Serenade didn't count the days anymore.

She hadn't exactly locked herself up again like she did the last time when the Opal Crystal was stolen and refused to talk to anyone. She would answer questions when asked, albeit short and quietly, and would still make her way to the piano room to resume her practice. She only played melancholy tunes however, and said solemnly that she wasn't in the mood to play anything cheery because it would just come out sounding all wrong.

But ever since Elke's death, she lost track of what day it was, and how many days it had been since her roommate had passed. She could hold those movers back no longer, and one day when she returned from her practice, Elke's things were gone, and the side of her room seemed more hollow than before.

They didn't get the bear however, which Serenade had hid in her closet.

After that, Serenade would take out the bear and christened it Elke in honor of her best friend and talked to it. The bear was tucked in every night in the bed besides hers and Serenade, with her hair pulled back into a ponytail, which was unusual for her, would speak to Elke the bear.

"My parents came home after the quarantine had lifted." She said that night, gazing out of the window at the stars. "Since their tour was now over anyway, and they were worried. They heard about you, you know. They wanted me to go back and live at home until this was all over." The girl stopped and sighed, propping her chin up on her hands, elbow resting on the windowsill. "They thought that if I stayed in the room we shared, it wouldn't be so painful to me. Everyone thinks it's painful to remember."

"But it's more painful to remember that you forgot." She continued. "Remember Barren Pines? I was devastated when I remembered Ally. I forgot Ally. I forgot everyone. I barely recognized any of you in there. It took me so long to remember everything."

"Aunt Serenity told me to be happy." Serenade murmured, reaching into her pocket and pulling out her henshin compact, where it had always rested and hadn't been used since Elke's death, since Hero's reprimand. "I just don't know how to be anymore." At this, her eyes raised up from the compact, cerise orbs fixing themselves on the moon.

He'd made sure to pick small pebbles, nothing to break glass or made overly loud sounds.
Dink!
Thank goodness he could remain hidden, even while in white.
Dink! Dink!
"Princess?" He had once come to the window before. To go with Elke out patrolling, even if it usually ended up just being the two of them bonding and having general fun. "Princess?" With a sigh, he got up close. "Princess?" When no reply came, he made his way up the tree. "Chronos...You there?" Elke had always spoken so highly of her princess. It had been a long time since he'd met her, the sweet thing. Innocent and kind, just like Elke. He had been feeling more then awful from the news of her death, he could hardly picture her princess, her roomie, was in much better shape.

"I wanted to see how you were doing." Lame. "I want to see if you'd be interested in going on a patrol with me?" Elke had loved her princess, and in an odd way, Castor felt that if he ignored the zodiac princess it would be like a smack in the face to Elke's memory. Besides, he was an eternal now. Stronger. He could protect her if things got bad. In his own way, Castor felt he could at least do that much for Elke's memory. If just that much.

The sudden sound jolted her out of her thoughts and Serenade gazed downwards to where the pebbles came from that clinked against her window, eyes widening as she noticed the figure on the tree and noted the familiar voice of Castor's. It seemed as though his outfit was different from when she last met him, although she did not think much of it then; just lifted up the window and looked down at the senshi she had met with Elke in silence.

"Give me a moment." She said finally, and retreated from the window, lifting up her compact once again before taking a deep breath to utter her henshin phrase.

One 'Chronos Princess Power, Make Up' later, the Princess, now in in her sailor suit form, emerged from the window, grim and ready to battle once again. At least now she was patrolling with someone else, and that would not result in getting Hero worried once again.

All that she could honestly think of was that she would fight. The Negaverse, who had brought her so much pain, and to her belief, was ultimately why she was hurting all over again, would suffer. It was easier to blame something. It was easier to blame the organization, who had the man at the helm Chronos so loathed. There would be no more hesitation, because Princess Chronos was more ready to do battle than ever before.

She was on one of the branches, and teetered on her heels before choosing to sit down, gazing up at Castor. "How have you been?"

For a while he wasn't sure what to do. He just stood there, silent, shuffling his feet. But after a a few seconds, he did the one thing he could think of.
He scooted his way over and gave the small princess a hug from the side. "How we all have been. Frayed. But...I got a girlfriend. So something to look forward to." Audrey seemed far away. Safely tucked away in silent comatose suburbia. "But um, yeah." He climbed down, offering his hand to help her. "Was wondering how you were doing. Thought we might go patrolling or something. Grab icecream after." He was walking towards the wall. "Figured we can head off to the edges of downtown. Less cops, more shadows."

