Kai walked out of the front door of the Torres Mansion and smiled when the cool air meet his skin. He looked at the sky and his smile got brighter when he saw that the sun was covered up by lots and lots of dark cloud. The wind was blowing harder now and he could hear a distant thunder. "Today is a beautiful day." He said loudly and hoped that no one heard him. Unlike other, he doesn't like the sun that much. He love the clouds and love the storm and love it when both of them come with a strong wind. "You know what, I think I'm going to get some training done." He said to himself before walking toward the Combat Ground, right next to the Target Practice Ground that he used to go to every day. "May be later, maybe." He said as he walked pass the target practice and patted it.

Kai let out a loud squeal when he saw a small present placed on top of the table in the middle of the Hand to Hand Combat Ground. The squeal was something that he have never done before and promised to himself to never do it again. Kai knew what is in the present. Kai knew who placed the present box there and knew what she meant. He took in a deep breath and straighten his back as he looked around to see if anyone is around. After sometime of searching and when he was sure that no one was around Kai ran to the box happily and stopped when he got right in front of it. He moved his hands slowly to the opening of the box, trying his best to keep his hand calm and not shaky. He finally placed his hands on the opening of the box and was about to open it when he felt a nudge in his shoulder. He turned to look at it and smiled when he saw that it was only Karu, a small bird that he came to adopted several weeks ago. "I know." He told the little bird before turning his attention back to the box. After minutes of anticipation, Kai finally open the box and without knowing squeal loudly like a girl. Inside the box was Kurono, the pair of daggers that he sent to the trusted blacksmith that was part of his family in America. He sent the dagger to him after damaging it in a fight several months ago. "I miss you." He said happily and picked up the dagger and hugged it warmly before sitting down on the grass and stare at the dark gloomy sky. He really love today and hoped that tomorrow will be the same.

Taking out the box weapon that he named after his long dead friend, Kai put on his ring and smiled. With the return of Kurono his mood have been up lately, and the darken sky with promised of storm bought his mood up even more. Kai looked at his ring and wondered why was it that whenever he put it on he felt as though a great weight is place on his shoulder. Actually, he knew what the weight was, but he doesn't know why he felt it anyway. So far in his life, being the boss doesn't much really. His family is small, too small in fact. He remembered how the family was when his dad was still alive, and remembered the time he have. But now with his dad dead and so is most of the family, the only one left is him and some of the other, but they are all on mission of their own. Kai let out a heavy sigh before summoning the flame and placed it into the Sky Box. He watched as the Sky Box opened and Kasumi flied out. Kasumi, the large black bird that he named after his dead friend. He watched as Kasumi landed several feet away and watched him with anticipation. Finally, after minutes of staring, Kai broke eye contact and stood up. He motioned for Kasumi to come forward and take it position. Kasumi, long learned to understand her master, took off into the sky and flied around before slowly attached herself onto Kai back. After a while she finally became part of him. He petted Kasumi wings and was happy when he felt that the feathers was smooth and nice. "Quick practice then." He said to her before running toward the gate. He jumped off the ground several steps later and laughed when the wings began flapping and he began his long awaited soaring practice. He flied around the mansion a couple of time before taking toward other place, away from the mansion that he haven't left in a long time.

Kai let out a tired sigh as he landed into the garden of the Villa. He looked around to make sure no one saw him before letting Kasumi return to her usual form and go back to the box. He patted the box before standing up and look around. He wasn't sure where he was at first but when he saw the Villa and the door he knew that he is near the university. He came here time to time when he was little to read the books from the vast library. The thought of the library brought back memory that was forgotten. Kai let out another sigh as he remember the time before his father death.

"Where are you?" Young Kai asked as he ran pass the garden and into the university. He looked around for the one thing that interested him and smiled when he saw that Kasumi was walking up the stair and into the vast library. He picked up Kurono and placed her back in her sheath before running after Kasumi. "Waited up!" He yelled loudly and felt embarrass when he received 10 different hushes from the librarian and the student. He apologized before running to Kasumi. He saw her stopping in front of the fantasy section and thought of sneaking up to her from behind. With that thought in mind he ran the other way, pass the other shelf to get behind her. His smiled widen when he thought that Kasumi was too consumed by the book and jumped onto her back. Before he can stop himself Kasumi bended down, dodging him. The next thing he felt was the hard bookcase and an avalanche of book. "Oww." Was all he could say as Kasumi picked him up from under the mountain of book and giggle. At that point he hated her for dodging and cursed her. Immediately after that he felt regret when he saw tears flowing out of her eyes. He tried to apologize but she hushed him and hugged him tightly. He asked what wrong but she just told him to hush up. He did as she told and kept still as she hugged him, and that was the last time he saw her.
Kai opened his eyes to find himself back in his own time. He wiped his teary eyes and took in a deep breath and held back any other promised tears. After a while of calming himself and he was sure that he wasn't going to cry anymore, Kai walked toward the door and pushed it open and walk in. He looked around to see that no one was there and he was thankful for that. He closed his eyes and walked toward the library, letting him memory guide him.

"Hello there." Dream Kai said with a smile. He was in one of his many dream world where he isn't the boss and Kasumi was still alive. Dream Kai looked around, making sure that he was still in his dream manor and this is not a hallucination. In front of him stood the 8th Generation Cloud Guardian, and as always on his face is a warm smile but Dream Kai knew better than to trust that smile, the smile that almost every dead man see before he died. "Morning Klas, how are you today?" Kai asked politely as he bowed respectfully to the guardian, hoping that today wasn't one of his bad day. His smile got brighter when the cloud guardian smiled back at him and patted his head before walking away. Kai knew that the smile was real and not fake, because if it was fake Kai would have feel a pinch and not a soft pad to the shoulder.

Kai woke up from his dream world with tears in his eyes. He missed them, every last single one of them, even that b*****d cloud guardian. He wondered why is it that they are all dead. Why is it that not a single one of them lived to teach him about being the boss. Was it so hard just to run away and live another day? But no matter how much he want to believe it, he would have hate them all if they have lived, even if it is his dad. "Why, why?" He asked the question to himself over and over again. Tears was flowing out like river and he can't do any thing but placed his head between his arms and cried.
Kai doesn't know how long he cried nor does he remember why he stopped. Kai just stop crying when one of the librarian who is an old friend of his dad placed his hand on Kai shoulder. He stood up and said a soft thank you before placing everything back where it belong and slowly but sturdy walked out of the library. He turned his head to have one last look at the university before walking out into the garden and summoned Kasumi. As quickly as his tears have shed Kai flew away into the sky. To where he does not know, he only know that flying give him a sense of freedom, freedom from his memory if not his past.
