Hey guys. I've been getting really into reading parapsychology papers lately so I thought I'd share one of the more interesting things I've read.
The ganzfeld experiment is a pretty well known experiment in parapsychology. You essentially provide a mild sensory deprivation for the subject and then you have them remotely perceive a target. Anyway, this particular experiment has yielded what I consider to be the best scientific evidence for the existence of psi.
There, of course, has been a lot of controversy over this experiment and its results, and through debate some better protocols were developed. This new experiment, dubbed the "autoganzfeld experiment" produced similar results to the first experiment, the difference being that the autoganzfeld experiment is better documented and better controlled.
It shows the existence of a demonstrable anomalous effect that might be dubbed as "psi" or "psychic functioning". The effect size is rather small, but chance and experimental error cannot account for it.

So, thoughts? Do you think this is a step in the right direction for vindicating parapsychology? Do you think that now we are more free to develop theories of how it works instead of focusing so hard on trying to prove that anything is going on in the first place?