Castor smiled. "Shall you let me have the honor of being your lunar escort miss Zodiac Princess? My offer to be your knight in shining armor still stands." His smile was a tad brighter. "Even if my armor now comes with buttwings and isn't really as hardcore as I had hoped." He should have asked for like, a cape. Capes made everything hardcore.

It was indeed something to look forward to. While Chronos had resigned her love life to the status of 'Waiting for Eon Forever', she was gratified to see people around her be happy in their love lives. It would be extremely selfish of her not to want a happy ending for them, and Chronos was glad that she did not feel that way. "I'm still alive." She replied, taking his hand and hopping down from the tree. For now. She added silently in her thoughts. But not before she dealt blows to the Negaverse.

"I would be honored." She told him, her hand resting on his arm. Elke had always liked working with the Moon Senshi and had mentioned Castor as one of her Lunar friends every now and then. "The wings signifies your power." At least, that was what she had surmised. "It's more of a symbol, really, since it doesn't grant flight." She couldn't fly in her Princess form either; she had tried out of curiosity back then, way before Barren Pines, and had not succeeded, instead collapsing on the floor and giggling.

It was funny to look back on the days when she could smile so easily and more often. It was as though that part of her was something distant.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 29, 2010 11:06 pm

"I admit, when they kind of told me I couldn't fly I was bummed. I mean, really? There are wings on my a-" He stopped himself. God she was so sad. He just couldn't curse around her while she was sad. It might make her feel even worse. "butt. Butt wings. The least they can do is let me glide like I'm the goddamn batman." Oops. He flinched at his own mistake. Even if he did want to be the goddamn batman sort of. Batman got a pimping car after all. And a cape. Damn capes.

Getting down town proved easy. The end of the quarantine was good news. But, people were still sparse. The world seemed dead at night. Dead, or asleep. "Don't worry Chronos, I'm a pro." He said as he tripped over part of the sidewalk. "We'll take out anyone who find. I'll sock em and you can bop em."

"It would certainly be nice to fly." Chronos remarked. Maybe gliding in the air would help her take her mind off things. Birds and butterflies always seemed so happy, being able to spread their wings and fly from here to there, without really having to care about the state of the city. It was strange though, to suddenly remember that Wiseman could fly and had taken her with him up in the air. It was more terrifying than relaxing, really.

"I have faith in you." She told him, a hint of a smile on her face when he tripped. "You have put in a lot of effort to get this far. Astraea must be proud of you, even if she doesn't say so."

A sense of loss was not one sided in regards to fractions. The Negaverse had been suffering from lost teammates, not only to the coma-state that took hold of the city, but the retaliation of what it had brought. With friends, family, and teammates sleeping, everyone knew someone who was affected, which only boiled their blood even stronger than before. Beryl’s last meeting had ignited their rage with understanding just how horrid the Moon Kingdom was and what was at stake if they should fail in their duties. Gifted with youma and orders to kill now more than ever, they set off to defend their planet from the Moon Kingdom.

Since teams were broken now from the coma, either from a few recently reported deaths by senshi hands or because members were currently in the hospital dozing, different groups were cropping up. Since Team Enterprise was low in awake members, Wolframite had met someone during a meeting and set up a time to go patrolling. While youma were great, there was greater success in a duo patrol, and he was glad to have Lieutenant Akhtenskite. He seemed like an interesting guy with lots of ideas about how to improve the world, many of which Wolfram found himself agreeing with. Just because they were against senshi didn’t mean there were a lot of people and stuff on each that could deal with fixing too.

Meeting up, they started to patrol, and headed downtown. With guards and cops all over the place, they moved to the less patrolled areas, and started their way towards Crystal. Wolfram knew the way since his mother worked at the all-girls private school, and he licked his dry lips at the thought of his family at the hospital. He wasn’t short of reasons to want all senshi buried 3 feet under.

"Let's head up this way. I don't think they patrol around the schools as much anymore." The downtown, the area where the coma hit, was a bigger concern for officers now.

