Derecho spent most of his time looking after his pups now a days while Terreis did the boarder patrols - today however he had put his paw down so to speak and insisted that she stay home and try to bond with the pups on her own. She had not been pleased but Derecho had left before she had much of a chance to argue it and even she wouldn't out and out abandon the pups would she? Of course not - and there were other adults near by if she did he told himself, they would be perfectly fine.

Trotting along the edge of YMCA lands Derecho had to admit he was doing a pretty poor job of this patrol - his thoughts were far to far away, back home with his children, as such he completely missed the huddle of white fur under the bush and probably would have trotted right on past if she hadn't let out a whine. Pausing in mid step Derecho turned towards the source of the sound and was quite started to see the little white ball of fluff. "Well..hello there" He greeted softly, trying not to startle the pup 'What are you doing out here all alone sweetie?"

Derecho furrowed his brow slightly, it wasn't the first time someone had dropped a pup off at YMCA - thats exactly how Verse had come to be. He certainly couldn't leave her out here alone and lifting his head he eyed the woods to make sure there was no sign of her parents before he went moving her. Seeing nothing he turned his attention back to the white pup.

'Well we can't have that now can we?" He asked her after a few moments. "Stay where you are and I shall find you something alright?" He asked her before turning away, he could only hope she was a well behaved pup and would listen to him. Thankfully the woods in their territory was fairly flush with prey and it wasn't long before he startled a pheasant from the brush, snatching it quickly before it could take to the air he returned to the place he'd left the pup...only now realizing he'd neglected to ask her her name before leaving. "Pup?" He question dropping the bird on the ground and peering beneath the bush to search for her.

Derecho couldn't help but chuckle slightly as the pup sneezed - he supposed a feathered creature might not have been the wisest choice but on second look she certainly seemed to be enjoying the meal. He wondered how long it had been since she ate last - by the way she was gulping down the food he had to assume it had been quite some time.

"Easy now" He told her as she gulped the meat "Your going to make yourself sick eating like that' He cautioned, laying down in front of the bush in an attempt to seem a bit less imposing to the small wolf. "I'm Derecho..do you have a name?" He introduced himself hoping that small talk might make her feel even more at ease..and he couldn't go about calling her 'pup' now could he.

"Guinevere" Derecho repeated as he looked at her, tipping his head slightly to the side as though considering it for a few moments. "Thats a very pretty name" He told her. It was still a mystery just how she had come to be out here all alone - but Derecho had a feeling that they may never know, the little girl had already stated she knew nothing about it herself. Perhaps she would remember in time. Perhaps not. It wasn't important of course - what was important was making sure she was safe and to that end he had to get her back to the more central pack lands.

"How would you like to come back and meet my pups hmm? They're about your age I think and they would love a new playmate" he added - perhaps the lure of friends would get her to agree willingly.

Did she have some sort of eye problem? She was always squinting like that..or perhaps Albinos were just more sensitive, her skin where he could see it looked pretty pink and he rather hoped she wasn't sunburned. "unfortunately" He told her apologetically - but he couldn't do anything about the sun really "But the den is dark..and there are trees for shade" He encouraged her after a few moments before nudging her in the right direction.

"Why don't you walk in my shadow?" He suggested after a few steps - though honestly he should have thought of this sooner, it seemed like a fairly common sense suggestion. Derecho decided to blame his slight lapse on still being somewhat hocked to have found her at all. What would Terreis say? She already had five pups she wasn't interested in...but this one was female and that would probably make a difference. "It's not so very far.."

"I have five son" He told the little pup after she had arranged herself to make walking comfortable "But there is another litter in the pack with three daughters and one son, so you will have female playmates as well" He offered brightly - because surely she would want to play with little girls too and not just his own rowdy sons.

"And my mate Terreis love girl pups!" He added - and he assumed she did, else why would she want one so bad? Of course if she threw a fit Derecho supposed he could always take the white pup to Merrill...or his own mother. She wouldn't go homeless that was for sure, not in his pack anyways."look the dens are right through there" He told her, motioning with his muzzle as they drew closer. He could see Terreis laying near their own den - at least she hadn't left, though the look on her face was not a nice looking one.

"They are probably playing" He told her -his own eye's searching for any hint of the boys though he wasn't overly worried - YMCA was a pretty safe place to grow up considering the number of adult eyes keeping watch. Even the shy members wouldn't let any harm befall pups. "I'm sure you will meet them soon"

His voice remained soft even as his eye grew guarded at Terreis ran towards him - he was pretty sure she was going to have a few things to say considering the way they had parted that morning but it seemed the pup might have temporarily pushed that argument back for a little while. "Her name is Guinevere, I found her hiding under a bush - and she's half starved so I caught her a pheasant" He expanded.
