Maion
Maion wandered from his family who were now safe in Sengdromas fathers land. He needed to get her alone, needed to ask her the question that he had longed to ask since the moment he had left her to train with Sofiel. Yet something seemed wrong, empty... missing. He wanted so much more for her, something that belonged to her alone. Something only he could do for her. In her fathers herds he was nothing of interest -not even a true member- yet he wanted more. So much more.

Yet how dare he ask for more from life? He had three beautiful children and hopefully one day soon he woud ask for sengdroma to become his life mate officially. He would die without her.

Frustrated he cursed a little under his breath and looked up to the sky. He wanted to protect Sengdroma, Chandra, Mal, Io.... yet he didn't know how.

Lovey Dovey
Lovey Dovey was standing at the top a hill looking out over the land that wasn't part of her herd. She was unused to being away from her family and frankly she wouldn't leave now even if she could. They were her lifeblood, coming and going. At times it seemed as if her own life had been given away to make sure her family had a home and she wouldn't change that for anything. Flossi and Draezan lived at home all the time, but the rest came and went as they felt like. Her grandson was a wily thing that never came home enough, but with fire for a mane and a tail and a hot temper he had to stay away.

Lord, I'm becoming a fussy old woman... Unable to do much anything besides sit and think of my family. Perhaps I'll go find some little ones to play with or enjoy.

As Lovey was about to turn to head away, she realized that there was a rather huge black-silver form coming her way. Ears pricked forward, Lovey chuckled and began making her way towards him.

Maion
Maion was shifted immediatly from his thoughts as his ears flickered quickly at the sound of laughter. His eyes flickered to a bright purple figure in the distance that was slowly making their way towards him. Standing tall, a quick swish of his long tail as it bounced behind him. He spoke with a strong vioce, he knew from experience that many others did not like it when others ventured into their land. Even when it was done by accident. "I hope my presence does not offend you."

It was only as he spoke that he tasted the familar tange of salt and realised that he had been crying -several tear tracks ran down his face. He was not ashamed of them though, instead he would wear like with honor. It was not a bad thing to have emotions, or weaknesses.... and his was Sengdroma and his family.

Lovey Dovey
Lovey looked up at the tall stallion with a critical eye, seeing the tears then clucking at him a bit. "You offend no way, young'un, but you need to follow old Lovey now like a good boy." Turning and making her way back up the hill that she had just come from. Here lately she had started to put back on the weight that had dropped away horribly from the breaking of her lifemating.

She had no idea of how old the stallion behind her was, but he didn't have the lines around his eyes like so many as old as she... She meant no disrespect as youth was truly a thing of beauty sometimes

Maion
Maion made no comment to her observation or wording. He would not exactly class himself as a 'young'un' especially now that he had three children under his care, two of which would one day need him to teach them to fly, they needed him to be strong for them. To show them his love for them every day and to give them nothing to worry about. He would provide for them -that much was certain. All he said to the mare that had greeted him was "Yes ma'am" she evidently older than him and with more experience. Perhaps she would know the answer to his question?

Of all the things Maion believed that the fates did everything for a reason and he was sure there was a reason to this also. Pulling his wings tightly to his side he tried not to make himself more impossing that needed, he was no threat here -depite his much larger size. Perhaps being brought up by his mother in the way of the Angeni had always led him to try and make those around him comfortable, even when he was uncomfortable or emotional himself. He rarely cried around anyone. "I hope I am not disturbing you."

Lovey Dovey
Glanding back at the stallion with a little bit of a smile around the corner of her mouth, she came to a stop on the outskirts of the center of their land. "Now look there, see 4 large teepees and then two small ones. Our two-leg lives in the small one.. I have the other small one.. the four large are rarely all occupied at once, but our members are free to come and go as they please. It's the beauty of family... we may be far away at times but we always come home. Isn't that lovely?"

No male worth his salt cried for stupid reasons, in her mind love and family were two things that were worth crying over. She propped up her hoof and settled in, wise bright green eyes looked to the stallion, "I am Lovey Dovey, Lovey will do just fine.. Now why don't you tell me your story."