Akhtenskite’s intellect had been his greatest weapon before. And his temperament, his weakness. Not too long ago, he still prided himself on his average scouting skill, surveying patrolling senshi who could sometimes spend hours without doing anything – don’t these idiots have anything better to do instead of wandering aimlessly? Why the hell don't they do anything about the criminal gangs that were still present? – and attacking the weakest-looking ones, who always managed to kick his a** in benign ways.
Today was different. His girlfriend was in a coma, and he didn’t want to keep watch over the enemy. He’d done enough watching. It was time to beat the s**t out of them.
Wolframite was a pretty cool lieutenant in his opinion: he had experience, and basically agreed on the fact that the senshi who could heal should work at the goddamned hospital instead of humiliating him. The sight of the ribbons made Akh concerned about Wolf’s sexuality, sure, but that was not a big issue.

Akh looked in direction of the schools. “Crystal? Yeah, good idea” he replied calmly. He followed the green Negaverser, obviously in a ranting mood (which was his default mode). “I wonder how many senshi are studying at Crystal. How many of them are snobby bitches by day, you think? They gave hell to my sister for not fitting in, y’know. Well, so much for fitting in by night, with their skimpy stuff.”
The sound of his steps were accompanied by the clinking chain of the rapper collar he swung around lazily. What he’d never said out loud was that the Negaverse really ought to have a syndicate and ask Charonite to get decent weapons. He was still working out the kinks of killing people without strangling them with bling.
He was afraid this was all Charonite's brilliant idea, or Beryl's.

Onward it was, and they continued at their pace, Akh continuing to share his opinions with Wolfram giving small responses before Akh started up again. It at least passed the time that would over wise be spent in silence, not helped by the fact he spoke very little. “I think there are probably senshi in every school. If there are Negas in Meadowview, there are bound to be senshi there and everywhere else, too.” To think of how many times he waved at a member of his fraction and almost blurted out their Negaverse title made him feel like such a rookie. It was just hard meeting someone in their uniform and not really catching their name as a civilian. By some dumb luck, he had managed not to reveal anyone’s identity and now remembered to think before he said anyone’s name, just to be sure. “I doubt you sister is missing out on anything, either.”

The sound of a muffled conversation caught his attention, making his stop and hold out his hand. As he was short, it stopped Akh somewhere against his stomach than his chest. “Hey..” He whispered.” …do you hear that?” Staining his ears, it sounded like someone was talking farther off. At this time of night, it was either foolish kids or senshi. Either way, it meant starseeds. With many more youma being created, starseeds were still a large duty for them. “…I think it’s coming from this way.” He said, pointing down the block. He waved for Akh to follow, hoping he was right and not going farther away. He also hoped that Akh, as much as he loved to talk, would keep quiet until they were sure. Surprise attacks were better for their side anyways. Akhtenskite wasn't the only one with a rather useless weapon.

Akh couldn’t help but roll his eyes. “I thought as much, and I still wonder which ones of my friends are secretly senshi. Maybe all of them. Wouldn’t surprise me. I’m just so lucky.”
The taller boy enjoyed having an audience. It was not unlike him to regularly “kidnap” a fellow Nega and explain thoroughly his ideas on the matter, and how the senshi that shoots orange juice could help the starved, and when his cousin lost his job because of some sailor senshi – this particular tale seemed more and more embellished every time he narrated it – without caring in the slightest if his colleagues were even remotely interested. The only thing he wanted was an ear.

He let out a soft laugh. “She’s 21 now, at least she is done with the hardships of high school! Plus, I found one of her old bully.”
There was a meaningful pause, and a contemplative grin.
“Isn’t that wonderful? Her starseed...”

Wolframite’s whisper stopped him right in his tracks. He caught the revolving chain with his other hand, stopping the noise, and hurried to check with his teammate the disturbance. Next to Wolfram, he crouched and listened. “It’s all the way there… sounds like there’s more than one” he commented.
If they were of the opposite faction, the both of them could bring back some pretty nice starseeds which, there was no doubt about it, could make some powerful youmas.
There was another part of his mind however that wished very hard these were just schoolgirls, as the raising apprehension started to overshadow his motivation, and he didn’t believe in his personal luck.
“… what do we do now?”
PostPosted: Wed Jun 30, 2010 11:02 am

As much as he had standards about whose starseed he went after, a bully was someone he knew wasn’t someone he sympathized with. Years of being under several bullies’ heels made him care less if they lived or died as he always sided with the victim. When the taller boy grinned, he only offered a softer, knowing smile in return. It was a silent congrats at the accomplishment of getting back at such a person. Be was actually hoping that he could stumble upon some of his old bullies and get back at them. For now, he was dealing with whoever he stumbled upon.

