The library? How fun! Well, it might have been if it wasn't a beautiful day outside, and wasn't a day Michael would have much prefered to be playing out in the woods to looking for books. Luna had told Michael about the adventures he could take when he read books, not that he believed her, exactly. His mother had always described them so vividly, like she actually was in another world when she read them.
Michael wasn't like that. Sure, he had an imagination; but not so much that reading was an escape. He liked creating his own worlds through his games. "Maybe you'll meet someone, Michael," Luna said, trying to soften the blow she knew she'd given her son, telling him he'd have to be inside for an hour or so. "Maybe you'll make a friend. Sometimes friends are made in the most unlikely of places."
"Why do they even allow me in?" Michael asked, studying a shelf of books doubtfully. "I might burn something down."

Lisette stuck close to Tish as the brunette led her inside the library. The little herald fluttered her wings and looked around curiously, her bright blue-violet eyes staring around at the rows upon rows of books - more even than they had at home! She wasn't used to having one-on-one time with her Mama; not with three sisters and two brothers to take the attention away from the quiet, unassuming child. But today it was just Lissy and Tish - she was taking her to the library, while Luvvie, Miri and Faiya visited miss Jadyn and Xelly spent time with Daddy.
"Mama? Why so many?" She asked, tugging softly on the brunette's pantsleg and pointing around at all the books. She didn't hear her mother's response, however, because her gaze had landed on a boy who looked to be somewhat older than her.
A boy who had wings.
For the first time in this life, Lisette took the step of the bold and inquisitive, and went a bit away from her mother to watch the boy. She didn't say anything at first, just watched him and his pretty wax wings. At last, she smiled and said a soft,
"Hi."

Michael took a step backwards before realizing he was being spoken to. A smile crossed his features, and green eyes sparkled with the tell tale signs of joy. "Hi," he said, studying her. A tiny girl with fragile looking wings? She didn't look like she'd be much fun. She seemed too fragile to play the kind of games he liked. He certainly didn't want to break her. "I'm Michael, what's your name?" he asked, giving her another smile.
Luna looked over to Michael, and nodded in approval. "Already found someone to talk to, hm?" she teased. "I thought no one would be in the library, Mickey." She caught sight of another woman, and decided to make her way towards her. It was always best to be friendly, right?

Lissy tilted her head at the older boy, before smiling and stepping a bit closer, looking up at him and instantly realizing how big he was compared to her. "I'm Lisette," she said simply, not saying anything more. She simply wanted to watch this boy like she did her siblings - would he act like her brother in any way? Or maybe he would act like one of her sisters, though that seemed kind of silly. Either way, it was worth watching him to find out!
Tish saw the other adult coming over and raised her hand a little in greeting, though she was more focused on keeping an eye on Lissy - she worried about her little angel, maybe because she acted so different from the other girls. So seeing her actually take the first step to interact with someone was an entirely new thing, and Tish didn't want that ruined by having it be a bad encounter - hence, she'd be keeping an eye on the situation, just for safety's sake.

"Lisette?" Michael repeated, the name feeling strange on his tongue. "Pretty name." He thought about saying more, but the younger herald had gone silent and that always made him uncomfortable. "Do you have a nickname?" he asked. "My mom calls me Mickey, you can call me that if you want. Sometimes she calls me Michelangelo," he made a face, clearly he didn't think much of that nickname. "Because I like art and stuff."
Luna waved back, and gave Tish a warm smile as she made it to the woman's side. "Is she your daughter? I'm guessing you found her as an angel, from the looks of her." Luna was getting used to this. She had met several heralds by now, and even more people who'd found dying angels nearby where they lived. "Michael's sweet," she added fondly. "Social like a flame. Bit grumpy today," she added as an after thought. "He doesn't like being kept inside. What's your girl like? I haven't met a girl herald this young before."

Lissy nodded, smiling again and taking the older boy's hand. "Mama calls me Lissy," she said simply, looking around curiously. "There are many books here," the blonde added before falling silent again. She liked to be still and watch, she learned so much just from watching; why would anyone want to waste their time talking when they didn't really learn anything from it?
Tish nodded and gestured at Michael a bit. "Same thing for you, then?" she asked curiously, watching the two little ones interact fondly. "Lissy's almost nothing like how you describe your Michael," she said softly, reaching up and running a hand through her hair, seeking out and taming a tangle that had been bothering her. "She's as sweet as can be, but she doesn't talk much. She's not really antisocial or anything, she just. . . likes to watch people; I don't quite understand why, it's just something she enjoys."

"I'll call you Lissy, then." For a moment, Michael had forgotten that he was trapped inside. For a moment, he'd forgotten where he was. Until Lissy mentiond the books, that was. "Maybe we'll find a good one?" he suggested with a shrug. He had never met someone so quiet! Even Raeburn had talked more. Michael was used to rambling teenagers and excited toddlers. Why was this one so quiet?
Luna nodded. "Yes," she said. "The very same." She glanced over at the children, concerned. "I do hope they get along," she muttered. "Maybe it has to do with your sacrifice, or maybe the messege she was sent to give," the woman said. "I think Michael's comes from his sacrifice, mostly. A candle, you know."

Lissy nodded and smiled, reaching over to take Michael's hand in her own small one. "Maybe you could help me find one?" She asked timidly, a smile appearing on her face as she watched the older boy. "I like your wings," she added, feeling that this boy was uncomfortable with her being so quiet and wanting to make him feel better; at least by a little bit.
Tish smiled, watching the children. "I hope they do too," she said quietly to the other parent. "Lissy needs some friends outside of her sisters and brother." Tilting her head a bit, she thought back to the night she had first found Lissy. "Well, I'm not sure if it's tied to the object or not... it was a porcelain box, so maybe that's why she's quiet. I really don't know."

"I'd like to," Michael said with a smile. He liked helping others, even if he was stuck inside for the time being. "What kind of book are you looking for?" he asked. He paused, and looked rather awkward for a moment. He'd never been complimented by a girl before, other than his mom. "I like your wings too," he said at last.
"They look like they do already," Luna mused, giving the other woman a smile. "Porcelain box, hm? Now I worry that she'll be delicate--that might be why she's soft spoken."
