-This is a flashback of the past, when Andragos and Indra were young adults and the Haven pack, along with the Flyer and Sure-Claw, knew nothing of the oncoming Darkness. All was right in the world; the only apparent problems in these males lives were the pangs of hunger, the ups and downs of young love, and the difficulties of training to become full-fledged warriors and gain true recognition from their peers.-

Peering down from his perch in the branches of a tree, Indra watched the forest below with lazy, half-lidded eyes. It was early morning and the sun had only just begun to rise above the horizon, its light just beginning to change the sky's blues to lavender. He wasn't sure what exactly was troubling him, but for the past few nights now Indra had been having difficulty in falling asleep, and so he wandered the forest while his pack-mates reveled in their dreams and wordless rest. On this fair morning he had settled himself in a tree, hoping that the beauty of a view would ease whatever ached in his heart and mind. As he watching a pair of morning doves land in a tree just across from him, he emitted a fairly irritated grunt. What was wrong with him?

Try as he might, Indra could not name what plagued him. Sure, he his affections had been politely rejected by a pretty green female a few weeks back, but it had been no skin off his nose; the two had still settled for being friends and all was right on that end, so that couldn't be what had him on edge. Was it because of the stress from his training? Indra's tail flicked at the thought; although he sometimes found it difficult, the knowledge that he gained each day from his mentors was certainly more of a delight than anything else. If he had found it too difficult, he surely never would have wanted to continue the practicing and would have sought out some other sort of career in his pack. So... what could it be?

Indra had yet to admit his anxieties to anyone else in the Haven pack. He was a bit of a celebrity and had many friends (several of which he felt he could entrust his life to), and was also very close to his adopted parents. Surely there was someone nearby that could understand his dilemma..? Indra emitted a faint whine, his tail drooping over the edges of the branches he lay atop and dangled freely below him, a physical sign of his displeasure.

User ImageThe morning sun was coming through the foliage above. That night he had was restless. While Drashir and Samara had been sleeping he had snuck away, his parents wouldn't be to worried... hopefully. While he had been out the male had been thinking, wondering even what he was going to do with himself. For a strange reason he felt lonely within the pack. He believed it was only because he had not yet found a mate, which it probably was.

He noticed Indra in the tree and went to go climb up after him with some difficulty. "How you got up here I have no idea." He seemed worried for the wolf, "Something seems to be bugging you brother." Indra was his best friend. The wolf had been around with him and had come to be around him more often than other wolves. It was like they had a sort of bond stronger than the pack bond of brother. More like family.

Andragos wordlessly watched the sunrise.

Intra turned his head to look down at Andragos, his ears flicking as his friend managed to scramble his way up into the tree and rest on a branch just below him. "It takes quite a bit of practice, Brother." A smile fell onto his maw at the mere sight of Andragos. It seemed that even without really trying, the other could manage to brighten Indra's day. The little smile seemed to disappear quickly though when the dark male brought up the fact that he was behaving a bit strangely. Indeed, he had been. For a moment he thought back about these past few days, and recalled that he had in fact seemed rather disinterested in most of the things presented to him.

His frown increased as he tried to think of a way to describe to Andragos what was on his mind... or at least, that he didn't know what that something was. "Is everything well for you, Andragos?" He asked, hoping that maybe if his friend told him how he was faring, perhaps he could get himself to come up with the correct words. In the back of his mind he wondered if this feeling was in fact loneliness. Indra wanted to shake his head at the notion. He knew his place in the pack and of course he belonged in the Haven camp with the rest of the wolves, despite not having the same blood flowing through his veins. Then why was he beginning to feel like... his life was static? That there was nothing really happening at all. It was almost as if his routines were becoming a never ending cycle, and he needed to find an end to it.

User ImageWell. That was a word he wished were true. Something felt off, like a storm was coming which made his skin itch. But then again he just felt bad because he had been rejected several times by good looking females. Training had gotten more tough and though he took it in stride and worked hard to get past all the information he still felt... empty. "Sometimes I wonder brother if it wouldn't be better to just leave the pack and try to strike out on our own." This was a thought that had come up several times but never took flight. Making his own pack might be nice but he needed to at least have a female with him and some others so that they could continue to grow.

Settling in the tree he watched the other wolves start to get up. "Well we'd better get going to stone for training. I'd rather not get reprimanded for being late, again." This was not the start of a good day. First that horrifying nightmare, then the growing itch that had started a few days ago. He wasn't sure what was wrong with him. Maybe he needed some time to travel.

Leaving the pack behind... Indra seemed a bit curious at the notion that Andragos had brought up. The idea didn't seem like such a bad one if at least not too much thought was put into it, but of course it would be very had for a pair of young males to accomplish much of anything on their own. "We'd probably have to do a lot of fighting in order to prove our worth to gain more members," he said, moving his body so that he could prepare himself to jump out of the tree. Thankfully he'd chosen one lower to the ground, but of course he could still break his leg if he wasn't too careful. "But if you ever did leave, I would gladly follow after you, Andragos."

Pushing off the branch with his powerful hind legs, Indra leapt out of the tree and onto the ground. He landed safely on the ground, having avoided any sharp rocks or fallen twigs that could bring injury. The blue male moved a bit away from the tree in order to leave room for Andragos should he also choose to jump, if not then use the trunk of the tree to climb back down. His mind again wandered to the strange feeling he had in his chest, and he seemed a bit relieved to think that if he made his goal to join Andragos some day then he might be able to fight off the loneliness.

User ImageAt least Indra would follow him. They'd need to both find mates to make a successful leave too, but yes proving themselves worthy of having more members join them would be even more helpful in a new pack, especially those with different skills. "Thank you brother. I'm glad to know you have my back as I have yours." He watched Indra get read and prepared himself too.

When the rainy male jumped out of the tree Andragos followed behind as he had watched and observed from the place he was at. Once he landed he turned to Indra made made a small n** at him before running off towards where they were to go for training. Oh this would be boring and yet... fun.

{I'm wondering how do you want the training to do? Just throw in some random-ish wolves and stuff?}