Looking around, he looked for an advantage, and pointed to the roofs above. “We go up and check out who it is. I do not want to jump a cop right about now.” He leapt up to the nearest building and that he followed the direction of the voices. After two more hops across roofs, he neared the voices. Akhtenskite had been right in that there were more than one, as Wolfram peered over the edge to the two figures below. While he hadn’t met too many male senshi, there was no mistaking the outfit. Bright whites and the design was similar, though – what in the world was that on his back?! He couldn’t make it out from this high.

Turning, he looked to see Ahk and pointed down below. “Seems today is our lucky day.” He looked down at the pair below. “I’ve never met them before. How about a surprise attack? They seem pretty relaxed. ” It also gave them a chance to get one good shot in before the two could do whatever insane, magic attack that they possibly processed. Just looking at them got him steamed. How could senshi walk about in THEIR city acting as if they owned the place after the mess they just made of it? If this is what they did to DC, one could only imagine how they would ruin the entire planet.

“I’ll take the girl. You take the guy. Kay?” It wasn’t preference as much as it was just size different. The girl looked shorter which resulted in being a better match for him.

Improved strength and supernatural agility were the most amazing thing about being a Negaverser; nonetheless, it was still difficult for Akhtenskite to wrap his head around all the possibilities he received upon corruption. A few seconds were needed for him to remember that yes, he could join his colleague on the roof in minimal time, and so he did.
As he looked at the two humanoid shapes below, the boy raised an eyebrow. Both silhouettes were special in their own ways; the female one seemed to possess intricate details he couldn’t quite distinguish, and the male one featured a suspicious shape on his butt.
Then, he scratched his head.
“Yeah. Yeah. Let’s get our job done quickly. Whatever this guy has on his butt, I don’t want to look at it for too long. It’s so much worse than bows.”
Akh’s confused face turned towards Wolframite’s. “No offense, Wolfram, but if I were you, when I get promoted, I’d ask for something else.”

Where was he again? Oh, right. Stupid sailor senshi and their confusing uniforms. His grip tightened on his golden collar. “’kay. Seriously, who do you think they are, strolling around like that? Whatever that guy does, he’s gonna be sorry for… for not doing whatever he should be doing tonight!”
Even if he turned out to have super-lame powers, he could at least punish him for not being a firefighter. That was his default response.
“Let’s go!” he said, right before jumping down in Castor’s direction. He intended to whack him with the collar wrapped around his fist before he had the time to react… but Akhtenskite lacked proper fighting experience.
PostPosted: Wed Jun 30, 2010 6:26 pm

So there were times that Akh needed to keep his mouth shut. Trying to surprise two senshi was one, and talking about his uniform was another. As far as he knew, he had just about as much say about his captain’s outfit as he had with his lieutenant’s, but if there was a form where he could make requests about any future design, he was sure to fill it out. For now, he only gave the other lieutenant’s confused gaze a very serious one that said for him to shut up and shut up fast. They might have been the same rank, but he did not need to hear any jabs about his clothes from someone waving around ‘bling’.

Without further adieu, Akhtenskite leaped over the roof. There really was no other game plan other than attacking and hoping that the surprise would work in their favor. With so many senshi having so many attacks, planning out anything was pointless. It didn’t help, however, if Akh shouted too loudly. Hoping their surprise wasn’t spoiled, he kicked off the roof after his own target.

The senshi was a slender girl in a flowery dress. Cute but all senshi looked cute until they threw fireballs at you. Weapon in hand, he threw the wooden end of the rope in hopes of sending it cracking on the girl’s skull. Akh wasn’t the only one who liked a quick fight.

Had the negaverse agent not been so talkative, he might have landed a strike on the Eternal scout, but alas, the chatter gave Castor enough time to duck out of the way. The 'Bling' didn't help either.

"WOAH." It was one of those moves that was just made on part skill, but mostly pure luck, twisting his body just enough so the bling missed. However, it certainly acted as a wake up call. "Well s**t." It took him a second to get his footing, but once it was found, Castor was in front of Chronos. She was a princess, so in his mind, she obviously shouldn't be fighting, (this showed Castor's lack of zodiac knowledge). He was also a few seconds too short to see an attack already being launched her way. "Princess, you okay?" He was focused on the negaverse agent in front of him. Judging by the weapon- "Oh come on. A lieutenant? Really kid, you should just give up while you're ahead." Castor's cocky attitude had never helped him in the past.

Doubtful that it would help now.
