Catching Mewtwo with the Dusk ball was sucessful! He was hardy nature which is satisfactory for me!
New question though.. If I trade my Groudon for a Kyogre will I be able to get the Jade orb or do I need both of them in my party at the same time?

jjblue16 i have it took me like 30 mins to catch that. lol I have yet to venture into Cerulean Cave.. I usually save when I am next to Mewtwo just in case something goes wrong and I can just reset the game biggrin I'ma try dusk balls!

use them at night dark caves at night increase your chances time for some tips!:go at night u find lots of kadabra then,buy lots of dusk balls at least 68 {trust me your gonna use about 42 of them.},have a pokemon that knows thunder wave like an ampharos also u need flash to get through the darkness,DONT USE ANY SLEEP BASED ATTACKS! putting it to sleep is good but mewtwo can wake up from sleep why paralyse stays forever XD,this is one thing not uberly good about mt its moves:physo cut,power swap,gaurd swap,amnesia thats not uber teach mewtwo psyhic with that it has lots of crit hit {my firned said i had crit hax of the back! lol.},getting too mewtwo will probly take 15 mis if u kno your way through the cave if u dont 40 mins

I used Dusk Balls just because of efficiency issues. I tried Poke Balls but it commited Strugglecide at least four times so I switched to Dusk. Use False Swipe from something and then a Parasect/Breloom for Spore. Sleep is better than Paralysis for catch rate and with a high level Sporer you can easily survive Psycho Cut and re-Spore it. My Mewtwo has a Timid Nature and a 31 IV for HP and a mid-twenty to 30 IV for everything else.

I just think Mewtwo coming out of a dusk ball would look Freakin' cool but any time I have ever caught Mewtwo I always just threw a masterball at him and it was over with. I think I am just going to exit the cave and hit a pokemart because I really didn't come prepared pokeball wise.. I lost my action replay shortly after I bought Pokemon Platinum some time last year so I can't cheat the balls into my bag.
I'm not sure if I understand Dusk Balls completely. Lemme see if I got this right..
The Dusk Ball, if used during the day and outside a cave will have the same catch rate as a pokeball?
If I use it in a cave during the day I get a bonus, and if I use it in a cave at night I get a better bonus?

THAT'S the only thing that I wasn't sure of.. because if they stacked it should make them just a little bit better than the Ultra Ball if you were in a cave at night. But I dunno..

The bonus doesn't stack with each other. The Dusk ball is superior to the Ultra Ball because it has a 3.5x catch rate if used in a cave OR at night, while the Ultra ball only has a 2x catch rating. Subsequently, Great Balls have 1.5x catch rating and regular old Pokeballs have the standard 1x catch rating. I hope this clears everything up for you guys.

No wonder it was easier to catch Darkrai,Giritina, and Mewtwo with Dusk Balls then Ultra Balls. Im gonna start using dusk balls more, and cheat time on my DS lol

Damn.. Alright so since I'm new to the whole trading scene for Pokemon. Even though I made a few trades on my Diamond Game which is MIA and my Platinum game when I was playing them. What would something like a Kyogre be traded for? Does anyone want to trade with me? I dunno what to offer..
