As always, Syri traveled alone through the Kawanii lands. His feelings about his life, the world around him, and his own thoughts had begun to change over the past years. He didn't understand why he now longed to take longer walks in the afternoon sun, or breathe in more of the morning air.. It was all so different. As a young adult, he had been in such a hurry. He didn't want to live the kirin life, he didn't want the tranquility and solitude of the kirin ways. He had wanted freedom to run and roam.. But now... He wished to return. What was going on? Slow and steady he walked, going no where particular. There was no set destination... there never was.

Somewhere down the sunset was a stream. The red feathers were glistening in the water as the female stepped out of the water. Shrugging lightly as she turned, her nostrils flaring slightly at the scent of a new comer. "Eh? Who the hell is this?" she muttered, a bit of a smart mouth, though that won't matter much.

Syri could pick up the scent of water near by, he smacked his lips, a drink would be good. He followed his nose to find the source. Just as he was coming out from the tree line he made out a figure on the opposite side of the stream. A peculiar looking sort...It looked soquili, but with feathers instead of a coat. He had never heard tales of such. He paused and studied the creature for a moment.

She turned to the male, raising an eyebrow at him. "So what's with you?" she asked him, approaching him with a bit of a hard trot. Circling him lightly, wondering what on earth was a Kiri doing here. "What happened to Nirvana boy? Thought your kin loved doing this kind of stuff."

He tilted his head as the soquili approached him, it was a female and definitely soquili. "This kind of stuff?" he inquired of her, not exactly sure what she was referring to. "I was coming for water..." he sounded slightly confused.

"Isn't it your type to go around seeking the answers of the universe?" she asked him. Her head tilting lightly and left him to take a drink for now. "I rarely see your kin out of their side of the lands meditating or something like that."

She was blunt and up front at least, he lowered his head to get a drink of water before he answered her question. "We aren't all... We're not all the same," he replied. It was these stereotypes that had lead him down his path, he didn't want to be put into the group with all other Kirins.
"Just like you, I am different." he stood tall and proud.

"I see." she replied with a chuckle. Smiling gently and inspecting him, admiring his looks. "You're quite a charmer...What happened to you and your tribe?"

He didn't mean to be a charmer, perhaps it was just how he had spoken? He took it as a compliment none the less.
"I travel alone..." he spoke in a distant voice and paused for a moment. "You could say that we didn't see things the same," he thought of the look on his parent's faces when he informed them that he was leaving the grove.

She giggled at him, though seeing his now serious face, she wondered if he had anything on his head. "Something wrong?" she asked him. "Got a bit of grass going out the wrong way?"

"No, no. It's nothing you've said, nor the grass," he laughed softly at her humor. "Was just thinking of my parents...."
He turned his attention to the female, "I don't mean to be rude, but what are you...exactly?" his head tilted.

"I'm one like you...well, more or less the same species with wings... or are you too sheltered to know what wings are." she replied, raising an eyebrow at him, wondering if he's just either dumb, ignorant or what.

He tilted his head and bit his tongue, She was a rather brash creature indeed. "I am a kirin...there are groundeds, winds, flutters, kalona, skinwalker, angeni, kelpie, mer, cerynei, and usdia...." he paused after naming all of the species he knew of. "Now, where do you fit?"
He was trying not to be rude, but should she continue to be so harsh he would just bid her farewell and continue on his journey.
"I assume you are an over feathered wind, then?"

"Yes...You got that right." she replied, trotting around him. "Oh forgive me. I'm Raven."

"Merry met, Raven," he nodded his head slightly in the proper greeting. "I can not say I've seen one such as yourself. Are you originally from these lands?" he was in a new place, curious if others like her were abundant here.
