 Nyx loved the night, she loved the day but for some reason she never really felt the true power of the sky until dusk, the time between the night and the day. Though on this particular day there was a rather lovely sunset as twilight hour set in. She sat up on a hill, the smooth soft grass gently swaying in the delicate breeze. The moon gently rising into the darkening sky. The temperate colors smooth and flowing like silk along the horizon, blending into the the sky like cream blending with milk, rich and creamy color. She sighed softly, the day had been long and she was so alone. Sometimes she didn't mind, but in her heart she craved the sound of little feet and the laughter of kits as they would dance and play in the flower fields, feel the wind and the sun on there fur and down to their skin. Feel the nature and the sky and just bask in its magnificence. She looked into the sky, the color slowly fading into the night. The gentle breeze came caressing her cheek and bringing the light scent of Lavender from afar. She inhaled deeply taking in the scent of the delicate flowers, the power of it filling her lungs and uplifting her spirit giving her a feel of calm.

 Rui wasn't one to spend a night out but he felt like doing something different for a change. His siblings had sometimes told him he was too uptight and he should live a little instead of studying so much and though he wouldn't admit it openly; he wanted to. As the sun disappeared below the horizon, leaving a swirl of beautiful colors in its wake, he walked onwards not entirely sure where he was going. In the corner of his eye a dark fox caught his eye as he was walking by and he looked over at her.
She looks somewhat intelligent at least. he said, staring at her.

Nyx had been too drawn into the night that she had not yet noticed the change in the air around, the gentle stir as another spirit entered the area. She continued to look into the moon, the bright radiance of it captivating her. Her tail gently swaying in the wind, her fur shinny and sleek in the reflective light of the moon as it beamed down upon her as the remnants of the sun and the creamy sunset faded into the horizon giving birth to the night. She sighed again and sniffed the air smelling another fox, she slowly turned around.

Rui watched the female fox as she stared at the moon; he never found what was so interesting about it. She must've noticed him because she turned around and he scoffed. It took her that long to notice me? Jeez. he laughed a little and stared back at her.
"I could've killed you, you know," he said bluntly, frowning at the female as he took a few steps closer. "Your guard was down."

Nyx just looked at him, her silver eyes just staring into him like he had a window to his soul on his chest. "Yes you are right, you could have done so, though I don't think that you would have, then again I do not know you." she stood up and turning around she sat down. Inside she had tensed up but had kept a unmoving exterior. She was not going to let him hurt her, she sat and just mused watched him as he slowly moved closer. He seemed very sardonic, and sarcastic and she wondered why he was so. She could feel the powerful rays of the moon on her back and her ears twitched listening to the sounds of the wind and of the slightest noises of the forest and of the night. "Well you could have but, if you wanted to you would have already done it am I right?" His seemingly arrogant scoffing did not disrupt her serene complex as she continued to view him.

Rui frowned a little at her stare, a little skeptical about making the decision to come talk to her but he didn't back down. Coming to a stop in front of her he looked her up and down. She didn't think I would? Who does she think she is. he growled in his head.
"Maybe. Or I could be waiting until you least expect it." he grunted, a little aggravation evident in his tone of voice. "Whatever, I'm Rui. Who're you?"

Nyx looked at him, her eyes soft and bright. The staring back at her did not make her nervous, she continued to make contact with him. She wished that she could read his thoughts and know exactly what he was thinking but she could sense what he was thinking. She had not thought that he would attack her but this may have been a little naive on her part, but she stuck to this like glue. She watched him intently, she wanted to know what his next move would be. She remained still and continued to keep her guard up. "Yes I would say that you are indeed correct in saying that." she paused for a moment and thought about her next move. "Hello Rui, my name is Nyx."

Rui wouldn't admit it, but he was intrigued by the female. Maybe that was what made him sit down somewhat near her and c**k his head to the side a bit as he looked at her.
"So...Nyx." he started, trying her name out on his tongue. "What're you doing?"
He was being nosy, yeah, but that didn't bother him. He was bored, and she seemed interesting. That and he'd never admit that he really wanted some friends despite the stuck-up way he acted towards everyone.

