Meital is a little tomboy. She enjoys running around doing what is typical considered "boy things." She doesn't have much interest in the usual girly stuff, like dolls or stuffed animals or tea parties or playing house. She finds that she can't relate well to most of the other girls. She would rather be wrestling with the boys or making mud pies to throw at people. She has little grace, but she hardly cares about that. Who wants to be all dainty anyway? If she trips and fall, she might get a skinned knee that she can show to her friends! But she does have one secret girly indulgence. She loves to get dressed up in a pretty, frilly dress because it makes her feel pretty inside. But she would die of embarrassment if anyone found out and caught her in that moment of non-tomboy-ness. She would never admit that she likes wearing a dress and would put up a fight to avoid wearing one if someone tried to stick her in one.
Meital is a very energetic girl. She likes racing other kids or climbing trees. She loves playing out in the sun all day long. She hates sitting still and listening to lectures, finding it boring at which point she might start whining about the dullness in hopes to drive the lecturer to the point of frustration so that s/he will let her run off to play.
Meital likes to come off as a tough, fearless girl. She'll take up any dare to prove just how fearless she is. But she isn't always so tough. There are things that will send her running away crying. But she certainly isn't about to let any of the boys know that for fear that they will think she really is a weak little girl. She hates ruining her tough tomboy image and will try to stomp down any little inkling of fear and plow through the dare. Or at least while in sight of other people. She doesn't tell anyone about her fears, afraid it will be a show of weakness. She has two things at the top of her list of what scares her. She absolutely hates creepy crawlies. They make her skin crawl and give her the great urge to run away whenever one gets near her, but she feigns interest in them for fear of being teased by others. Her other big fear is of the dark. She prefers brightness, light and sunny days. The dark just leaves her feeling cold and afraid. But her favorite part of the day is just as the sun begins to rise and spill its golden rays over the land.

Alastair has a great love for peace and quiet. He enjoys sitting about his study sipping tea while reading. Books are his love, and he takes great care to keep them in good condition. He spends much of his time perusing bookstores for new books to add to his collection. He also enjoys writing, though most of it is for his own private indulges and never gets shown to other people. He considers that aspect a very private part of him and doesn't tell anyone at all about his attempts at writing a novel. The idea of anyone finding his writings both embarrasses him and terrifies him. He has no faith in his ability to write, unless it's an analytical paper on a classic novel that he read. He also has a love for learning and studies any subject he can find books about to read.
As a professor, Alastair has little fear about public speaking, or at least, getting up in front of his classes and giving lectures. But when it comes to new experiences, he becomes nervous and awkward. Adventure is not in his blood. He likes things orderly and dependable. Consistency is the key to his life. Change isn't something he enjoys to any great degree, but he can find ways to adapt if there's no other way around it.
Alastair is typical a quiet, well mannered man who acts politely to those he meets. But he can be strict and firm when necessary, which comes in handy when he needs to get his class in order and pay attention to his lessons.

Alastair owns a small, two-story house surrounded by a little garden that he tends to, occasionally.
The lower floor consists of: a small kitchen with attached dining area, a front room used mostly when entertaining any guests, and a back den that he converted into a library. It's best that visitors stay clear of the library as the books don't just clutter the shelves but the floor as well. Alastair tries to keep it somewhat organized but his obsession with literature can go a little crazy. He wishes he had more room in his house to take better care of his books.
The second floor consists of: a large master bedroom (Alastair's room) and two medium sized rooms. As much as he would love to make a second library, he turned one of the rooms into a guest bedroom (which will become Meital's room when she grows) and the second room is his work space for writing and grading papers and working on lesson plans.
