Hobbies:
Yoga: After being exposed to yoga during a phys. ed. workshop, and having done it since she was twelve; Gwendolyn had made yoga a part of her everyday life. She’d wake up at 6:30 in the morning every day so that she could do half an hour of yoga before school, and she reserves an hour before bed to do yoga as well. Not only does it keep her healthy and in shape, it also helps with keeping herself awake during the day, and lowers her stress levels during the night time.

Writing: Gwendolyn is quite shy. It’s unfortunate that she goes to a school that contains many snobby girls; she cannot possibly defend herself against them. So when she’s at school, she just deals with all the drama around her. But, right when she gets back to her room, she opens her notebooks and just writes out stories. She’d create characters that represent those that caused her pain in her life and puts them in very unfortunate situations. Being regrettably conceited, she writes stories in which she is the queen of the world, or some powerful being which everyone fears and envies. She understands that she should probably just deal with school drama herself, but writing is her outlet until she gains any confidence. She usually writes short stories rather than poetry, and she is quite proud of them. She rarely shows them to anyone, she's afraid they'd make connections from the characters in her stories to real life.

Dance: Gwendolyn has been dancing since the age of eight. A few days a week, she’d go to her own dance studio in the basement of her house and just dance. Putting her excess energy into something was good for her. Her favorite kind of dance would be contemporary, but she also does ballet to keep her basic skills intact. Her mother was also a dancer, and since Wendy's mom sent her to ballet and contemporary dance classes since a child, it would be a waste to throw this hobby away. Gwendolyn also really loves dance. It made her feel free and invincible. Whenever she did a barrel-jump or a triple pirouette she'd truly believe that she was away from the world she was in. She'd take classes twice a week, she's reasonably friendly with her fellow dancers. She doesn’t look like the kind of girl who would be doing dance. When she’s not in the dance studio, she doesn’t appear graceful at all, though it’s not like she’s clumsy either. After her dance she does her routine yoga practice.


Virtues:

Empathetic/Agreeable: Gwendolyn knows what it feels like to be alone. If you had just experienced something scary, or made a fool of yourself, Gwendolyn will not laugh at you. She can always tell when something’s made someone uncomfortable and cannot bring herself to laugh, it’s just cruel. If you got a bad mark on your assignment, she feels the exact pain as if she had gotten that bad mark. Though she cannot directly talk to you because of her shyness, she will try to help you feel better in one way or another. Whether it is slipping anonymous notes into your locker or helping you clean up whatever mess you’re in. As long as she doesn’t have to talk much, she’ll be willing to help. It’s not like she’s a pushover, but Wendy will not fight to have her way all the time. Unless it’s not completely against her morals she will let you have your way. She is very easy to cooperate with; she will do her part and won’t complain that she has too much work, or not enough.

Good Memory: If she ever saw you before she will remember you. If her eyes rested on your face for more than 5 seconds she will remember you and have no problem keeping a mental fine on you. Though this may seem a bit creepy, it benefits a lot. If you exit the room and forget your bag she will tell you that you have forgotten it because she will remember that you wore it coming into the room. This also comes in handy when it comes to tests and exams. It is very hard for her to forget previously acquired information.

Determined: This somewhat connects with her flaw of holding grudges. Her determination affects her in two ways: One, she will work hard towards a goal, no matter how difficult. She believes that there is truly a light at the end of the tunnel, even if it is a pinprick and she is surrounded by pure darkness.
But the other way that it affects her is that she is willing to wait before unleashing some sort of revenge. Because of her personality, she isn't one to lash out anyway, but she would rather wait for months before she would want to act rashly.

Flaws:


Holds Grudges: If you had done anything at all to hurt Wendy at all in all the time she has known you. From the time you made eye-contact and exchanged greetings up till present day, she will remember you. She keeps a mental file on everyone, and every little thing you do will build up. From the time you didn’t sit with her that one Tuesday lunch to the time when you threw the snowball at her. She will never forget those, and she will never ever help you again. Even in your deepest time of need. Yes, she is empathetic, but she refuses to help any jerks. She has zero tolerance for people who do mean things and even if they aren’t so mean when you look at them as a person, but Wendy will never forget any act of meanness. If she has a terrible grudge on someone, she acts irritated and if she were talking her voice would sound hesitant.

Shy: Not just a constant blush while talking, not just speaking in a quiet voice. Wendy will skip any school dances, meet-ups, or events just because it forces her to be too social. She’s is scared to make a fool of herself and has trouble letting go. She can say greetings like “Hi”, or “Good Morning”, with a smile. But discussing anything about her personal life is pushing it. This separates her from a lot of people, if they do not actively make an effort to befriend her, she will shrink away into her little shell and be silent. She is a Leo though, and she really wants to be confident, but cannot. She has somewhat of an inability to act upon her anger.

