. She was always proper... Even to Uncle Kori... She made him be proper too, even though personally the unicorn boy didn't know why he had to be proper to meanies like Uncle Kori.
Listening to Tayne speak he interrupted "But it's boring in there - there's nothing to see. You can hear things but not see them and there's nothing to do." Being in the lantern seemed a somewhat touchy subject to him.
At Tayne's second question he pointed to his lantern again wondering why she sounded so surprised. "From there." Mizu_Taji He came from a lantern? That just couldn't be right...
Tayne admitted the boy was small...ish, but still...
How could he fit inside a tiny lantern? It was impossible. Impractical.
But then, Arain seemed young. Perhaps it was one of those fazes that children went through. That made sence to the violet-haired girl, seeing as she had no childhood, so it was possible that she missed out having a 'pretend' origin. Still, she didn't want to ruin his day.
"Oh, that's what I thought you said..." she said with a meek smile. kaze1981 Kaze laughed at the puzzled look on Tayne's face "Actually I was sleeping when it happened so the first person he met was Kori" the smile faded - waking up to find an irate Kori trying to throw out Arian wasn't exactly one of the best things that had ever happened to her...
And she had been serious in what she'd told Arian that night - she would have left if Kori had thrown him out. Though for some reason he hadn't and although Kaze wasn't arguing she wasn't sure why Kori had done something so out of character as to let Arian stay either - not that she was going to ask him though.Arian sneaked another cookie out of the bag Kaze was holding while she was distracted. While Mummy was distracted was always one of the best times to do it as she always stopped him eating too many cookies.
Goal accomplished he muttered something that sounded suspiciously like "Uncle Kori is mean" before smiling at Tayne again "So do you live near here too?" Mizu_Taji Tayne watched Arian with rapt attention as he sucsesfully removed the cookie, then looked back at Kaze and smiled.
She didn't want to give Arian away.
"Well if that's so I can imagine that Kori's reaction wasn't a pleasant one... Of what part of his personality I know of." she stated, reffering to Arians multiple 'meanie' comments on his uncle.
"Sort of..." she said, replying to Arian's question. She looked around. Just how far away was her home from here? She never really paid any attention to it. kaze1981 Kaze smiled ruefully "Ah Kori is well Kori" she said. "We've kind of known each other for a while and he was nice enough to give me a place to stay when I needed one, but he's not really a people person - he never has been... But he really isn't all that bad."Arian looked interested as Kaze told Tayne about Kori until he realised that she wasn't going to say anything else, even though he'd been trying to find out how Mummy knew someone as mean as Uncle Kori - especially since she wasn't mean like he was. Besides she was wrong about him not being bad - why else was he so mean.
Tilting his head slightly as Tayne answered his question he said impulsively "Well maybe you can come and visit us sometime - Mummy and me are really close to here and you could have more of Mummy's cookies." He looked hopefully at Tayne. "That is if you want to." Mizu_Taji "I would enjoy that, that is, if your Mummy and Uncle Kori don't mind" she said happily.
People weren't so bad. Maybe she should try talking to people more often.
But she didn't expect a miricle. kaze1981 Kaze blinked at Arian startled - that had been a bit sudden, especially as Arian knew that Kori wasn't exactly fond of people - which is probably why they never seemed to get any mail.. Well that or Mitsukune had terrorised the postmen. In response to Tayne's answer she said "Well, I personally don't have a problem with it but I'll have to talk to Kori about it. He probably won't care as long as you come when he's not around though." She smiled appologetically "He really isn't a people person. I'll give you our address anyway - just in case."Arian looked crestfallen as he heard Kaze's answer - he'd forgotten about Uncle Kori - he was mean enough though that he'd probably say no just to be mean. Sometimes he wished it was just him and Mummy because things would be easier - no mean, no fun Uncle Kori.
"If Uncle Kori says no, we can always meet in the park" Arian said, less happily than before as he was sure Uncle Kori was going to say no. "I hope you can come though since I could show you my tree then - it's really pretty." Mizu_Taji "I had a feeling you would say that" she said with a small smile. "I wouldn't want to make Kori angry with a surprise visit. It's all right though, no harm, no foul." She looked over to Arian again.
"A tree? What makes it different then the ones here?" she asked kindly, trying to make convorsation. kaze1981 Arian perked up a little at the mention of his tree "It's about this small" he used his hands to show Tayne. "But it's a real tree and it floats! And it has little butterflies too - it's really pretty. It's called a Star Vine."Kaze nodded "Though I doubt he'd be angry per se, he rarely gets really angry. No it's more that he can be rude and I rather he wasn't rude to you." She smiled ruefully and then fished a cookie out of her bag of cookies and offered half of the cookie to Arian before offering Tayne the bag again. "Would you like another cookie?" Mizu_Taji Tayne smiled and reached into the bag again, nimbly fishing out another cookie.
"Of course. One can never have just one cookie." She then peer back at Arian. The boy had a vivid imagination. First people coming out of lanterns, now a floating tree.
But of course it didn't explain how Kaze's ears receded to a point.
Tayne shrugged off the inconsistencies. There must be a logical explaination for that. There is always one.
She was just enjoying her cookie to much to want to figure. kaze1981 Arian nodded gleefully "True," he gave the bag a wistful look. "I just wish Mummy would let me have more of them, but she says too many are bad for you."Kaze laughed, "Too much of anything is bad for you Arian." The half sprite said as she took the chance to fish out some paper and a pen before scribbling down an address in messy but legible handwriting before handing the paper to Tayne. "Here's our address, Kori's apartment is the last one on the top landing of the block." She smiled ruefully. "But don't bother trying to send us any mail - for some reason we don't get any mail since the mail men won't deliver to us." Mizu_Taji Tayne took the paper gingerly and looked at the handwriting. She thought it looked nice.
"Yes, you are right Kaze. One can always have too much of a good thing...or a bad thing for that matter..." she stuck out her tongue, finding that her own words tasted funny.
She lifted her feet in habit, forgetting that she was still on a swing. The swing moved slightly, shocking Tayne enough to send her falling backwards onto the ground, her lantern landing gently on her stomache. kaze1981 Kaze looked startled as Tayne fell from the swing, the half sprite holding out a hand to help the other up. "Are you ok?" Concern glimmered in her eyes.Arian blinked confused at Tayne's words "What do you.." he forgot the question he was about to ask as the girl fell from the swing. "Are you all right Tayne?" His voice was anxious "You're not hurt are you?" Mizu_Taji Tayne stared up at the sky, only half aware of what had just happened.
Then the sky darkened... as Kaze blocked her view of the sun. The question snapped Tayne out of whatever she was in, and she regained memory of what happened.
Pain came next.
"I'm fine... I think..." she said as she took Kaze's hand. "Just a bump on the head..."
