Resurrection Wolves Captain

The air was still as the two wolves circled.
Their reasons were their own, but their goals were the same: Alpha. In the face of the Darkness, the rag-tag group of wolves would need a leader. Through their experience, ambition ans perhaps even foolhardiness, both wolves know they would be an excellent leader.
The sun glistened off the tan granite cliffs, the whole landscape seemed tilted, the sun near the horizon as both wolves dug their claws into the loose rocky foundation to keep their footing on the 45 degree incline. This was where they had chosen to fight, away from the bulk of the group, on the very side of the mountain which juts from the belly of the valley, dwarfed further by the ominous overhanging plateau to the north and south.
You may begin without prompting at the starting time, for now feel free to taunt, but no fighting. Please take turns attacking. Judging area:Res's Verdict: 1 Point for Faiyrn-This was a very tough fight to judge. Lithi may have had a better back story, but that is not what we should judge. I do feel, however, that Faiyrn's posts were a bit more emotional. Which is really saying something. All I can say is I'm really looking forward to RPing with both of you in the future!Eslen's Verdict: Breaking's Verdict: 1 Point for Faiyrn. Passion and Emotion. I loved it. It had me sitting on the edge of my seat. Candie's Verdict: 1 Point for FaiyrnI agree with Res; it was a tough one to judge. Faiyrn had more passion in regards to the fight, but Lithi had a lot of passions to the past. Both were very well written.Victor: 3 Points for FaiyrnFinal points: Winner is FAIRYN!

Observation brought her thundering heart to a gallop and blue eyes gazed at her competitor and she closed bright orbs, wondering, not for the first time, if this was the right thing to do. She had the ability to lead, but she still was uncertain if this choice had been rightly chosen. Inhaling slowly she sighed, exhaling through her nose. The turmoil that made her mind feel so chaotic stilled as she hardened her resolve. She wanted this. She could do this and she wasn't going to let doubt hinder her.
A feeling of strength filled her and her muscles tensed. "No matter what happens today, we can still be friends." She murmured. Win or lose, she would hold her head high proudly knowing she fought to lead.

Lithium had been preparing for this most of her life. Of course for most of her life it had been under different circumstances. Her mother and her father had been harsh to her for all of her life. They wanted her to to be an alpha even though they didn't like her they had no other choice and because of that neither did Lithi. However now she was just doing what she had trained to do. She was going to be an alpha she was ready for this more then she was ready for anything else in her life.
She looked down at the ground below her paws for a moment before rising her head and looking at the other female, her bright blue eyes glancing at the other female using the moment to take in all of the female's markings and to size the other female up. Lithi was a little smaller than an normal adult wolf. But one thing was for sure she was sure built read to fight and do she was born ready to lead and she wasn't going to let anything else get in her way.
Sure if she lost the fight she was going to walk away with pride, she would never let a little fight make her feel like she couldn't take on the world like she wanted to. She took a moment as she looked down again at the rocky ground, she laughed a little bit thinking as she did. This was going to be fun and this of course was going to be a challenge. She took a careful step testing her weight on everything before she started to trot toward the battle area she was quickly becoming sure of what she was doing as she was walking.
She paused then sat up making sure to make herself as big as she could, making herself seem more of a worthy opponent. She looked at the other wolves that gathered around her before she glanced back over at her sister. "Lithium." She grunted her name quickly at the other wolf she was already in the zone. She looked around again before she smiled slightly. "Are you ready?" She asked as she started to prepare herself even more.
She really was ready to prove herself.
But for once in her life she was just proving herself for her own sanity and well being and not for anyone else..

She was psyching herself up and her muscles tensed and rolled beneath her skin, the smokey details in her fur shimmered and she clenched her jaws as she watched the other female's movements, matching them slowly, measured movement and calm exterior making her appear stoic and confrontational. Her ears stood forward, tall atop her skull and her body shuddered with the excitement and the thrill of adrenaline already lacing her blood. This fight would be a step towards creating a new future for the wolves she lived among.
Kora came to her mind and her love and affection for the younger female swelled within her and strengthened her resolve. Faiyrn was ready for this. She wasn't going to back down easy and she was determined to make a place for herself in the ranks. She would fight to be leader, but more-so, she would fight to protect her pack and the family she now called hers.
She looked at Lithium and tried to find some explanation for her tense silence, tried to imagine what she was thinking about. Faiyrn couldn't have possibly come up with what was really going through the female's mind. She grew tense and when the female grunted out her name she nodded. "I am Faiyrn... and yes, Lithium, I am ready." she crouched and the fur stood down her back and her tail bristled. She bared her teeth and she stepped back, waiting for the attack. She would not take the first strike.