Maion
Maion looked at the scene before him, he had never met a soquili that lived with two-leggers before, or that lived in teepees for that matter. Yet here it was before him. Peace. Tranquility. He envied it. Yet he spoke not of that thought when he replies. "It is lovely indeed." he was truely in awe at what he saw.

He couldn't help but chuckle when she spoke, it seemed that despite the air she gave off a being carefree she had indeed noticed that something had prompted his journey, that something was wrong. He was impressed. Perhaps there was wisdom outside of the Angeni after all. He had always believed it to be as much despite his mothers words. He relished the thought.

"My story..." he began, turning his attention from her land and to the mare beside him. "before I tell it I will give you my name. I am Maion the guardian of the Ocean." He took a deep breath and looked away from her once more. "...there is not much to tell."

He paused to collect his thoughts, he didn't know this mare yet he felt there was something about her that made him want to trust her. "I am just a fool in love."

Lovey Dovey
Lovey really had not spent a whole lot of time way away from her family and she didn’t really care that she had not seen how others lived. Aely was a wonderful two-legged girl, she saw to their grooming and in return they all adored the girl, some of the soquili even allowed for her to be taken around on rides randomly.

So he had problems with love and in his mind that meant that there was not a lot for him to tell. She grinned at his refrence to being a fool and shook her head slowly. “No, only someone that does not ever have love in their life be it romantic or familiar is a fool. You’ve not shut your heart up Maion, Guardiant of the Ocean so you have nothing to worry about in the way of love.”

Pehaps she should not have said that he had nothing to worry about, there would always be issues to over-come or problems to defeat, but on the whole he was in pretty good shape. Giggling yet again, Lovey shifted and then waited a bit impariently to find out just what else was wrong. Besides being a fool in love she needed details here. Was he in love with a fish? Because who knew where they would live then. Oh boy…

Maion
Without being able to catch himself Maion raised an eyeborw and looked at the mare beside him with a confused look, had she seriously just said that? He wondered immediatly what she had thought on recieving his words. Sighing softly he forced himself to control his emotions and facial features as he returned his gaze to sky once more. He loved how the sky always seemed to calm him, especially when his soul felt so stormy and destroyed as it did now. "I have known love, and also the thought of losing it forever..... I was lucky however and she took me back despite what I did to her." It was not something he wished to discuss openly. He had destroyed himself night after night since Sengdroma and his children had returned to him... if only he had known she had fell pregnant after there night together. He would never have left alone. Never had abandoned her. NEVER!

Yet there was no point lingering in the past, he could not change it only bring her a brighter future. "I don't know how to ask her to be my mate.... I...." he hesitated, trying to think about what he wanted to say. He wasn't even sure what he wanted. What he meant. "I want to give her the world, the Moon and the stars themselves....."

Lovey Dovey
Lovey had no idea what went through the stallion’s mind, his eyes were unreadable and since she didn’t want to get into someone’s mind without permission she left it alone. She listened to the wind blowing slowly around them and smiled a little. It lifted her already high volume hair and made it bigger, almost silly on anyone that wasn’t her or her daughters. It was a beautiful summer day and she was enjoying the company, even if he felt a bit afflicted.

“You know Maion, in a relationship, most mares don’t need the sun, moon, stars, and everything else with all the trappings. Most are happy enough to know that they are safe and loved entirely. I think that your mate is a very lucky mare. Some never know the feeling of being cherished. It sounds as if your mare, does. May I know the lovely mare’s name? Tell me of her?”

Maion
He turned and watches as her hair was carried by the breeze, his own bounced untamed around him. It reminded him of something - he was the untamed beast and she was the delicate flower that looked as if it could wilt at any moment. Yet he knew that flowers where stronger than they often first appeared.

"Her name is Sengdroma," their was nothing but love and admiration in his tone as he spoke. He truely did love her. "Though I have to make up past wrongs to her, I can never have her doubting me," He paused a moment and scruntched up his eyes as the pain of his memoires riddled through him. "That would destroy me." The idea of losing her the first time had almost been enough to kill him, he would not survive it again. He knew that to be the truth. He wanted to dedicate his life to ensuring she was happy, to protect her with all his being despite knowing that she had the strength to look out for herself. He wanted to scream, to curse, to shout... but he remained silent.

