Self portrait. I did it at night and I am in my PJ's and dressing gown; this also explains the sinister lighting conditions.



I think the clothing needs most work because I wasn't happy with the the shine on the dressing gown. My shading is a bit off because I could only find my large smudge stick- it was my own fault for using it anyway- but it ruined a few little bits and the shading on the lips.

Hmm yeah. I probably spent least time on those because with the hair, it was always changing and so i just went at it and made it up really. The hairband is stripey but because my light is right above me all the detail was washed out.

I have a problem with portraits and that is that I obsess over details too much.

I can lay down a realistic head portait of a model in half an hour but sit me in front of folds and I can be there for hours. (If I didn't get moaned at for taking too long that is)
