Actually yes. In the London New Years Parade 2010........I had no chops cause we marched for five hours the day before in Chantilly, and I literally completely shattered this note. Thank god no one heard that but the kid in front of me haha.
I did screw up horribly, however; in the MAC championships last season. I forgot a set, and started going back, but I did a quick really cool touch step (in step the whole time) went forward and then went back properly, all while scoring a "what the hell" look from the judge. Needless to say-one of the most embarrasing moments. That and even worse, UCONN was behind the bleachers and there pit was warming up, and I couldn't hear our drum major count off, and I forgot to come up from our visual to the proper set position.......

Our band just kinda BSed our parade competition because the only times we rehearsed parade was TWO DAYS before, and we had never marched competition parade under this director. The only people that had were the seniors, but that was their freshman year...
I've messed up memorized music before. ^^; But other than that, I don't think too badly... Although I didn't pass inspection last parade we had because of "accessories", even though basically everything on me was tip-top shape. I think it was something to do with my gloves/gauntlets, but I have NO idea. T____T

We march exibition, so we do whatever the s**t we want. We turned around mid-song and march backwards, and I accidentally turned the wrong way. Good thing the other trombones are shorter.

I was marching with my cadet's colour party. We were walking in the rain. We were carrying flags on their poles. There were trees on the sidewalks. Their branches are big. My flag's pole is long. I ran into the tree's branch.

The only parade I have played in was the one we did down Main Street at Epcot, two years ago. I didn't 'mess up' per se, but I was really out of step since I was trying to follow the lazy clarinet in front of me who wasn't paying attention.
The Halloween parades we do every year I pass out candy to little kids. The only time I've messed up there is accidentally giving candy to kids who already got some, or almost getting run over by the colorguard from going too slow. It's intense. xD

We were marching in our local town's spring festival and I started sneezing a lot while playing.. so every time I sneezed, a note would blat out. Eventually I just started faking until my sneezing stopped. Everyone in band knew it was happening, so I was embarrassed for quite a while.
Not really a competition, but it was a mess-up during a parade. sweatdrop

I was in a parade band back in middle school and I remember in one parade comp. ...I think it was in seventh grade... my foot joint on my flute fell off and I had to keep going with no foot joint. And we were in the middle of playing our song. Luckily one of the band boosters walking next to the band grabbed it right after it happened. This happened to my friend that same year at a different comp. only her foot joint got run over by a golf cart and was smashed as flat as a pancake. No lie.

I've only ever been in one parade.
Of course, said parade is a parade my town does when rodeo time comes along. Few vehicles. "Floats" are driven by horses. More horses then anything. Not good when youa re i a marching band. I think its 2 miles.
Well, we had a lot of people attmepting to avoid it(nearly impossible.) The only bad things that happened to me was my choes came untied and i had to break form to tie them(very embarassing), I kept getting out of stpe cause it was extremely hot, and when the band boosters went through the block to spray water into our mouths, it kept missing my mouth(didn't mind too muchxD)