Lovey Dovey
Lovey would have laughed herself sick if someone had told her that she was going to be considered to be wilting or weak. She focused on him when he started to speak of his soon to be mate, so long as he was as devoted as he said she had little doubt that that would come to be all in good time of course.

Sengdroma… what a lovely name. She listened to him speak again and a smile played along her lips. He really did love his mate and probably meant everything that he said about her. Chuckling a bit she repeated herself a little bit, “Show her that you love her and she will love you back. .. Especially if she already loves you.” It was possible that he had not said he loved Sengdroma yet, and or he had not said it in a good fashion. “Now then.. What do you mean you don’t know about how to go around proposing to be lifemated with your mare?” Romantic ideas were fun, she herself just preferred straight-forward honesty. It worked best for her.

Maion
He planned to show her that he loved her, there was not even an option that he didn't. But he wanted to give his strength to her directly -the only question was how. However he did also want to propose to Sengdroma in a nice way, something that would redeem him -even if it was only a little. Perhaps ideas of how would be useful, but for her to come up with anything he hadn't already thought of himself he would need to divulgue more about himself. "We have three children, it can make it difficult to be alone or to spoil her. Plus...." he paused and looked at his companion. "I want it to be something she will remember for the rest of our life."

Lovey Dovey
Three children? That sounded like it had been taken out of her own book, although she actually had four daughters. Never had the chance to raise a boy of her own, she didn’t know if she’d ever have more children… A wistful smile played along Lovey’s lips just for a moment or two as she thought of little foals and their ornery ways. “So, you want to make your proposal something to always be remembered…. Why have you not come up with any ideas at all? Are you unimaginative? Is she over-fussy? Or are you trying to make too much of a huge Hurr-ah out of all of this?” Jeez, did the poor guy think that he needed to have a marching parade and such just to woo his woman? “Simple and elegant and heartfelt are the three things that I’d recommend young man.”

Maion
Maion was shocked by her words, it did mean a lot to him but he didn't think he was making too much of a 'hurr-ah' about it as she had put it, yet perhaps that was what it seemed like to those looking in from the outside. The truth was Maion wanted to do something special for Moon (Sengdroma), he wanted to give her the happiness she deserved. "No. I just feel like there is something...." he paused, but even after thinking about it there was no better word to describe his current feeling, "...missing."

"I can ask Scythe, that is Sengdroma's father, to care for Io, Mal and Chandra....." Scythe had taken a liking to the three foals straight away, and Maion had been shocked at how at home the older stallion seemed to be with the youths. Or perhaps that was simply because they where flesh and blood... that and he already had great-grand children.

He let out a great breath and looked to the mare beside him and then ocne more to the peaceful sky. The clouds floated and danced above him without a care in teh world, how he often longed to be among them once more. He still hadn't given his wings much of a workout after his vow to give up flight until Sengdroma returned to his side once more after her training, he was so proud of her strength and determination -although in hindsight he should have done things differently and never left her alone. He knew he could not change the past. At long last he spoke once more, "I guess I just want to offer her so much more... more than me simply becoming her mate.... I want to show her I am worthy of protecting her and our children, that we don't need to stay with her father and his herd to be happy. Perhaps I want too much."

Lovey Dovey
“Your mate sounds like a caring and sweet mare… You referred to her as the Moon just now… The love between the two of you sounds well… storybook.” She stopped to think over the rest of his words and to try to figure out just what exactly the stallion was looking to do. She remembered Scythe from a long time ago, a misunderstood Soquili in his time. What had ever happened to him? Perhaps she hadn’t been out and about enough recently. Her family had been her one major concern not going about on a holiday of some sort.

“You know what it sounds like to me, it sounds like if you want to give her proof that you want to show you can take care of her and your children then perhaps it’s time for you to start your own herd with your children and mate.” She didn’t want to give him an idea that he wasn’t ready for. Having others to take care of was a big responsibility and it typically meant an end to being free and easy.

