Physical Description: Maria has long, flowing black hair, as well as a very strong body build for a female, which she gained through wearing armor constantly, and training to become a knight as a girl. She herself, however, is captivating in her beauty, but has convinced herself that she will not fall for any man. Her appearance is shown below:
Personality: Maria is a very straightforward person. She is extremely loyal, and would never do anything to disobey her captain unless the conditions were immensely extreme, and another member of the squad was on the line.
Zanpakutou:
Zanpakutou Spirit: Maria's Zanpakuto Spirit takes the form of a traditional knight in armor. His appearance besides that is never revealed.
Inner World: The Zanpakuto Spirit (Sir Gallahad), lives in what appears to be a representation of the castle of Camelot, which is a humongous castle. It also appears that the knight can change the appearance of the interior whenever he wishes, adding or removing things on a whim.
Sealed Form: The sealed form is shown in the picture of Maria. It is very different than the traditional katana in that it is actually a large, black blade. Due to her strength, Maria can wield it like someone else would wield a traditional katana.

Shikai Description: Maria's appearance changes to that in the picture above, signaling that her Shikai is not just a change in her blade, but a change in herself. She gains a strength increase, allowing her to swing her new, massive blade with ease, and the ability to manipulate lightning from either the blade or her fingertips, doing minor things like shooting bolts, or slicing with the blade, and creating waves of lightning to shock the foe.
Shikai Powers/Attacks: Maria attains a strength increase while in Shikai, allowing her to deal strong attacks with her blade much more rapidly than normally thought possible with a traditional great sword, which she gains while in Shikai.
Raiakki- Lightning Devil:
Maria also gains the ability to create and manipulate lightning from either her hands, legs, or her blade, having multiple uses for it.

Bankai Description: Maria retains her appearance from before, but gains a set of white angel wings that sprout from her armor. She also gains a second blade that looks exactly the same as the man-sized great sword that she had in Shikai.
Bankai Powers/Attacks: Maria's strength increases further, allowing her to wield the two blades she now possesses like normal katana. She also gains an increase in speed, allowing her to move at a speed that renders her little more than a blur, though not as fast as a Shunpo. If she has Shunpo, its speed is increased slightly, though not as much as if she doesn't have it.
Raijin no Tsuki (Cloud of the Thunder God):
Maria gains an intense lightning aura around her, allowing her to manipulate it without the use of her hands or her blades. Now, she can perform large scale lightning attacks, like summoning bolts from the sky. The aura around her also electrocutes anyone who gets too close.
Special Accessories: Maria always has a suit of black armor on, which changes color and appearance when she enters Shikai. She also carries a set of throwing knives around with her at all times, which is stored on the hip portions of her armor.
Skills: Maria is an extremely skilled swordsman, as she's trained many years in the art. She can also throw knives, and is average in terms of kidou.
Abilities: Maria, despite her swordsmanship background, can deal powerful kicks. However, in a hand to hand battle, she would still lose very easily to those well honed in the style.

Biography/History: Maria was born in 1558, in the time of knights and chivalry. When she was a small girl, females were only allowed to become knights if their king tested and allowed them directly. Her entire life, she grew up pursuing that dream, training her body and swordsmanship skills for that moment. On a particularly breezy April day, the King of England was taking a stroll through his kingdom, and noticed her practicing her swings in the castle courtyard. After asking her what she was doing, and finding out her dream, he decided that a test would be appropriate. Her mother, not very supportive of the idea, originally denied her right to become a knight, cutting off all her dreams with one word.
Maria, however, wouldn’t take it. She snuck to the king’s court in the middle of the knight, and demanded her test immediately. He obliged immediately, more due to his interest in her abilities than her well being. She was paired against the court’s advisor and strategist. He was known for rapier combat. When Maria showed up to the stadium with a broadsword, she was ridiculed with idiocy. The advisor, however, overestimated his abilities, and offered to take a broadsword of his own, the likes of which he had no training with whatsoever. He believed that his skills would be enough to defeat her quickly. Unfortunately for him, he was very, very wrong.
The girl’s training for all those years had paid off; she was more skilled with her broadsword than most knights in the kingdom. The fight was meant to be a duel to the death, and she killed the advisor within five minutes of combat. The king, stunned, knighted her immediately. However, the knights were disgusted with the king’s hasty approval, and decided that no female would ever be a knight, even if she had to die. That night, Maria’s home was stormed by nearly twenty knights. Maria was dragged to a separate corner of the room from her mother, who she had to watch being killed before she herself was killed by being impaled through the chest with a knight’s man-sized cleaver. What he didn’t know was that Maria was destined to use that same blade in battle someday, and the sword vanished with her death, taking the form of her Shikai.
Maria wandered for about a month as a soul before the past third seat of Squad Ten sent her to the Rukongai District. She lived there for five hundred and one years before the soul society took notice of her latent ability. Maria was quickly placed into the academy, and even more rapidly became a member of squad ten, the elementalist division. She now lives there as a soldier, and hopes to honorably serve squad ten. She felt that it was her duty to serve the squad as soon as she had heard of their noble deaths in battle. He saved her, so she would continue the honor of the squad in his place.