HP 20 Lithium watched the other female carefully, she was taking in everything about the other female. She looked at everything from her stance to her body language everything. She wanted to make sure that she took in everything about her opponent. She knew better then to just jump into something with all of the times that her mother would make Lithi spar she leaned that she had to be prepared and she also wanted to know as much as she could about the other wolf. She was more then serious about this. She was so prepared for this.
She glanced at the wolves around her once more, taking in a deep breath before shaking out her coat and looking around her the nearest spots just in case the other wolf decided that she was going to take her question as a 'go'. She watched as the wolf snarled and her hair bristled. Lithi braced herself her body dropping down just a little bit getting ready for an impact if one was coming.
She was in fight mode.
She stared down her opponent her expression wasn't changing. She looked as if she was a statue she looked as if she wasn't going to move at all she looked stone dead serious. However she was in fact preparing herself. Her mind moved quickly as she glanced to the side seeing a perfect place that she go to before jumping back and throwing the other girl off to the side.
Her movement was quick. A loud snarl ripped from the back of her throat as she dodged quickly to the side then taking off toward the other wolf. Her mind was set on to what she was doing. She took a moment before she opened her mouth letting out another snarl as she rammed herself into the side of the other wolf full on head-butting her. As she pushed herself against then to the side of the wolf she quickly skidded to a stop and turned around quickly facing the female as her ears went back against her head and she let out yet another snarl.

A grunt escaped her as she endured the blow. She felt the shock of the impact and gritted her teeth as she was lurched off balance. She looked at the female and growled. This female clearly knew what she was doing. Faiyrn had not been in a one on one fight in a long time and her body was scrambling to remember the movements. She dug her claws in and snarled defiantly. This female would not have her so easily. She started to step defensively, keeping her eyes on the female at all times. Her fur began to bristle and stand on end again and her form became dull and she stepped into the shade and her image became difficult to see. Her eyes glared out from the shadows where her barely visible, shimmering form was moving to the side slowly.
She had never been much of a fighter, she had hidden for most of her life... her childhood had been fast and fleeting, she had learned early on that stealth was a good way to survive. She had grown without a mother or father to teach her what life held in store and no one had ever been there to catch her when she needed to fall back. She didn't want that to happen to the wolves in their pack.
She wanted to be the one who they could fall back on, the one they could trust and go to, and she wanted to protect them. Her pack had left shortly after the newest season's pups had been weened and at the start there had been many pups... eight in total, but one by one they had been picked off until she had been the last one left. A few made it to adolescent but there was only one other who made it to adulthood other than her. She closed those blue eyes as heat seared and sorrow flanked her heart. She felt a shaky energy flood her and she opened her eyes again, looking dangerous, her form wavering in and out of clarity.
She snarled and sprang from the shadows at an angle that may have delayed her opponent's reaction. She bared her teeth and snapped her jaws at the other females shoulder, hoping to do some damage to her opponent before passing her by. She sprinted past her and skidded away looking for purchase, digging her claws into the hard dirt ground and jerking to a halt. She bared ivory teeth and she barked a challenge. Her bright eyes dialated and her nostrils flared as she lowered her head and growled quietly, the rumble reverberating in her chest.