“I don’t plan to rush you into making rash decisions, a herd is a big responsibility. It’s an end of just up and running off on your own. Others become your responsibility. I travel to visit the hermits of our herd a few times a year to make sure they’re okay, but beyond that I am here. I’m proud of my herd and of my family, but it’s not the path that all should choose.” Hm… it had been so long since she had given advice to another that didn’t belong in the herd that she didn’t want to over-step with him. “Where did you meet your mate? Was that someplace special to either of you? Sometimes it’s an important place and other times it’s just a field…”

Maion
Maion hadn't realised he had spoken the name Moon out loud, but obviously he had -how else would this mare have know he called her that. There was a story behind the nickname that meant so much to him, when he first met Sengdroma she had appeared a mute, even her own family had been shocked when she final spoke -and that first word had been too him. His heart swelled at the idea she had gifted him with her first words, that sweet voice was one he would never see silenced again... but before he knew of her true name he had called her Moon, he would not disrepect her by calling her 'mare' or something of the likes. She deserved much more than that.

Maion listened patiently to the mare, and her words seemed to strike a cord with him. A herd, a herd that belonged to him and his -hopefully- future mate. Open to the wanders of the world, the weak, anyone who desires the company of others or are in need of protection. It would be open, he knew that without having to contemplate the idea too deeply, after all he liked to pride himself on helping the innocent and had saved several foals and mares from skinwalker attacked in the days of his youth long ago, when hunting the vermin of the earth had been his only real thought. Yet with meeting Moon, her fathers herd and then his children he knew things had changed in a single heartbeat. He didn't wish to explore or stray too far from them ever again, he knew they had become his life and he wanted to learn everything he could about them. But he couldn't help but play Lovey Dovey's final words through his mind again and again. Did she think he could not handle such responsibilty? Or that he would simply start something and never finish it? The very idea of abandoning those he loved made him angry -almost enough to curse in front of another, an action he managed to control though his years of mental and physical training. Deciding not to comment on those words he focused instead on a place that was special.

He knew instantly, "I met Sengdroma at night, beside a glistening lake. I had stopped for a drink and she had approached like an ethereal creature that caught my full attention. We danced under the light of the Moon and the Stars until I had to leave her grounded there to return home to the mountains." A doopy smile had covered his face, making him look innocent and child like, yet it changed as he thought of his previous home -a place he had not been since Sengdroma had returned. "I can not take her too the mountains. I used to live in a place so high only those of the Angeni can reach it."

Lovey Dovey
The memories that seemed to be dancing around in the stallions mind were probably beautiful and Lovey almost wished she could give him a penny for his thoughts and the chance to actually see what he was reliving. At least, she was assuming that he was re-living something because he had gone quiet after her question about where he had met his mate. Lovey also would have been saddened if she knew that he wanted to curse aloud at the idea of being unable to see his herd through any storm that came there there. Although, sometimes that was what was needed a touch of disrespect. Not that she particularly liked that brand of behavior, but it certainly had given Maion something to think about and something to decide for himself whether or not he would truly be able to take care of a herd all on his own.

Oh yes.. she figured she had riled him up quite nicely since he had made no comment at all on her warnings. He was a nice boy, probably more man than boy but she figured if she wanted to be an old fuddy-duddy than that was what she was going to be. Grinning as he told his story about meeting his mate, she grinned even harder at the expression on the stallion’s face. Oh yes, he had it bad. Not only did he have it bad but he was perfectly content to be besotted. Some rand screaming from the prospect, some resigned themselves as if being given chores, and then the rare set accepted the love they felt and managed to get a special glow about themselves. “Your mate, Sengdroma, I’m going to believe is not a winged mare?” It was pretty certain that she wasn’t, but assuming and then having it be otherwise wasn’t her sort of thing. Facts first and foremost. So, an angeni and a grounded, with three children living on the mare’s father’s lands.

Hmm… and a stallion with the burning drive to prove himself to the mare that he obviously loves. Well now, that didn’t seem like too big of a problem in her book. They needed to go and make their own home, probably make about six more babies or so.. and then live happily ever after.

