This horror movie event is all about embracing the spirit of our favorite scary movies. What are you a fan of? Serial killers? Monsters? Ghosts? Gore? Crappy teen movies that are scary more for their horrific acting than their actually horror? Bring it here to the horror movie event!
So who are you going to be? The bad guy or the stereotype?
This event will take place in Barton Town on Thursday, June 24th, at 8:00PM EST.
The Bad Guy
Known as the antagonist, this character, almost always male (unless you're dealing with witchcraft), is the guy that's going to reap fear and blood and guts on the main characters. He can be a living person, a ghost, a monster, or whatever your little old heart desires.

Generic Bad Guys
Don't have a favorite movie? Then how about your favorite genre? What's your forte? Serial killers? Zombies? Pick a theme and run with it! Here are some generic creatures:

Now for the the fun part. The stereotypes. What characters do you find in almost all horror movies? The hero/heroine, the slut, the disbeliever - who is your favorite? Where do you stand in the mix? Who do you want to be for this crazy event?
The hero/heroine - If you're the male main character, you're the hero/survivor/protagonist. The main character never dies (see the following paragraph for the exception). The hero, if a teenager or young adult, is typically socially awkward, has several friends, or is a loner. If the character is a loner, whoever else survives the end of the movie will become the protagonist's BFF.
The exception to the rule is if you're a female main character. You are what we call the "innocent virgin." If you are not a virgin, you have a 150% chance of dying. If you lose your virginity during the movie, you have a 99% chance of dying (why the ******** are you doing it in a haunted forest anyway?) Virgins have a .0001% chance of dying.
The nonbeliever - No matter what, this guy or girl doesn't believe anything seriously bad is happening. There is no serial killer, it's all in your head. There are no zombies, everyone just has a bad case of the flu. This is the guy who shouts "THERE IS NO DEMON LLAMA!" before getting his head omnomnomed off two seconds later. This character's death is usually comical, but if he or she lives halfway through the movie, chances of survival are good.
The badass - aka the anti-hero, this character is a jerk right from the start. He butts heads with the hero and is usually dating the hero's love interest (until he dies, of course). Generally speaking, if the badass doesn't die, he has a change of heart (and personality makeover) halfway through the movie and becomes a good guy.
The black guy - Now we're not here making comments about any race, but the fact is, there's a stereotype in horror movies: the black guy. If this is you, I have good news and bad news for you. The good news is, you're a likable character - often comic relief, friendly, and all around, a good person. The bad news is that you have a 90% chance of being one of the first people to die - in fact, you're usually the first one, which lets the audience know that mass slaughtering is just around the corner.
The hoar - Oh, yeah. You're definitely going to die. Possibly during sex and undoubtedly in your underwear or a skimpy outfit. You serve absolutely no purpose but to get the audience's blood pumping early in the movie with your grunting and flailing and sweating and dying. Your chances of surviving are slim and if you fall at all when you're running away from the bad guy, you're screwed.
Contest!
Want to be part of the horror movie event, but you can't make it? Want to be part of the event and you can make it? Either way, you can get involved in this forum contest! Take a picture of yourself, dressed as your favorite baddie, in a place in zOMG befitting of your character. This contest isn't based so much on how funny/lulzy it is, but how well you portray your character in an appropriate spot in the game. zOMG is very diverse in the places we play in - use them to your full advantage!
Post your pictures in here! The size of the screenie should be no larger than 300 by 300 pixels and if you have photoshop, GIMP, or a similar tool, place save it as a jpg (.jpgs are smaller in file size and therefore load faster).
I will choose the best ten screenies and prizes will be handed out to the top three! First place will receive 25k, second place will receive 15k, and third place will receive 5k!