HP 15
She waited for the other female to make her first move. She really wasn't sure of what it was going to be and it seemed as though the other wolf was taking a really long time to strike Lithi back. She was trying to figure out what was going on in the other's mind. Sure Lithi moved slow for her first move but she expected the moves to go fast from there. Lithi always remembered fights ending up like that. Her mother always made her move fast. If Lithi didn't move fast enough to keep her mother from ripping up Lithi's skin every time she had the chance. She shivered for a moment was the though raced through her mind. No, this wasn't the time. Her mother couldn't influence her thoughts anymore it was just her right now.
As she sat back up perking her ears up and watching the wolf carefully. She moved her feet starting a slow stalk around the other wolf. In a slight way taunting her to make her next move, she wanted to see what this wolf had. But then again that wasn't anywhere near as important to her as being able to prove herself as not only a worthy leader but as a worthy fighter. She wasn't going to be just another Warrior that happened to sit in the background. She was going to be more then that.
She saw the wolf start in her direction, she braced herself letting out a snarl. She felt the wolf sink her teeth into her shoulder. It hurt. She had been training every day since she left her old pack, making sure to keep herself in shape but she hadn't been in a fight that she had actually felt the pain of a fight. Come on Lithium. Don't show weakness. You can't show weakness in front of all of these other wolves. She told herself, a little peptalk in her mind was a good enough way to be able to move on. She took a deep and sharp breath in as she let out another snarl.
She lowered herself slightly and tried to twist herself back and snapping her jaws, she missed her attack but she was glad that the other wolves' teeth weren't sinking into her side for a moment. She quickly regained her composure as she lowered herself again and bared her teeth back, another growl escaping her throat as she snapped them together a few times. She moved closer to the other wolf, leaving about a foot or two away from her. Even with the other wolf also crouching down she could see that Lithi was smaller then her.
At that idea she left out a snort. A small laugh. Size was never going to stop her.

When the female twisted back she managed to avoid the snapping jaws of her opponent and she grumbled to herself about how she needed to start getting back into shape because she might not have missed if she had been a little slower. She was observing the female who now stood so close and she wished she knew something about this female, what drove her to fight with such eyes, such ferocity, such speed. She was a well trained machine, Faiyrn was not. She onhaled depyl and bared her teeth, trying to look threatening. The female was smaller than her, not a lot, but it was notticeable. She felt the familiar prickling of skin as she raised her fur and lifted her tail and ears in an attempt to look larger than she already was, an attempt to throw her off or intimidate her. So what if the female was smaller though? She had once thought size to be an advantage, but she had learned in hunting smaller prey that the smaller creatures often moved quicker and with more agility. She wouldn't let it be a falso comfort, she would just test the females comfort with larger opponents.
Without backing down she charged forward across the few feet in an attempt to either run her down or maybe throw her off balance. She watched the female with intense eyes and for a moment she saw a flash of memory, one of the pups she had travelled with being attacked by a boar... he'd died in that fight and she had been powerless to stop the head on attack of that angry pig. Another pup gone because she couldn't protect them. She shook the memory of and opened her eyes to look at the female she was attacking...

HP 15
Lithium was a little more happy when it seemed as if the other female moved just a little faster this time when she went to attack. It gave Lithium the chance to keep herself in the fighting mode. She hated when she started to lose it and even though she was wound up enough to go for a long time however she wasn't really didn't want the chance to lose the mood. She was going to fight until some one won and that was all too it.
She looked at the female went to ram into her wise and she snarled before stumbling to the side as a few rocks began tumble down under her feet. She looked as she realized that she had put her feet in the wrong place so when she dodged she founded herself trying to get her feet back to where they were before. She grunted slightly as her feet shuffled and she quickly brought herself back up and balanced herself on her feet making sure that she could carry on with what she was doing. She settled back the way that she was standing before the fur on the back of her neck. She was back into the mode as she pushed herself away from the last few rocks that were still tumbling down.
She found herself trying to figure out how she was going to do her next move, quickly with out thinking as much she backed herself up more getting ready for another lunge aiming at her flank, her plans were to sink her teeth into the females side. But as she backed up she could feel her front paw slipping on a rock, her eyes widened for just a moment before she skittered to bring herself back up the hill more. She was going to try and follow through with her attack. She moved closer and as she went to lunge she just barely brushed her instead, the tripping throwing her off and making her focus waver for just a second.
"Get with it Lithi." She snarled to herself as she turned around once more looking at the female as she clenched her teeth and shook what happened off, she side stepped to the side a little making sure that she was no where near the area of the lose rocks. She growled a little more as she watched trying to figure out what the other wold was going to do next. She was embarrassed at herself however. The fact that she might have lost at that idea disgusted her. Sure some would call her harsh on herself and yes that was true however was very important to her.