Lovey giggled for a moment then got a serious expression back on her face, “So.. Maion, you’ve told me quite a bit about your family and your love and your situations. Not all of it, I’m sure, but enough for now. You’ve mention wanting to do something special, wanting to protect your family on your own land, and a magical place of meeting.. Now do tell me… what does that equation add up to in your head?”

Maion
Maion wasn't at all take aback by the mares question, many seemed suprised that an Angeni would fall so hard for one that was not of their own breed, but to Maion it mattered not what someone looked like on the outside but how their heart sang to the world, and Moons song was one he wanted to join in on. "No, Sengdroma is just a grounded regular mare in the eyes of most." That was a fact he did not see through his own eyes. No, to him she was worthy of his wings and strength... everything he could offer was hers.

It seemed the mare beside him enjoyed her tricks and mind games, or maybe she just wanted him to place the pieces to this puzzle she had lay out before him together. Eitehr way he hadn't stopped contemplating the idea since she had mentioned it, a herd.... a herd for his family. He laughed slightly, it was a deep throaty laugh that came straight from the heart -it would most likely make him appear even more childish in front of this elder soquili but he cared not. And before he could stop himself he said, "I suppose this is your way of making me see things as if it was my own idea." He paused and smiled softly at her before continuing, "but the pieces clearly show me that I need to just ask her to be my mate, be it in front of others or alone..." eventhough Maion knew he wanted to do it alone, he had not been alone with her in such a long time, "...and that while I am at it I should ask her to move back to the Lake with me and there start a herd for our family and all those that believe the same as we do to live." He gave her a quick wink. "Sound about right?"

Lovey Dovey
Lovey grinned at the other stallion as he spelled out to her everything that she had been thinking. This couple and their children had an almost story-tale sounding life, and why not? They should go ahead and keep on living this storytale love with each other and make it even more perfect by having their own home ontop of everything else. He had given her all the ideas just by talking to her a bit at a time, all she had had to do was to go ahead and get him to piece it all together by giving him the nitty-gritty. A few simple words and then he’s got it all on his own. She grinned harder than she could remember in a very long time and hooted with laughter again, “Well, considering that you’re grinning and laughing right along with me Maion, I’d say it’s not just right… it’s perfect.”

Lovey sincerely hoped it was perfect too because he seemed like a nice enough stallion, “And just so you know boy before you sass me again, I have no problems at all with regulars, winds, angeni, or any of the rest of the lot. My daughter, a regular like me, is mated to a wind… I’ve a flutter-boy… a bit daft that one.. that’s mated to an angeni” She harrumphed and then raised a brow at him, “Takes all types, yes?”

Maion
Maion had not meant to 'Sass' her as she had put it, in fact he had meant no disrepect at all. He lowered his head in a bow of apolgy before looking into her emerald green eyes once more- he had never before seen that shade anywhere other than on the grass at the highest light of the sun. "I have no problem with her being grounded.... nor would I if she was anything else. I apologise if that was the impression I was giving." He turned to look at the sky once more, "No, to me she is perfect. And this idea of a home together is also perfect."

He knew it was likely time he should leave her and set this plan into motion. "I have wasted enough of your time Lovey Dovey, thank you for assisting me." He gave her a gentle smile, "I will return and tell you how it all works out if you like."

Lovey Dovey
"You come back now Maion, and bring your family next time.. My old self enjoys being around youth." She winked wickedly, fully knowing that she isn't as old as she lets on simply because it's easy to get her way with a hint of fraility. "You never know how long I'll be around.. so don't take too long. Go on scamp, go to your lady."

Maion
Scamp? This mare really was a strange creature, but he would not disrepect her by commenting on her ways, after all it was not his job to judge and she had helped him collect his thoughts and figure out the thing he hadn't quiet been able to see. For that he would forever be grateful to her. "I will try to do that indeed Lovey Dovey, though I warn you they are a playful bunch." He gave her one last gentle smile, knowing full well she would care not for their nature -he knew that much from their short encounter. And then he turned and set off home, to Sengdroma... and to propose to her so that she would be officially his forever.

Miakoda... under the Moon. It was a good name, he would have to suggest it to her.