Hides True Feelings: She could be nodding and smiling at you, but actually think that you're spouting bullshit. Whether she's scared of hurting your feelings, or couldn't care less about you because you're a big meanie. She could compliment you but really think quite the opposite of you. Though she doesn't usually do this with those on her good side, but she's fine with being silent and not tell you that you have a smear of peanut butter on your chin if you have wronged her a few times. But, it's only because this way she feels somewhat satisfied that she is getting revenge in the only way she can. Saying too much can lead to bad things. She was conceited, yes, but she wasn't dumb. She didn't have many friends, and if a word slipped she wouldn't have people to defend her. She had developed this strange inner pride but outward bashfulness. She hates this trait very much.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes: light honey brown color, large almond eye(s). (My original idea of her was to have one eye gauged out and her having an embroidered or be-jeweled eye-patch, but if not possible then ignore)

Hair: Black in color, tidy yet unique, right below her shoulders, usually wears a hair band with a bow on it

Face: Quite round, but with a pointed chin. It should look like she was born that way instead of got that way by eating too much. She has a light sprinkle of freckles over the bridge of her nose. She has fair colored skin, and her eyelashes aren’t as long as she wants them to be. Her ears are small and round, and she has a small button nose.

Clothes: Uniform

Family

Gwendolyn is an only child.

Mother: Dahlia Taylor is a famous dancer. She was in too many ballets to count. So as soon as she was able to convince Gwendolyn that she had no need to socialize in any dance classes and that it’d be fun, she enrolled her. She is a very strict mother, and expects only the best performance from Wendy whether it is in school or in her dance classes. But despite this, she can also be a caring mother, and a killer cook. When Gwendolyn was born her mother gauged one of her eyes out (unsure yet) because she hated her light brown eyes. This was because both Dahlia and Pierre both had blue eyes.

Father: Pierre Taylor is the father of Gwendolyn. Though he doesn’t quite act like a dad, he treats Gwendolyn more like a business associate. He refuses to use any slang around her and is always spouting philosophical words and phrases. Wendy usually deals with this silently and pretends to listen, but deep inside it annoys her to no end. Her dad treats her as if she knew nothing about anything. If only he took the time to know her better. Maybe listening to her would be a good start?

Alright, this isn't going to be my best crit ever. This is more like some stuff for you to think about, not listed in any particular order.

First, you only list two virtues. Three is really the minimum I'd reccomend, but I suppose that's personal preference. It seems like Wendy may have a virtue buried in one of her flaws though. It seems like part of her ability to hold grudges stems from having a good memory. Does she have a good memory in other areas? Maybe she does well in school because she's good at remembering facts? Is she good at remembering names and faces?

Second, why would she be a Negaverse agent? How would she handle killing? Is she secretly psycho, or would she try to rationalize it?

Third, about her writing hobby. In the description you say that she is conceited. That seems like something that merits being listed as a flaw and expanded upon. How exactly does her being shy and conceited work though?

Remember virtues are what make the character a "good person." Their better qualities. This is quick and very simple, so I didn't get to address very much. Please take everything I say as a suggestion, not questions you absolutely must answer. They are places to think about going.


Hobbies:
Yoga: Does she ever do it in a group? Does she have a yoga family? Or does she consider it a private thing?

Writing: So she writes personal teenage fantasies? Does she write terrible poetry about the pain in her soul also? Does she show anyone her writing? Is she proud of it?

Dance: Why is dance her outlet for physical energy? Make this hobby somehow not seem like an extension of the yoga hobby.


Virtues:

Empathetic: So she is terribly nice and quiet? This virtue is really general. Why is she specifically like this?

Agreeable: Too similar to your other virtue. I'd suggest combining them and adding something else.

Flaws:

Holds Grudges: How does she express her grudges? How does this flaw affect her overall functioning?

Shy: How does she bring herself to slip notes into lockers, then? How does she interact with strangers with this flaw? Why is she so easily embarrassed?

Hides True Feelings: This is repetitive. Why is she this way? What does she herself fear?

So sorry I didn't get this in before 12 like I said I would. I ended up doing an impromptu photoshoot for my friend's photography class. >.<; But I'm still going to give you a crit!

Yoga How was she introduced to yoga? You said she was exposed, but I'd like to know how! Was it a friend or teacher or parent? Or even off tv? Curious minds want answers! wink

Dance You mention she dances in her basement studio, but does she dance with an instructor? Also, I know she must feel passionately about this hobby, so throw some of that passion into the description. How does it make her feel? Why does she do it, besides using up excess energy?

Virtues I would really like to see this expanded. Her Empathetic is good, I like that you included things she'll do to help someone feel better that don't involve talking to them, but I'd like to see more on her Agreeableness, and at least one more. Its good to have at least 3 so that you have a better feel on the character! (But you mention you're adding another, I'm just seconding the opinion.)

Holds Grudges It feels like the first two sentences would be better with a comma instead of as separate.
All her traits and hobbies make Gwendolyn a very conceited character, but they all make her extreme in her conceit. It appears as if she said 'hi' to someone in the hall and they did not then engage her conversation, she would go home and write nasty things about them in her notebook. This is all well and good, but it also means in an rp that she won't be able to interact with people well. I would consider either scaling back her shyness, or adding another trait that would help offset her conceit so she has a bit more dynamic. Try adding a virtue or hobby that will help her be slightly social or something so totally different so she's not the typical strange girl who is mean to everyone.
What I'm basically trying to say is that you've made a really flawed character and that's awesome. Most of the time a character is too perfect, but that's not the case here. My suggestion is to redeem her so she doesn't seem ONLY flawed. I really like her empathetic virtue and I'm interested to see what other virtue you will add. You've got a great and highly interesting start and I really want to see where she will go.
I love her challenge in conjunction with her weapon, but what will her weapon transform into further? Also, why the Negaverse? With what you've got now, she'd have a great 'turn to evil' story and I really want to watch that unfold.
