Independent wrestling star Trent Acid (Michael Verdi) has been found dead aged 29 this morning at his home by his mother.
Acid was a big name during the early days of Combat Zone Wrestling and held many of the promotions championships. He went on to Ring of Honon in which he captured the ROH Tag Team Titles with his friend and partner Johnny Kashmere who were known as The Backseat Boyz. Acid also won singles titles including the CZW World Junior Heavyweight Championship as well as both the Pro Wrestling Unplugged & Juggalo Championship Wrestling World Heavyweight Championships. Upon hearing the news Johnny Kashmere posted the following on his facebook page:
"I cant believe i'm typing this....Trent Acid my best brother for life, has passed away. he was found at his home this morning around 9am by this mother. i have no info now and i can barely stand up, will know more soon....keep him and everyone in your prayres please this is horrible. I love you trent RIP"
Unfortunately among all his success come some deep personal problems and he was jailed for several drug charges with probation which he violated and was later jailed again. Acid vowed to get himself clean and return to the profession he loved but it would appear personal demons caught up with him.