Nyx nodded her head gently, his nosy behavior did not faze her, she looked at him and sighing softly she gently swished her tail back and forth. "Well as you saw I was looking at the moon, I do enjoy the way it makes me feel, the darkness of the sky and the bright aura of the moon fill me with energy. So now I ask the same of you." she looked at him, her purple eyes scanning him, intrigue slightly by his attitude and way of thinking.

Rui relaxed a bit and at the mention of the moon he looked up, finally taking the whole beauty of it in. He wasn't much of a night person, rather a morning person, and he'd likely regret staying up so late in the morning. He smirked and snuck another glance at him to notice she was looking at him intently.
"What, do I have something on my fur?" he asked, turning his head to look himself over. He hated not looking his best when he went out. "Me? Well, I couldn't sleep so I went for a walk to think. I'm really not much of a night person, but I guess the moon is rather beautiful out tonight."
He shrugged a bit, trying to off the conversation like he didn't care at all.

Nyx noticed him sneak a look back at her, her eyes still upon him. She found him intriguing, and not only that she looked at him to try and find out what he was thinking. That and when you meet someone it is very important to keep good eye contact. Nyx shook her head and smiled softly, her white teeth glittering in the soft glow of the moons rays. "No, you do not have anything on your fur I assure you." she would not tell him that she was looking at him because she thought he was handsome, because he was seemed smug in a way and did not want to stroke his ego, how ever small it may or may not be. "Oh I see, yes the moon is quiet lovely tonight." he bright purple eyes moving up to glance at the ebony sky, the twinkling of the stars so mesmerizing.

Rui stopped his frantic looking about as she assured him there was nothing on him. He was thankful he could stop dreading it was an over-sized bug or something. He didn't like bugs too much and the thought of them made him shudder a little, his fur shifting in the moonlight. As she turned to look up at the sky he looked back at her, having a chance to take a good look without feeling weird by her returned eye contact. She has beautiful eyes. he thought before his eyes widened. He did not just think that, did he? Whatever, she'll never know, right?
"Errm..." he started quietly, not actually sure what he was going to say. He never realized how insecure he felt until he was trying to get along with others and not be rude. "Do you do this every night?"

Nyx she did not yet return her silver gaze back to him, (not purple XD I kept saying that) she was silent for a little while, unaware that he was now looking at her. She was always caught by how powerful the moon was and it was hard not to loose her self within it. "Yes, I come here to this spot every night and sit and look up into the night sky. I think about everything, this place is so very calm that I can't help but feel at peace, and so every time I leave this place I feel relaxed like all my troubles and worries have been absorbed by the moon, and the boundless stars." She returned her gaze to his the shine moving to reflect the light.

Rui cocked his head to the side as she spoke. It intrigued him, her philosophy, and it also was weird. He watched her as she looked up at the moon and stars, looking briefly upward and then back to her when she caught his gaze. He felt flustered suddenly as he saw those eyes straight on. They made him feel like a window, and he so badly wanted to turn his gaze away so she wouldn't see but he just couldn't stop looking at those beautiful eyes.
"Ah, um, this is really my first time being out so that I could actually see much of the moon. I usually go to bed around dusk and wake up at dawn...I've never..." his voice lost hold of itself and trailed off. He wasn't sure what to do, he'd never lost his 'I-don't-care' attitude before.

Nyx watched him as he spoke, she was not trying to make him nervous, but he seemed like he might have been just a little. He had cocked his head at her as she spoke of why she would visit this spot at such a time of night. He stuttered a little ans she found his tone to be quiet cute, that he seemed nervous and this was a nice change from the 'I don't care attitude' She smiled softly listening to him and said "I see, then you have missed some thing in this world that is so beautiful, and nature. A jewel of the rarest quality, a shiny stone like a glittering beacon in the sky for all to view for free, if only we shall view it in all its glory." She was always this way, expressing what she was feeling, she hoped that he didn't think that she was rambling on, or that maybe she was strange, but that was how she viewed things. "We don't always see what is right in front of us, we concentrate on things that are so difficult, and neglect the natural elements, that is how I feel. So that when gaze at the moon I feel so alive, and fortunate to see something so amazing." she sighed softly, her silver eyes still capturing his lovely green eyes.
