1. We use Kawaks 1.61, download here.

2. Unzip Winkawaks file. And after downloading some roms (place we use A LOT) place them in the "roms" folder that should've been created after you extracted the Winkawaks file. (DO NOT EXTRACT ROMS, THEY WILL WORK AS IS)

3. Load up Kawaks (pretty easy to find, it'll say "WinKawaks" and it'll be an application, I recommend making a folder to put all this s**t in btw...) and go to File > Configure Paths and click "Browse" next to Roms 1. From there just browse through all your s**t until you find the "roms" folder with all your games in it. Then click ok. (Also, you're going to need Neo Geo bios to play Neo Geo games, King of Fighters, Garou, Metal Slug etc BASICALLY SNK GAMES. Just place that in the same "roms" folder mentioned before)

4. Go back to File on the main screen. File > Load Game. From there, on the right side of the screen where it gives you the "All", "Only Available" and "Only Missing" options, have the "only available" option selected and click "Rescan All", all the games you have in your roms folder should show up after a quick scan. (Also make sure you have Show Neo Geo Games, Show CPS1 games and Show CPS2 games checked.) Whenever you add new games to your roms folder, just click "scan for new" and it should find those.

5. CLICK ON A GAME FROM THE LIST AND ENJOY

CONTROLZ

This is an arcade emulator so F3 is to insert coins (or credits as it'll probably say) and F1 is start.

Default controls:
Movement = Arrow Keys
Pause = Enter
Capcom games = ASDF & ZXCV are usually used
SNK/Neo Geo games = ASDF only

The backspace key can be used to type messages to each other while in-game.

Gamepads: Whether your controller will work or not will depend on the model (I think), I've tried to use one, only to have it not work without a gameprofiler, while Sushi has used both a Logitech PC controller (weird because mine is the same brand) and PS3 controller succesfully.

For those who simply just can't get a hang of using the keyboard to play and can't get their controllers to work, you could always use a game profiler, this one's a bit complicated tho... and not to mention not free.

NETPLAY

Warning: Netplay is no where near perfect, things you can expect from playing online via WinKawaks' Kaillera client include: Lag, control delays, desyncs and disconnections. Keep these in mind when entering a tournament.

If you'd like to play with us go back to File then click "Start Netplay". Kaillera Client should pop up. There will be a lot of servers to look through, it'd be a good idea to pick the one that's closest to your location. But because we all live so far apart, it's hard picking out a location at times. After entering a server it shouldn't be too hard to get a game started, click "Create New Game" and choose your game from the list (make sure it's the exact same version that you have downloaded, some roms will have different regions, usually US, Europe and Japan. Your opponent must have the same version as well).

A few servers that have worked well for us in the past:
jwwpua's SSB server in Memphis
Phreake's Southern Gaming Server in Texas
and 72.9.101.140:3383 (which can be found by copy/pasting that into the "Enter IP..." option)

The lower your "ping" the better, the higher it is the more you'll lag during gameplay. To prevent that from happening you should try to find a server that will work well for you, and your opponent. Also, you should exit out of all unnecessary programs (media players, other games, etc), and finally, no downloads while playing.

TL;DR
hit us up in IRC @ sorcery.net/hhf
This is an Internet Relay Chat channel set up for regulars of Gaia's Hip-Hop Forum, enter if you'd like, but chances are the discussion won't be SNK related.

Buuuut, if everything goes as planned, I was thinking of setting up an irc room for the guild. I'd post instructions on how to use IRC at that time.