She watched the female go through a series of stumbles and almost lost her fighting edge. She wanted to be sure she was alright, but once more she stiffened her resolve. The female hadn't fallen and she was still on her feet so there was no need to be concerned. So far she had come to notice a few things. She raged for the fight and became flustered and angry with herself if she made a mistake, she was uneasy on loose rock and stumbled easily and she didn't like it if she took too long to attack.
She snarled and avoided the female's attack when she tried attacking her flank, she felt the brush of the other female as she passed and she twisted, trying to get her paws around the moving form, her movements lost in a flurry of fur as she snapped her jaws shut, aiming for the back of the smaller female's neck, hoping she could take her down with her weight and size advantage. She snarled and prayed that the attack had the effect she was looking for.
She was the predator and her oponent was prey. The memory came to her swift and unbidden. There were only three pups left... the youngest who had just lost his twin sister, Faiyrn herself and a pup who was two or three months older than herself. She saw his black fur and the silvery pink scar on his shoulder. She remembered his comforting nuzzles and his gentle words when she was afraid, and she remembered his bravery.. Darryn had been her protector and her idol.
One day in their travels through the mountain there was an attack. A large eagle had caught sight of the travelling puppies and had made the youngest and smallest of them her target. The eagle had swooped in low and tried to attack the puppy but Darryn intercepted the Bird's attack at the sound of it's screech. He put himself between the puppy and the bird of prey and tried to fight it off. He had been unsuccessful and the bird had taken his ear. Faiyrn had been terrified and she had raced to his side, trying to comfort him as he yelped in pain, crimson darkening his already black fur. The eagle turned around for a second attack and she snarled a pup's snarl and tried to get between the two but Darryn rose again and he knocked her out of the path of the bird and the littlest one was taken. They listened to his fearful shrieks and cries and tried to follow, but Darryn grew weak from loss of blood and they had to stop...
They carried on later in the day and came across the broken remains of the puppy and neither could bear to see it. They continued to travel, just the two of them alone. He injured and her terrified for their safety.
Faiyrn shook off the memory and tried to emerge from the pain that made her lungs burn as she released a breath she had forgotten she'd been holding. She shook the memory away and tried not to see the image of the broken puppy lying between them and their path. She snarled and her eyes glowed visciously as she continued her onslaught in hopes of bringing the fight to an eventual end. "You've got to keep your head on straight and stop thinking of the past... this is all being done for the future..." She reminded herself fiercely.

HP 10
Pain. There was a lot of pain.
Oh she remembered pain, she hated the pain. She could feel the feeling of tight jaws around her neck. She didn't think about anything else at first except for the fact that she was a little annoyed that the other wolf went for the neck. It was such a sensitive place and she didn't understand how others went for the neck all of the time but after she thought of that the pain started to sink in. It sunk in deep starting from her neck going all the way down through her body.
She needed to act quickly. She needed to do something before she really started to hurt her. She snarled taking a moment to move her head and start to lean back against the wolves' face to get loose. As she moved away from the wolf she quickly moved to the side of the wolf and bit down on the female's flank.
That was a good part of the fight. She could feel the rush, the rush of the first time of sinking her teeth into some one. It wasn't a sick kind of thing really. For her it was all part of the fight. Because of the fact that the other wolf wasn't trying to kill her it wasn't a serious fight she made sure that she wouldn't do more then draw some blood. She wasn't going to cause the creature harm because she wasn't trying to do harm. Just a wound here and there.
She needed to move fast, she knew times like this were very dangerous for her. She knew that she had to rely in speed instead of strength so sure she could sink her teeth into the other female however she knew for a fact that she had to get away before the other wolf could get a really good grip on her no that wouldn't be good for Lithi's fight. She pulled her teeth away moving licking the crimson color off of her teeth before quickly backing away.
She would have made her mother proud with that hit. She cringed at the idea. Her mother didn't matter any more. She didn't want anything to do with her mother dshe didn't care about her mother. It was all her, she was doing it all for herself.

She released the female, making sure she didn't pull or tear the female's flesh to badly. She was regaining her balance from the jarring separation when teeth caught her on the flank. Her opponents gleaming teeth sank into her flesh and crimson painted her silver fur as pain blossomed on her hind quarters. She jerked away from the female, eyes glittering angrily. So she had finally drawn blood, good.
Facing her head on the female thought for a moment and then, in a flurry of speed and movement she ran forward dodging to the left and then to the right, trying to fake her out and take a low pass at one of her front legs in an attempt to slow her down. She growled as she snapped her mouth around her legs before she barrelled past.

