They're fascinating to him. He's all gawky limbs, all length that's uncoordinated and falling all over, but not them. They're great; crouched just so, limbs folded under them, and then--

SPRING.

It's brilliant. And of course, he has to try it, imitating them as much as he can with his gangly foal limbs. His first try is abysmal -- it sends them all flying every which way and he has to follow to watch them.

By the time he can only find one left, springing away in a straight line, he can follow them exactly, and does, bouncing and peeping along with his teachers.