HP 10
Lithium was really rolling now. She could feel the adrenaline rush through her, it was the kind of that she learned to embrace since she was young. She shuttered at the feeling of everything rushing into her, the thrill of the fight rushing into her. The shutter was from the feeling of the fact that she was so used to dealing with the abuse of her parents, abuse of the other pack mates through fighting. But then again now she was doing something different yet all of the years of abuse still affected her. All of those times still got to her.
She shook her coat shaking it off because the other wolf was coming her way. She licked her lips as she quickly moved to the side once more. Before going back. She could see as the other wolf tried to sink her teeth into Lithi out of revenge. A smirk grew on her face once more. It was weird for her to smirk as she was fighting. She normally never smiled, even if it was just a little smirk. Normally when she was fighting she had a serious look on her face and she never dropped it. Normally she had a serious face outside of fighting too.
But there was a reason behind that. Something about this, just something about this fighting process with this wolf, with just enlightening for her. Something about this was making her feel great about fighting as she once did. She broke her smile as she ran forward once more and rammed into the side of the wolf, then bit down on her back side as she rushed by. She growled as she turned again and crouched a little closer to the ground preparing herself for the wolf to move closer to her again. She could feel the energy rush through her with this.

An indignant grunt escaped her as she was thrown off balance and she narrowly avoided the bite aimed for her back. She looked at the female and she started circling her again. She shivered with adrenaline and the pain still emanating from her flank furthered her excitement. She growled and the smokey patterns of her coat began to shimmer and she knew that again the Haze was taking over her. She became barely visible and she blended in neatly with the rocky terrain around her.
She was fierce, she was determined and she was rearing to bring this to an end. She charged and leapt into the air, going for an arial attack on the female. She bared her teeth as she swiped her claws along the female's side and snapped her jaws at her flank in retaliation of the earlier attack.
Her muscles tensed as she landed on her front paws and spun full circle to face the female as she slid to a halt, kicking up a cloud of dirt that made her form fully visible once more. She waited, head lowered, teeth bared and ears forward. She was daring her to attack again, she was waiting for it. She was ready.
She saw the female's smirk and she too bore it. She took a step forward and growled her challenge. Remember yourself when you are fighting, repeat to yourself the steps you take, tell yourself not to hesitate and use your skills to your advantage. she remembered Darryn telling her when he taught her to fight. They were the only two left and he knew she needed to know how to fight if something ever became of him. She nodded. "One foot in front of the other, eyes on my opponent, block out the pain, focus on the next move." she whispered.

HP 4
Lithium stumbled, this time it wasn't because of tripping over loose rocks again or for that matter getting attacked between a blink but she did blink a few times. She was trying to figure out what the wolf was doing. One moment the other wolf was there and then she wasn't. She cautiously moved to the side before carefully moving forward a few steps. She didn't know where she went, that was until before she could do anything else she noticed the other wolf suddenly coming her way. With this surprise she was hit hard the claws hitting her side she felt a nice sharp sting hit her. A snarl ripped from her chest, a really loud one.
This female was something different. She was a challenge, it took her just a moment to look, but just a moment was enough she glanced at the female looking her in the eyes. Lithium knew what everyone saw when they looked at her she always looked like she was hiding something behind her eyes, she always looked like she was hiding something, hiding something from everyone. It was true Lithium hid her feelings her mind, everything from others. She didn't want to be hurt like she was hurt so many times. But this female that she was fighting just seemed like something completely different.
She moved away a tiny bit, but enough to be under attack again but she knew what she was doing. She growled as her hackles raised and she lifted her front paws up, placing them on the back of wolf and pushing down before she snapped her jaws near the wolves ear before shifting herself so she can get a better aim at what she was going toward. She leaned her face forward and clamped down on the wolves' shoulder then pushed her forward before letting go.
She wasn't that sure if the other wolf was about to hit the ground but she knew what she had to do, she knew she had to get out of the way. She moved to the side of the wolf standing behind her back as she watched her. As she listened for something to come from the other wolf the only thing she could hear in her mind was the sound of her mother scolding her. the constant 'get away from the other wolf you're going to fail', the 'you couldn't take on a rabbit' and of course the ever constant 'worthless little runt'. She hated those words. She wans't worthless!
She was here taking on another wolf to see if one was to become alpha, and she was doing pretty well.
She wasn't worthless!
